I wish more folks would watch this and give B. Brown his PROPS! He actually had a good voice and is one of the greatest dancers of all-time *bump what you heard*
But more importantly Bobby had really really great music! Like these songs are 20 years old and still sound better and go harder than anything in R&B on the radio today! There's no gimmicks or frontin Bobby was raw sex appeal with the talent to back up bravado.

@GatorGirl04 I give him his props. I would not give him the title of King Of R&B only b/c he did not have enough hit albums. He had a great voice and was a great dancer. I never knew why he wasn't the lead singer of new edition I guess the same reason Florence Ballard was not the lead singer of the Supremes b/c the voice had too much soul and personality to it. Anyway Bobby Brown is/was great I hate that drugs derailed his career b/c in the 80's there was Michael Jackson, Prince and Bobby Brown.

@rareunheardsound No, I disagree. If Bobby Brown dies, not everybody like Chris Brown/Usher is gonna be claiming they got their moves from him..because they didn't. It was from Michael Jackson, who got his moves from James Brown, and so on. I don't think Bobby Brown is in that chain line. &It didn't take Mj's DEATH for artists to say he inspired them. If U remember Chris Brown has been doing MJ tributes since 2005 and Usher always credited MJ when he was alive even in 2001 Anniversary Special.

I don't care what anybody says about bobby. At his prime, Bobby was the man. He was the man with NEW EDITION "MR TELEPHONE MAN". He just felt the stuff the guys were doing as kids wasn't what he really felt in his heart. When he went solo, He brought out hit after hit, ROCK WITCHA, MY PEROGATIVE,DON'T BE CRUEL ect... all heart felt whether fast or slow. The Man was a genius and you gotta give him his props. You know...I'd like to thank Bobby for contributing to the music like he did. The only thing I regret, is when he wasted his talent for drugs. And I can see why Whitney fell in love with him. Shit all that gyrating he does, I'd fall in love too. And he was a cool guy.

Bobby was king of New Jack swing era(1989-92 that era was all about dancing and not the voice he was. He went platinum because of super producers Teddy Riley,Babyface,Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. With his mediocre vocals he never gotten a record deal in the 60's.If bobby was the king of R&B what was luther vandross? !!
