Huh, this didn't present an argument or stats. So here's some: Apple uses proprietary software and hardware recognition systems which means the system is not as customizable and supports less third party software while at the same time driving production prices up.
Every single Mac product is inferior to its competition in every way if compaired price for price. But don't compare to Dell, compare to the 4.0 ghz 6 core, 8gb RAM 1 tb HD computer you could assemble yourself for half the price.
as a designer i prefer mac, as a gamer i prefer pc. but if i had to choose i would go with Mac based on the fact that ive had no system crashes or viruses in the 8 months ive had it. Where as, ive had to countless crashes and 2 reboots in a year. Mac wins on system stability.
I'm pretty sure that my 27" 1440p iMac with the Intel Core i5 2.67GHz with 4600mhz FSB, 4gb of DDR3 ram (up to 16gb) ATI Radeon HD4850 and my 1TB hdd hard drive can't do more than internet browsing, sure......
I can play any games(via the new Mac's Steam and on my Bootcamp partition) and i do a lot of HD video editing. I was a PC user before. Switched a few months ago, totally don't regret it.
well imac is a beast computer and probaly does beat xps in a way but i still think the xps one has a nice sleek beautiful design to it that makes it look so much more notorious than the imac.

I was running Vista on a Dell XPS, like the one in this video...So i think it was pretty decent hardware, and there wasn't anything wrong with the hardware because i downgraded to XP after and it worked fine. And Leopard was not $129. I dont know what it is in US$ because im British, but i bought it for £20 in the Apple store back in 2007. And im not gonna go back to 3.0 because i own Macs, I said 3.0 was better than Vista.

When Leopard in the UK was £20 when it came out. And i don't hate Vista because its slow, i hate it because of all the glitches and drivers i had to download. The iMac can have upto 32GB of RAM, but only goes upto 16GB in the Apple store, but if you open it up you can change it to 32.

i'm gonna switch to mac eventually. i've been having a ton of problems with this (hardware). i want to eventually replace it with the macbook since they were updated to higher specs. i wish there was a way i could get it with tiger though. i may sound crazy but tiger was an awesome os. i wasn't a huge fan with leopard + snow leopard. we have a mac mini as my desktop computer.
Leopard was not 200. Snow Leopard was 20 for an upfrade, Windows 7 is 200 for an upgrade. But Mac OS X has at least 10 free upgrades before the next OS. 10.6.1, 10.6.2...etc.

I think people underestimate vista. I'm running vista on 64 bit and it's pretty good. Now i do come across problems time to time but they are but fuck easy to fix. Another thing is people have the idea that computers are perfect when you open the box. Nothing is that perfect EVERYTHING needs a bit of fine tooning drop a program add another and the 3 or so anti virsu programs you use.
just update to Windows 7, it's way better than Vista and XP, i'm really satisfied with its performance so far, everything is stable and smooth as hell, faster than custom XPs as well and i've used more than 10 different custom ones.

Actually, with Boot Camp, almost any Mac can run almost any Windows OS. I have MacBook 4.1 and I'm running the RC for Windows 7 on a different partition. So, learn what you complain about before you do it there Scooter.

As for programs that cost too much, Macs actually have cheaper software. iWork is only 80 bucks vs. 150 bucks for Office. iLife comes with a Mac and doesn't come with a PC, and iLife has the value of very expensive PC software. You don't have to buy a computer if you want to keep up with technology, with pcs you can just swap out the parts.
PCs have a lot more3rd party peripheral support.
Installing windows on a mac is pointless if you want to keep the Virus free argument.

In 2007, Mac OS 10.5 can run 32GB of RAM. 3 years before Windows Seven on Mac Pro.
Now with OS 10.6 you can theorically run 16TB of RAM. ;)

Leopard was not 200. Snow Leopard was 20 for an upfrade, Windows 7 is 200 for an upgrade. But Mac OS X has at least 10 free upgrades before the next OS. 10.6.1, 10.6.2...etc.

I think people underestimate vista. I'm running vista on 64 bit and it's pretty good. Now i do come across problems time to time but they are but fuck easy to fix. Another thing is people have the idea that computers are perfect when you open the box. Nothing is that perfect EVERYTHING needs a bit of fine tooning drop a program add another and the 3 or so anti virsu programs you use.

just update to Windows 7, it's way better than Vista and XP, i'm really satisfied with its performance so far, everything is stable and smooth as hell, faster than custom XPs as well and i've used more than 10 different custom ones.

the 20 inch imac is awesome i just got it and i love it my mom has the dell and it just sux! ther r so many glitches! tht means tht the imac is better o and uu can run windows on a mac so u can play video games on it

I have both a Gateway PC running Windows Vista
and an 24in iMac that I just got. I love them both but as far as speed and graphics on photos and for video editing...its Mac for the win!

@sting8426951 windows is more flexible. MAC is a better platform for reliablility. If I was going to set up an internet radio station, or worked in a place where computer reliability was paramount, and could afford freeze ups and crashes, I'd choose the MAC

Actually, with Boot Camp, almost any Mac can run almost any Windows OS. I have MacBook 4.1 and I'm running the RC for Windows 7 on a different partition. So, learn what you complain about before you do it there Scooter.

mac is all about brand name.
performance can be enhanced more with pc, mac has alot less customization and programs that cost way too much. (yes ik u can download them).
PC is for me, although ive never used anything other than my dell.

If you've never owned a Mac before, how can you just say they're bad just like that? As for programs that cost too much, Macs actually have cheaper software. iWork is only 80 bucks vs. 150 bucks for Office. iLife comes with a Mac and doesn't come with a PC, and iLife has the value of very expensive PC software. And iLife integrates with Mac OS X very well, whilst some PC software does not integrate with Windows.

Apple = fail? Huh. Funny. Considering Apple has been around longer than Dell and it's shares are higher I would think Apple is far from failing. Oh right...it is. I went to Dell's webiste and did some customizing on their laptops. One, they're ugly as hell. Two, most of the "more customization" is useless stuff that don't really affect how the computer operates. If you aren't willing to pay 1500 to 2000 for a computer than you can get a 600-900 dollar one. You get what you pay for...

The Intel switch allowed apple to run a Windows OS on Leopard. Microsoft had no problems licensing there products to Apple.

honestly i love dell and apple both. You need to consider the operating systems and the way they function. In My personal taste i would buy a imac before any crappy dell wanna be. I am a leopard and a vista user and have no complaints. i seem to like leopard more for digital life, but as far a work goes i would rather type a document on windows any day of the week

It looks better than the usual Dells but then again, it's design is copied from the iMac. Why inovate if you can copy (in this case they still fucked up). And on top of that it runs Windows. Dude, are you serious? I suggest you go to DELL and Apple and actually COMPARE both systems before you say something. Even the screen is so bad that you can't use it for professional design or video editing (color correction).

The Dell looks cool and has cool featues that the iMac doesn't have like the media control buttons. But the iMac looks so much sleeker!!!! It also has leopard! I prefer leopard! Vista is ok but still.....leopard! I am also saying one is not better than the other! So lets leave it at that!

Please people! Everyone knows windows is for doing business. People would feel guilty if they had fun at work.
Macs have their place (fun, happiness, just get it done like it's supposed to, no crashes, no viruses, faster shortcuts, easier to navigate) and Windows have their place too ("END NOW" prompts, crashes, blue screen of death, stalling for no reason at all, a lot, no A LOT of crappy third party programs, extremely un-user-friendly).
Yeah, Dell is cool but ONLY because it supports Ubuntu
