Been having a michael pitt feast after watching him on boardwalk empire and being blown away by how good an actor he had become. I would never have imagined that this grungy indie kid could have convincingly played a 1920's gangster.
I remember seeing last days when it came out, and generally thinking it was good. The scene with Kim Gordon breaks my heart.
Micheal is great in it. Really holds your attention. Physically he plays it perfectly.

@TheShitfobrains I met Nick Stahl at a convention a few years ago and told him one of my favorite movies he was in was Bully. He was surprised because of the lack of recognition for the film. Every actor was amazing in that movie and I find it sad no one really knows about it. Michael Pitt's role was CLASSIC! I love the part when he was telling the "hitman" about how crazy the guy he dropped acid w\and played mortal kombat was.

@jacobladders understand ur issue and totally agree with the behaving like kurt thing. But u know that (good)actors go thru this period post-filming where they kinda keep th character within them for a while. specially if he really worked on it like watching loads of interviews and worked hard on the body expression. It is hard to let go the character. I'm a huge kurt fan and i really admired the way he reproduced kurt's body language. Of course u can totally see it isn't him but still there was

I'm not an actress but i think the role you're playing has to have some impact on your psychic, definitely. Look at the case of Heath Ledger, his depression probably started during the filming of Dark Knight. I wonder how did he feel during the Funny Games shooting. But he is a good actor. the movie "last days" isnt about kurt cobain its about kurt cobains last days...the movie was a legal as it could be courtney love didnt allow them to use anything that had kurt cobain on it such as the name of the main charcter

i don't care what anybody says i liked that movie. and i'm not suggesting that anybody see it either, because i can definately see why so many people dislike this film as well. for me, sometimes i will enjoy a film, but at the same time i cannot validate my reasons for liking it.
everything in art is craft and becoming so chiche these days... all actors say the same thing... the whole 'it's not a biopic' thing... this movie made me ambivalent by definition... 'it's not based on fact' though a lot of the movie was obviously derivative of books and stories about kurt... and gus van vant has too many redundant gay scenes in films like 'elephant' and 'last days...' if the kids from colombine were sexually mature enough to make love, they wouldn't have done what they did...

i hated this movie too!!! It was the worst, most boring film i ever saw!!! it was even painful to watch i had to turn it off half way. You obviously didn't catch any of the creativity that went into making the film. The long spands of time of uncut footage were to put you into the same mind frame as Blake (lonely, empty, lost). The film was also meant to be focused on the desperately artistic and beautiful side of Pitt's character and less on the storyline... that's the reason the film seems to be going nowhere, because BLAKE is going nowhere. The film is anything BUT lacking creativity!

If you're refering to the cover picture as being "Kurt's picture", I assure you that it's Michael Pitt. And the story goes nowhere because the character isn't. @Sarahleaf Don't sensationalize Kurt, he hated the idea of people seeing him as a product of the MTV culture. Nirvana was over at that point in his life, and he was moving on to do music you would probably find unbearable (A more bluesy feel, ala Ledbelly). Read his journals, he didn't feel like anyone understood him, not even his friends and family. You want to glorify him and make him into something he is not. This is what he hated so much, and what made him feel isolated from everyone.

everything in art is craft and becoming so chiche these days... all actors say the same thing... the whole 'it's not a biopic' thing... this movie made me ambivalent by definition... 'it's not based on fact' though a lot of the movie was obviously derivative of books and stories about kurt... and gus van vant has too many redundant gay scenes in films like 'elephant' and 'last days...' if the kids from colombine were sexually mature enough to make love, they wouldn't have done what they did...

i hated this movie too!!! It was the worst, most boring film i ever saw!!! it was even painful to watch i had to turn it off half way. Its insulting to have this related to Kurt Cobain in any way. they portrayed his life as such a boring waste of space. the people who made it have no creativity and were trying to surf on the coat tails of a brilliant artist. they could've just made it without kurts reference and left it as a stupid movie(if they'd have done this it wouldnt have pissed me off

You obviously didn't catch any of the creativity that went into making the film. The long spands of time of uncut footage were to put you into the same mind frame as Blake (lonely, empty, lost). The film was also meant to be focused on the desperately artistic and beautiful side of Pitt's character and less on the storyline... that's the reason the film seems to be going nowhere, because BLAKE is going nowhere. The film is anything BUT lacking creativity!

Nirvana was over at that point in his life, and he was moving on to do music you would probably find unbearable (A more bluesy feel, ala Ledbelly). Read his journals, he didn't feel like anyone understood him, not even his friends and family. You want to glorify him and make him into something he is not. This is what he hated so much, and what made him feel isolated from everyone.

I thought last days was the worse film I ever saw...It was a terrible take on the last days of Kurt Cobain...I am a HUGE nirvana fan, but the way that movie portrayed "Kurt" and the band was WAY off.
