I checked this on the store and I think the nylon material is not that durable (too thin)... at least comparing them to the north face bags. Do you think it will last 5 years up? The display is already showing strands of nylon tearing off the lining which is a very big issue to me. So I'm really thinking this carefully before letting my $100+ go. Jansport vs. The North Face.
@ironjohn03 the part that you're probably most concerned about is the bottom nylon. I've had the backpack for over a year now there are no signs of fatigue. However, how long the backpack lasts also depends upon how YOU take care of it (i.e don't throw it around/drag it aroud etc.). Only major fatigue is where the shoulder pad connects to the actual pack, there 1 strand of the nylon broke right in front of my face.
Love the way this pack is divided & the pockets, VERY GOOD layout!!
But this is a good sized pack, so without a padded waist belt, it's a deal killer.
The back pad is also sloped away from actually adding support for your back. And the material used for the back & shoulder straps seems too hard, not comfortable.
Give this pack some better rigging & materials and it would be IDEAL!!
Thanks for the review...just bought this backpack yesterday. Got it at Marshall's for $40, after I left Dick's Sporting Goods where it was $109....shop around guys.
@noobasurasrex yep...the exact same. I watched the entire review to make sure mine wasn't missing anything. I read someones review on amazon and they said the same thing...so I went and there it was.
hmmm idk about the clothes but everything else will fit nicley. i use mine for school now and i carry two 2 and a 1/2 inch binders (one of them a zippered one, which are usually bigger), a 2 inch txt book, a lunch, and various writing utencils
the holes, are for the hydration pack. oh, btw, i need to ask, since i'm gonna buy this bag mainly for school and I really fit ALOT of stuff inside it. about 4 inches of textbooks, 3 inches of long exercise books and another 2 inches of small exercise books(and maybe two changes of clothes). Do you think it will fit? the text books will mainly go in the biggest compartment.

didnt i show the gap in the backpack for that? There is a special hole just for your hose....lol

The holes in the top handle are used to route the hose from the hydration pack to one side or the other.
