Another reason is that people are becoming more and more educated. Meaning they can look at information and decide critically whether something smells like a rat. They can go and do thier own research. I mean go out and look and several sources from the click of a mouse and compare. I deconverted because I began to investigate and look at what science at the big universities were teaching. I now know that Christianity was just a fake psychological sercurity blanket for me.
The biggest reason is technology. With the help of technology, information is becoming more available where in the past, the knowledge of the historicity of Christianity was not available. Only information came straight from the Bible. Now in the modern world, there is a flourishing of information combined with the fact that we are free to either choose to believe or not. In the 2000 years, Christianity was colonised and forced onto people by people such as the spanish inquisition etc,
I salute the boldness and purpose of this great concept. Finally, someone has stepped up to bring a straight forward and honest commentary regarding the need for Christianity to become re-energized and for a true commitment on behalf of those who proclaim that they have faith.
