This one is just really nice with a few extra compartments but all the metal toilets and sinks are the same just as a prison or some jails because the same company makes them all.
The sleeper rooms aren't large, but they do provide much more privacy than sleeping in a seat in coach. Even in coach the chairs are very comfortable and you aren't packed like sardines of an airliner. What is best you can stretch your legs walking to the dinner or lounge car. While its true trains rock you around, you get used to it. Since the trains are barely on time, sometimes very late, so plan your trip accordingly. Plan on arriving to your destination a day in advance.
I took my honeymoon on the Texas Eagle, and had a super bed room suite. My wife and I just had so much trouble trying to get "connected" then stay in the game, coz the train was lurching and rocking so violently back and forth, and side to side... all at the same time! So anyway, she got on top, and I held her close, and let the train do all the work!
Anyone traveled from NYC To Miami? I am going in August to a cruise And the ships in Miami. Was wondering how a 31hr trip would be like on a train >__<
I am taking the Empire Builder to CHI and them the Missouri Mule to Sedalia, MO for vacation! From Pasco to Chicago, I have a room and I'm looking forward to it! Thanks for a great video!!!
A respectful comment from an Amtrak Ticket Agent with 19 years service, the room in this video with the subtitles "Family Room" was actually a Deluxe Room. The Family Room doesn't have an enclosed shower and toilet, but does have windows on both sides of the room...Thanks for posting this video. Keep Riding! Know You Are LOVED by all of us at Amtrak!
We regularly take Amtrak on trips under 1000 miles or less and always book a bedroom with bath. The room is not a big as the one that they give the crippled but its plenty comfortable

@quelita28 According to an Amtrak Ticket Agent, that would be a Deluxe Room. I thought this was a "Family Room" when I took the video 3 years ago.

My rv shower is bigger. This is what they would put in a camper shell.
