He joking talks about proposing but you can tell he was serious about kristen even then. He looks away hurt when Kristen says "good buddy" comment. A couple of movies later at Eclipse premiere they were constantly near each other, before or after the party. They are in it for the long haul and no amount of few bad apples can ruin that kind of mature relationship.
