  • what kind of paints are used for marbling?

  • Hicabi Gülgen, who is the artist in this video, has created a group on facebook named "The art of Ebru".

  • Amazing. It brought back such beautiful, creative memories of Turkey.

  • FANTASTIC!!!

  • ooohh this soo beautiful

  • guzel video kardes Allah ragzi olsun

  • Video is cool. You know too much about this art. I found the information rater bland..

  • ilginç harbiden

  • The best I have ever seen in Art, so peaceful and calming, what a dexterity! Thank you for sharing this video, I really enjoyed it along with the music.

  • why do u always argue... even when there is such a beautiful vid here, relaxing music .. and u still find reasons to curse and offend each other. U are all disgusting .. !!!!!!! !!!!!PEACE!!!!!

  • [Applause]

  • Practice what you preach bro, such a beautiful video and u find reasons for anger.

  • This ia a lovely video. Just beautiful.

  • mashallah !!!

  • I would LOVE to learn Turkish, sounds real cool. WOW! That is a sick form of art!

  • thats really cool. I am turkish and all my friends in us want to learn it. It is not really hard to learn.

  • The Ottoman Empire contributed tons to what Turkey is today. I believe Islam should be brought back to Turkey.

  • haha :) must be pretty annoying to paint like this, its like having one chance and thats it, cool form of art

  • @sharmanti: You would think that, but not really. I work in a museum & occasionally do marbling as a drop-in craft for kids & often adults. I think the nature of color floating on liquid makes it hard to mess up. There is such beauty in the nature of it. Obviously, no one is making anything near what you see in this video, but unless one gets in & stirs the heck out of the paint like they're mixing cake batter, it turns out and pulling the paper is like watching fireworks--oohs & ahhs!

  • great art performance, 5* from me

  • is there a special paint fo this. i love watching you paint. its so peaceful.

  • Fantastic..thanks for the vid bud..

  • my grandpa did this back in pakistan, its realy cool and he taught me a bit about it

  • wow realy wonderful

  • WoW! SIMPLY AMAZING

  • 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • where can i learn this better ?

  • I think most of the masters of this art do this with music.. because they need to go throught their heartfor an artistic work

  • harika ...

müzik de cok güzel olmus. eline saglik hazirlayan, yapan.

bende bir ara ugrasmistim, müthis zevkli bir sanat.

  • This is really beautiful.

I think this must be more recognised in world because this really is wonderful.

  • Mashallah! Wow! That was wonderful. Beautiful work.

  • This looks similar to the designs baristas (coffee shop employees i.e. Starbucks) create with cream in their coffee.

  • Wonderful piece of work.

  • masha'Allah! beautiful, beautiful

    Thank you for sharing!

  • Wow! it is so pretty and breathtaking wow.

I loved this form of Art, Oh that's

  • WONDERFUL

  • Beautiful

  • it's fascinating,

And it's not simple as much as it seems..

  • very beautifull turkish marbling

  • that is really cool. its quite interesting to watch you do it, it seems simple after you show how to do it, it has intrigued an interest for me

    thanks

  • oh i got to do this in school. its really fun and suprisingly easy

  • five stars...

    Amazingly relaxing. Great Job..

  • agreed it is really relaxing!

  • oh breath taking

I have intution that eh artist is a guy, right?

  • ebru sanatı ..... türkiyeeeeee

  • watching the process is extremely relaxing

  • you are right :) i'm watching it after a hard day at job :)

  • Hayat kaynağı suyun bize yansıttıkları bu sanatla belli oluyor...

  • Very amazing!

  • süperrrr

  • very cool. love the music.

  • Ya, I did this in school on a smaller scale. Once you are done, you can also put think paper and lay it down on the LS. Then you press points, and then lift it up.

  • great technique

  • Why would you want to compare in the first place. Every sort of art has it's own appeal. With this form of art I believe the most important thing is not the result but the process of making it.

  • wat did they use to make this peice of islamic art???

its too good i have to have a go!!!

  • in the ottoman empire it used in rooms, because a humanly, animal looking painting are not allowed in islam so this peace full art is used on the rooms^^

  • WOW i really love this video.

Is there anywhere on the web I can download it from? Or would it be possible for you to send it to me via email?

  • Hi - im an art teacher and i like to do this with my students - they love it and so do I-

You need to go to the supermarket and buy two jugs of liquid starch.

pour the LS into a basin

then select a variety of tempra paints - put a few colors into diffrent cups and add a drop of liquid soap to each cup. mix the paint and then drip it into the liquid starch.

the color will sit ontop of the water. pull colors with tooth picks. lay paper ontop of the LS and then pull paper up. enjoy

  • Hi, wow I cant wait to try this, Thank You :)

  • hey thanks im gonna try this

  • terapi gibi ya..ruhum dinlendi

  • Beautiful, and what a contrast with life...

the people who deny God exists are jut like those who say we cannot see a face behind the hand here, so we believe this piece of art came about by chance, it was random...No there is a designer here just as there is for the Universe.

  • thats so nice!

  • this is soo amazing

  • realy nice thnxs for sending!

  • this is great! The beauty and peace in "true" islam is reflected on this piece of art. Thanks for sharing.

  • beautiful

  • great job

  • are you blind? And stop hate us!

