I don't really get how people think she is powerful. She actually looks like she is moving quite slowly across the ice compared to other skates, and compared to the tempo of her music.
She needs something fast, and upbeat like this for her LP. I love this SP and she just gets better each time she skates out to it. Rachmaninoff /Paganini is just too slow for a powerful skater like Rachael in the LP. I wish she'd consider something upbeat like techno with maybe a unitard.
Fat? I'll bet Rachael hardly weighs in at 100 lbs. I love Sasha Cohen but she looked very unhealthy for a grown woman of 25 at Nationals-she looked like she weighed perhaps 80lbs. ringing wet. On the podium you could see she's even a little bit taller than Rachael. Cohen was much too thin. Rachael just looks like maybe she needs a little more tone but that's all. Her posture I think is due to the natural roundness of her shoulders.
@faeryquene I wondered abount Sasha too. She looked too thin a Nationals. She has always been tiny, so hopefully it is just the result of intense training for Nationals.

everything she does is so correct but in a boring way! and shes not graceful at all. her torso is so stiff like a square box. too bad! she has a great potential w all of her jumps.
actually, I think the music does work - watch her golden west sp, it was great. I just think she might have been rushing, her footwork and arm movements didn't have the flair and sophisticates needed here.
she was definitely not out of her shell with this program yet, so much improvement by nationals. she skates best to this kind of music.
