  • Great scene

  • 12 people missed pudge fisk's homerun to have a fawken drink with some lady they nevah met

  • I'm a yankee fan and I love this!

  • This is one of my favorite movies ever!, can't believa they made that movie 15 years ago, the script is just perfect as well as the performances and casting. Just a perfect movie.

  • The year I stopped watching the oscars was when Titanic won best picture over Good Will Hunting; it still amazes me now how superior this movie is to fucking Titanic!! Good Will Hunting is one of the very few movies I can rate 10/10, to me this movie is perfect.

  • Is his math wrong about the number of years

  • Pussy > baseball

  • THE DAY I SAID "WHY DO YOU NEED TO KEEP YOU HAND ON MY BACK, ITS ANNOYING AND I CANT SLEEP". HE SAID "I NEED TO KNOW YOUR THERE" ----- 6 YEARS THEN DRUGS TOOK HIM BACK.

  • This almost makes up for RV.

  • A lot of this scene was improvised acting. Two awesome actors.

  • @Nanotech92 You're close, Matt and Ben wanted a thriller about the government wanted Will to be an agent cuz of his genius, but I think it was Rob Reiner who said they should make it a drama. Good choice, if you ask me!

  • 36 years ago today

  • robin williams just might be the most underrated acterof all time!

  • @slimithy13 lol how is he underrated? everyone loves him!

  • @reciboi but how many of those people would put him in their top 5 or top 10 list?

  • @slimithy13

agreed. He has made a lot of great movies. my two favourites ; what dreams my come an patch adams.

  • "No, I didn't chahge the fuckin' field! I was back at the bah, having a drink w/my future wife!"

  • just been watching this (for probably the 500th time) and was suddenly thinking maybe what is important about regret is not what you do regret but what you don't. thats kinda what this scene is about isn't it...never regret taking a chance at something.

  • @hfontane I took psycology in high school and that was actually a statistic that i saw. Whenever you ask an old person what they regret about their life, they never regret something they did. They always regret the things they didnt do. Unless they are on death row or something

  • would be nice to catch that game, no

  • The dialogue in this movie is outstanding.

  • Die - Hard Yankee fan, and this is still from of my favorite scenes from any movie of all time.

  • Or you could be lucky and it's not a fantasy, you do get married, and you stick it out because that's what a real man will do. My husband would give up everything for one more day with me, unfortunately he may have to. I don't see him as a desperate loser, I see him as untouched by the world of series, the one in a million who would hold my hand as they tell me I'm going to die. If you are the type to take advice from a youtube post, never give up the chance to love.

  • I love this scene. Two guys from different generations chewing the fat.

  • matt damon was sooo youngggg

  • So much attention to detail. Check out the opening shot. It looks like a baseball diamond

  • @CoolBeagle

    Great Acting, Great WRITING.

    Ahmazing Movie

  • beginning of a sweet song, too. between the bars by elliott smith <3

  • this was the same year hi film flugger :D

    hes a genious

  • Robin williams was brilliant

  • This is the best scene in the movie.

  • I lost my wife and this is one of my favorite scenes of all time. difficult for me to watch, but a very important scene for me.

  • Wanna have fun? Click on the "CC" button and enable "Transcribe Audio" then repeat the scene.

I almost gave myself a hernia laughing. :))

  • @thebarzangi lol my god, thats the funniest thing i have ever read. whats going on with transcribe audio! lmao

  • @thebarzangi dude that was soo funny

  • I haven't even seen the movie, but just with the scenes I've seen on here so far, I'm kind of surprised that Damon's character is so evenly matched with William's. Damon is a super genius that puts even those of us who are moderately intelligent to shame, yet he evenly matches the pyschiatrist enough to use psychiatric tricks back on him lol.

  • Robin Williams Masterpiece Performance.

  • Another Best Scene. NO REGRETS!

Not even for BOSOX Game 6! "HE HAD TO GO TO SEE ABOUT A GIRL"

  • Man Matt Damon and ben affleck are geniuses for writing and acting the whole thing themselves.

  • Keep in mind I'm neither a Red Sox nor a Yankees fan...but it's funny how the Bosox fans LOVE to remember this game, but what they like to forget is that they end up losing this series :)

  • @brayden647 the problem was that before they won the series back in '04 (against my beloved Cardinals) this was the greatest game in the history of BoSox baseball

  • And that's how life is done. ;)

  • great this story have changed my life

  • "Wow...would have been nice to catch that game though?"

"I didn't know Pudge was gonna hit a home run..."

    I just love that.

  • It's really mind blowing how disgustingly good this scene is (along with the rest of the movie). It's almost unfair to any aspiring writers to try and recreate this film's magic.

  • Hollywood really needs to learn how to write scripts again. Not the same recycled bullshit

  • @VerbatimFIRE I get in a discussion about this almost every time I'm with my friends. I always comment about that kids shows are more funny than adult comedies, they are more cleaver and have better dialog, because thats all they have, adult "humor" now-a-days is about sex and fart jokes, it is retarded. The reason is, back in the day, the writers for tv and movies grew up on radio, so it was all scripts and dialog for them, it wasn't all visual humor like it is today.

  • i wish i'll have a love like that...

  • hey affleck-- MORE good will hunting. LESS gigli.

  • @foxhanson write some new jokes

the guy redeemed himself with Hollwoodland, the Company Men, State of Play and The Town which will be in the best picture race so get some new material wanker

  • this movie really shows the depth of Robin Williams, hell of an actor

  • between the bars.

