Did they do something to arcane blast? Because before, you were able to cast like 3 arcane blasts, hit arcane missles, then before the debuff runs out, you hit arcane blast again and you keep the improved cast speed minus 600% mana cost.

Ok , so first of all if you raid you do not need 290 hit. you can actually get away with quite a bit less considering raid buffs. Consider Gift of the wild, for example, and how often do you raid without a druid. this is a common misconception with arcane spec mages and it is just a myth.

I like to spec into incanters absorption on my mage caus u can pop wards and get boosts of 400 sp here and there...plus its useful for twins in toc...you're constantly absorbing energy...u can get 4k+ spell power which amounts to 9 or 10k steady dps on them

This is true regarding Mana regen..... Ive got 2500 SP, hit of about 275 and haste is 800. Mana pool is 28k self buffed...and its gonna take a LOT of casting to deplete that.

I don't know if you have changed your rotation yet.. but I do A-Blast x 4 - then missiles (extra dmg) on my mage, don't tend to oom on any bosses and usually hold between 6-9k dps depending on the boss and raid buffs (eg boomkin or ele sham).

i do 4/7k in 5mans, you just have to know what your doing. in raids il do 5k+ constant, with bursts il go over 10k. its rly not hard my gear may not look amazing, but the stats it provides are perfect. and the way you play had a big impact on your DPS.

@Doochahh however IMO dmg done is more important, DPS shows the AVRAGE damage a person does per sec effectivley showing their potential, damage done show how much a person DID contribute to that fight.

If person A did 6000DPS and 200000damage yet person B did 4500DPS and 250000 damage person B has contributed more, thus was more usefull for that fight. :-)

Nah, there not. A Warlock is OP. A mage does that amount of damage, but with the mana drain as a consequince. Most mages will be OOM by the end of a fight.

Mages don't need spirit, 3 mana crystals 2 min evocation, your ovbiously not using your mana correctly, or your not using your saphires or evocation correctly. 4xArcane blast (after last patch its 4) if missiles proc missiles if not barrage for reset.

@Doochahh I agree its not the most important but it also helps with regen serving a dual purpose but witht he t9 2 pc bonus set with molten armor you will get 70% of your spirit turned into crit plus the mana regen so it isnt so imortant you want to gem for it directly but with your blue slot use +12 sp and +10 crit i belive its a purple gem.

@wriglyswife Now with the new ICC 25 fights I swapped all my 12SP + 10Crit out for 12SP + 10 Haste, as I found DPS has dropped considerably because of the amount of movement. And about the dual purpose of spirit, I have never gone below 50% mana on a boss fight, If i keep my rotation of every minute Evocation & Mana gem I never go OOM.

Every arcane mage use same rotation. and almost same spec. But use Glyph of:

Blast, Barrage, mage armor, the armor is +20% mana regen. and armor itself 70% while cast. So its TONS of mana regens and NEVER oom. But u miss 5% crit. I got 2326 sp. 315 hit. 295 haste. 20.38 crit. and do on dummy like 4 - 4.5k. Check my armory. Akagrim - Horde undead mage - Mazrigos

Wrong.. if you spec into the arcane talent that gives 3% hit, you only need roughly 186 hit.

Btw really try to stack haste, to be really good, you want to aim for ~700... atm I have I think 681 haste with 1991 SP unbuffed... you may think "wow thats low

SP" but in reality, you won't need as much when you stack haste, it's actually worth it stacking haste and kind of sacrifing SP. Not too much SP but kind of balance haste and SP. =-)

Hey there, great video that really explains how to use arcane and the rotation for pve; although, whether its for PVE or PVP, you have to prio HASTE a LOT more, i dont have as good gear as you have (4/5 Valoruros and everything above 213 except for wep and head) BUT, i got alot less crit than you have, and a lil bit less Spellpower...but 4 times the amount of HASTE you have, and I would outdps you easily, the 4-5k dps you are doing in 25man raids i do in 5man HCs easily on single targets

once u have full tier 7 gear make sure you have glyph of mana gem and glyph of evocation b/c you will heal 80% more mana than you normally would wit your gems and it's usefull for a mage to be able to heal itself witout using any mana. and your betta of going all arcane cuz u filed up frost so u get icy veins even though if your specced corectly u can gain missle barrage and attack just as fast. i can crit 10k-12k with arcane blast unbuffed. Trust me this will really work if you take my advice.

you done need evocate glyph, one your in a raid you have healers if your low its because your beeing hit by somthing so evocate wont do much, the you will need molten armor and arcane blast glyph, the 3rd major is optional really, im using arcane missles i know alot of my damage comes from it so i made it more effective, you could use arcane power or mana gem its really your own choice for the last major there.
