I think anyone in retail can relate to this. I worked at a bookstore. Once there was a guy who asked us to keep a book on hold for him, but we forgot. He was livid. It took less than 2 minutes to pull the book off the shelf, give it to him, and ring it up, but he was still pissed because he was in THAT MUCH of a hurry.
people who watch only this sketch probably don't know about the bunny reference. what was so brilliant about kith was they had bunch of sketches subtly connected in one episode. that bunny thing was the cold open for the episode that had this "the bill" sketch. the bill was the last sketch of this episode. to truly understand the jokes in kids in the hall, better watch the whole episode in an order. like first sizzler sisters sketch, the joke continues throughout the episode.
I'm trying to find the one with the teacher who is so boring that all of his students fall asleep, and when they're all asleep, he goes to his closet and takes out a "lovely lady" with whom he carries on a romantic affair until the students wake up.
I saw something like this happen standing in line at a Taco Bell years ago. The guy would not get out of line making this kinda scene because they were out of sporks wrapped in plastic. I eventually went out to my car and handed him one from my glovebox just so we could move in line.
This is one of the funniest skits they didm in my opinion. When my ex and I would see someome acting like Bruce did in public, we'd just watch and go, :"I'm a fuzzy bunny!" lol
I'm not sure what his name is, but the guy in the glasses an the turquoise sweater annoys me. All of his characters are morons and he's never funny, just stupid. It's always the other cast members that are funny.
@bananaphone07 Hmm, this is pretty much in line with the Kids' sense of humor, and Dave is rarely seen without a cup of coffee in his hand...I think you're on to something.
Anyone know where I can find the skit, where bruce kept throwing a drink in the guys face at the bar. He kept challeging him to a fight and getting his ass kicked. Thats probably the only skit I cant find on here, that I wanted to see.
LOL,this is too funny,he's complaining tio death about his bill and time, while the other guy drinking coffee's imaging him in all these weird costumes, while the lady never got her water,LOL!!!!!!!Rolling with my chair laughing, that was too funny.
Can`t really agree with you on this one. Monty Python came before the kids and they pretty much created absurdist humor as we know it today. Kids in the hall did however make a pretty big name for themselves. When most sketch comedy shows of recent have come and gone and blown chunks, kids in the hall certainly sits amongst the greats like SNL and Flying Circus
You can take it even further back if you go into radio and give it to The Goon Show (on BBC Radio in the 50s...Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe, and Spike Milligan...EVERY BIT as weird as Monty Python).
KITH didn't invent absurdist TV sketch comedy but they are the masters because they perfected it.
Monty Python sketch comedy is genius (I've seen all or almost all of their work), but KitH is more varied, as absurdist, often darker, and slightly better overall. (Monty Python's movies are better than KitH's movie though.)
KitH tends to be underappreciated, possibly because being Canadian and Gen-X they get caught in the cracks.
SNL only came close in a few Belushi, Hartman, or Farley skits.
funny you should mention Mr Hartman. Newsradio is one of the most under-appreciated sitcoms of the 90`s and even today is still relevant. Phil and Dave honestly made that show. No other characters in that show had the chemistry and comedic tenacity those two did. If you locked them in a room for half an hour back then you`d probably have a concept and characters you could turn into the great american sitcom
Oh - the Monty Python vs. KITH thing... they're both great... though it's true the Python's being English only have one spoon.... wanna haggle? *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*
