@MercShanks I'm a big fan of tupac shakur myself and It does sound like they sampled it from street fame. But sampling music has been around for years Tupacs Famous song "Changes" is a sample of Bruce Hornsby'ssong "theWay it is"
This almost sounds like "Lilly Elias My Last Notes", the girl who did the commercial song for the Audi commercial. These two songs are probably my favorite for randomly catching 30 seconds of in a commercial.
I dont see why every time someone samples music people get pissed. This has been going since the start of music. The easiest way to make a good is to sometimes use someone else's master piece. 2 Pac probably wouldnt have cared that a 30 second commercial partially sampled a beat
From everything I've looked up it seems that sadly this was only composed for the commercial. If anyone finds out differently please let us know. But I did find someone who loved the song so much they extended it. Maybe this will help satiate us for now.
Youtube won't let me post the link for some reason so look up on youtube "It's A Lenovo (Remastered #2) by woodchuck498
its not 2pac its not even his sample the melody sample in his mix comes from a classical pianioist exercising the fingers and it was thrown together and recorded in an artistic mainor in other words its not stolen if someone else plays it. you cant copywrite part of a track sample especially when its not even the exsact same track sample
It's similar to the 2pac song, but it's still substantially different.
The 2pac song repeats 2 consecutive notes and then proceeds down the lower end of the scale. The tune for the commercial holds a note, proceeds to higher notes before repeating the phrase, and ends very, very differently.
@tiamat9989 the song is called street fame. As soon as I heard this commercial on tv, the first thing that popped in my head was street fame.... I like this beat a lot though.... That Choir voice is amazing.
Yeah! Any idea who made/arranged this commercial version? I'm really interested in finding the artist's other work, even if copied from other sources...
@SapphireBlaze9 its 2011, the original song was made in 1996 or before, thats 15 years dude, plus how can you compare a beat to the song? The samples are the same, not the beat!
@userguym if you think tupac didnt write his music, your daft, his beats were made by johnny j etc, a rappers job is to rap, not to make new tracks... everyone needs to calm down its only a beat its not like another rapper used it, its just a commercial add!!
@maddwopp... It does kinda sound like her huh? But I think the knife's leader singer is my distinct.... Haha who knows... I really wasn't looking for the song... More like looking fir the artist. Wish there was an app to figure it out for us ;p
and this song is kinda similiar to the song street fame but all in all about the fifth note in the pianoi roll is different making it sound quite unipue
There's many electro indie band that has a similar style and voice. Her voice sound like the ladytron's lead singer. Who knows... Shrugs* let me know when you guys find out.... I know this voice but I can't seem to figure it out!
@juliebooty Does sound close to ladytron but, I think it's Karin Elisabeth Dreijer Andersson fever ray, the knife lead singer?(Of course I am not sure, we are all here for the same reason lol)
@MercShanks You know its pretty funny how its ok for tupac to sample other peoples song in his music but if someone samples tupacs music everyone gets pissed. WTF?
@winnryautomail when has he done that? the point is that he's dead, and i'm sure they didn't buy rights to the tune because they changed it a little bit. and he's not getting credit for any of it.
just look at the comments. nobody knows he made the beat.
@MercShanks Are you kidding me? Ghetto Gospel has Elton John samples in it, and his song changes..thats not even his music its Bruce Hornsby's music from the song The way it is. SO YEAH...he is guilty of copying and stealing music too.
@winnryautomail tupac didnt sample anyones song, not when he was alive, nas sampled his, " all eyez on me" beat in "street dreams", read up before you speak.
@donyasserdon Are you stupid? Did you not even bother to look up the songs I said he had samples in? Cause he did in fact sample two other peoples songs in his songs. Hes a rapper, not a musician. Plus hes dead..good ridence. One less wanna be gangster off the street.
@winnryautomail Wannabe gangster off the street? I guess that makes you a wanna be gangsta over the net- Pussy! Thats what i said if you can read you blind cunt, i said his jobs to rap with the beat, not to make a beat, his beats were made by johnny j, dr dre etc... He copied mobb deeps track in "troublesome", as a diss. And for your info he has millions of fans and he had a big affect, but mate, who the fuck are you? Know one knows you so stop hating on a multi millionaire, stupid cunt.
@winnryautomail oh so the hood rat earned MULTI MILLION POUNDS by the age of 25? will see where you are chav. He was too stupid for college? LMAO, read his poems, his lyrics, his actions, the gutss he had, dont mistake me im not gay, but he had a mind of a genius, one in a million, so shut the fuck up and stop acting as if you are more than him, with al due respect, fuck off.
@MercShanks The piano and beat sound similar, but no, it's not. And you do know that when commercials use songs made by someone else, they get permission, right? Because yes, they WOULD be sued for copyright infringement.
@MercShanks They probably got permission to use it, just like every other commercial that has a song in it has done. So what's your problem? There's nothing to sue them for.
@MercShanks its called borrowing a riff...noone is able to always make their own riff...plus im sure they had permission, otherwise they wouldnt be able to show it on TV
If someone can post a better audio quality recording of this commercial, I can make a better quality (and possibly longer too) remastered version than the one I already posted on my page.
@HavokBeoulve i think it was made for just this commercial....i searched too......listen carefully ..i dont think it's english..btw this song is really beautiful!
ok so I posted an extended version I whipped up in FL Studio 9 and Adobe Soundbooth CS4 in my channel. Its nothing great, but I felt it would be best to only use audio from the commercial so it's still a bit short of becoming a full song.
Check out the video woodchuck498 just uploaded, looks like he took the audio and remastered it. So it's not the actual full song ( if there even is one ) but it does sound pretty awesome! check it out!
I think the song was written for this commercial specifically. It's pretty common for commercials to have music written specifically for them.