  • I agree. You are a peaceful follower of Islam! To be humbled is great, but is it so bad for him to be proud as well. For it is a great accomplishment. Wonderful, beautiful. This is a great gift to all the world. Well done thou good and faithful servant!

  • maghi the Islamist -> make no mistake Turkish people are artistically active unlike the by Wahhabism-indoctrinated & Arabized peoples! As you watch this video YOU should be humbled and take some clue from the Turks instead of demonstrating your miserable jealousy and remove your obscurantist Wahhabi videos from your filthy page!

  • roflcakes...

I am anything but Wahhabi... everything Arabic doesn't mean Wahhabi... infact those videos you see are videos of Sufi sages...

Ottomons had their glory because of their connection with God... i'm not Jealous of Ottomons infact I love them... I just complain of modern day Turks who are anything BUT Ottomons in their lifestyle and their uprightness

  • art is not beautiful if it's meaningless... Ottomon art was meaningful... If some superficial person copies the same thing it doesn't have the same beauty anymore cuz it doesn't mean the same thing

  • I love this video. It reminds me of a painting in the science fiction book series of Dune. The painting was a masterpiece, but they had used science so you could watch the painter create the master piece at a push of a button.

This is just like the painting, and a brand new form of art -- at least it is new to me. Bravo!!!

  • beautiful

  • how can you all keep arguing, at a this peaceful vid?

  • thats really nice :) i would like to learn that too. :)

  • Onley in Turkey :D

  • this is amazing!!!

  • what kind of paint do you use?

  • why is everyone posting on turkish culture and greatness like this one and others :S:S i cant understand why you are so jealous about?

  • Amazing vid. May I ask for the title of the music?

  • watch?v=Xn0lCdx-3Qo

    there u go.

i just forgot the name and land but i guess thats what he meant.

  • What a beautiful and mesmerizing art this is!!! Ebru(cloud), i was totally glued to the screen watching the simplicity yet the painstaking way that the art was turned into different forms, at the end that flower plant looked so unique! Thanx for sharin' this most awesome vid with me! Saludos desde Kerétaro, México!

  • Amazing isn't it?

Ney and Ebru are our divine arts.

I love my culture, i love Mevlana, Yunus Emre, Haci Bektas Veli and Ataturk.

    Thanks for video!

  • I remember seing how this done first hand in a Canadian-Turkish festival called Tulip festival.

I success everyone to actualy watch artist doing the work with your own eyes, its beutifull

  • AMAZING !!

  • islamla ilgisi nedir biliyor musun?

  • beautiful.. i wanna learn to do that :)

  • superb!

  • simply beautiful

  • This is the best video above all.

  • Süper.

  • cok guzel!

Islam kulturunde Lale Allah'i, Gul Hz. Muhammed'i remz etmez mi?

  • this is real art... This is Ottoman....

  • Wow!!!!, I have never seen such beautiful art. Is that paint or what, when it dries it looks like a painting.

    Amazing..

  • thank you batman7003.. it's a good explanation to aryopa.. well, at the end it shows peacefull art:)

  • What a beautiful video.Que vídeo lindo!!!ツ

  • it's wonderfull. its a enthrallingi art. i lover its.

  • it's just amazing.... does someone know how the song is called??

  • Fabulous can't wait to try this!

  • can someone explain what has that to do with islam?

  • @aryopa

You might wanna read the fairly long "About This Video"... Most of the arts that came out of east (not only the muslim east) aim at one thing: To reflect the beauty of the Divine. That's only one of the reasons why Ebru is ultimately an islamic art.

You can also take into account the fact that most prominent symbol in ebru is the "tulip" which symbolizes (Remz) GOD in the Islamic culture.

  • It's beautiful but it isn't islamic. It's just modern art, modern Turkish art. "To reflect the beauty of divine" is not a monopol of islam. Art IS about reflecting of divine or do you call Bethoven's music and Le Corbousier's architecture "Christian" art? Turkish art is Turkish art, Persian art is persian art and Indian Art is Indian Art.

  • I am not here to start an intellectual debate over what constitutes Islamic Art or Art itself for that matter. However, I have to clear something up and that is there is nothing "modern" about Ebru. It is a traditional form of art and that in of itself contradicts with your statement. My best recommendation to you is to read some of Ananda K. Coomaraswamy's writings on traditional forms of art and what they truly represent. You will certainly feel enlightened on the subject matter.

  • I agree, however, that Islam does not have a monopol over reflecting the beauty of the Divine. A Buddha image or Da Vinci's The Last Supper will do just fine for some people.

  • elinize yüreginize saglik...

kamera cekimleri icin ayrica tesekkür ederiz..

    bizi ebrunun derinliklerine götürdünüz..

    Allah razi olsun

  • züpper ya

  • eline sağlık çok hoş

  • acayip ha

    super oluyo

  • how do you do this, thanks

  • breathtaking, beautiful, and mesmerizing! the music matches the video which is very well done. is this done with liquid metallic clay, acrylic compound, or a mixrure of the two? the work is so tedious; i'd love to know about the method.

  • Precioso!!!

  • Most beautiful. Very artistic.

  • Kesinlikle Çok güzel...

  • Tek kelimeyle "masal" gibi...