  • Aflek n Damon should write more. thumbs up if u agree

  • @SoM6666 rounders 2 mother fucker :D

  • @SoM6666 Affleck does write my friend.

  • @SoM6666 Actually, am not sure if this is true, but they wanted to do an action thriller of this and whatever production company that did this film, wanted to make something more out of it and got a writer to draft up something else. am not sayin this is true, jus sayin i read it somewhere

  • @SoM6666 I heard back in the day when I was in the Hollywood inside circles that Matt and Ben DIDN'T write this script on their own. But I don't know the truth of it. I don't know. If they actually had the skills to write this masterpiece, they'd have written something else since, don't you think? Damon is a really smart guy. I don't know much about Ben. There will probably be lingering doubt about who wrote this forever. I wish it could just be settled once and for all.

  • gibt es diesen Ausschnitt auch in der deutschen Version???

  • Partisan movies are obnoxious. This move was done by lefties who think they're smarter than they are. A Beautiful Mind was done from a right wing POV with that same pretense. It's like listening to two people relate a story and each version makes the person telling it look good.

  • @ion010101

god forbid anyone look good in a story...

  • @Invisiblefiyah Yeah, if it's a distortion of the truth.

  • @ion010101

its called showbusiness? not partisan politics lol. a beautiful mind wouldntve made as much money if they revealed the truth of his homosexuality tendencies and accurately described schizophrenia.

  • @Invisiblefiyah Some people had to be told about, "Queen".

  • i dont care if helena troy walks in its GAME 6!

  • @deadenemy40 Helen Of Troy

  • This scene shows perfectly how much of a kid Mat's character is...

  • this scene makes you wanna laugh and cry at the same time : )

    Great Acting

  • @CoolBeagle yeah. i definitely just did both :)

  • @CoolBeagle A lot of it had to have been improvised.

  • @CoolBeagle great acting and script, this movie is all good !

  • awesome movie!

  • OH GOD! Ive always loved that scene, ever since i saw it at the theater 13 years ago ( I was a kid back then).

But little did i know back then, that the music ai was listening was Elliott Smith's. "Between the Bars" my fav- song, and in such a great scene

  • (Will) You Know I Read Your Book Last Night..

(Sean) Oh So You're The One..... LOL

  • Scene should have ended at 2.39.

  • @irishosaru is that a joke?

  • @MarioBrosClassic

No, i don't think we needed to hear about how how much he loved his wife - we knew all that already. I'd prefer Damon's character to work that out for himself rather than just being told it.

  • Thumbs up if you first thought this movie was about hunting.

  • @TaskMaster619

    yes lol

  • How do you write a movie this good and than never write or star in a movie better?

  • @lukeallyn Well Damon did star in some amazing movies, such as The Departed, Talented Mr. Ripley, Bourne Series, Ocean Eleven, and so on...it's Ben Affleck who rather fell down the "star" spiral and kind of screwed up his own career for a while.

  • Hollywood corrupts the vision.

  • this is so fucking epic :D

  • This movie is unbelievably good with its subtleties. Will sat at the other end of the room during the first few sessions with Sean, and in this scene he starts sitting right next to him. That tells a lot about their growing friendship with no words used.

  • @starshock12

    I never noticed that,nice spotting:)

  • Love this scene^^

  • ***

  • I love this amazing movie it has many if not all great scenes

  • His wife farted in her sleep?

  • awesome quality

  • This is a great story and all but it's clear that Robin William's character has violated article one of The Bro Code: Bros before hoes. I wouldn't trust him in a combat situation.

  • @Perkinator3000 genuine LOL

  • this movie is probably my fav movie of all time ! this scene is my favourite. robin williams is one hell of an actor. he should do more drama roles

  • Is it just me or is Robin Williams just the most amazing person ever? haha

  • Its a classic. Thanks.

  • "I can't believe you had tickets to that fucking game! Did you rush the field?" "Nah I didn't rush the fucking field I wasen't there." Lol gotta love Williams and Damon, two great amazing actors. Can't say Affleck, is a great actor, although his acting in this movie is better than his acting in his other movies. He writes better movies than acting in movies and Damon, writes good movies and acts amazing.

  • You shoulda seen her. She was a STUNNER.

  • aww man, missing a game because of a chick is weak man. There is going to be another girl that is better, always.

  • @dirx103 missing the woman of your life is weak. There's always another great game, and there's TIVO and DVD that you can replay ad infinitum.

  • powerful scene

  • It's not your fault.

  • @lucidatheist Dont do this to me man! Not you man!

  • @MrZombieHand

    It's not your fault.

  • Fantastic Scene from a Fantastic Movie

  • Now now, I know both cards and frankalin want to get there two cents in when commenting on this scene (the people below me), but you got to let others talk. Do something useful in your life and stop commenting! That goes for the both of you.

  • lol i love his face whaen he says"...what?"

    (1:56)

  • So YOU are THE ONE....!?!?! The Woman I Had a Drink with that I had Never Met......I gotta see about a girl.....

  • Hey, "Franklallani".....You're an IDIOT!!!!

  • says the guy who cant type a name thats right in front of him correctly. franklallani?

i understood what he meant, i was just messin with it. youre obviously the idiot who's another dime a dozen jackass with no originality and will never amount to anything beyond insulting others over youtube. in short, a waste of life. start the car with the garage door shut and save us from your pathetic arrogance.

  • Call the Kettle Black...."FRANKALANI"!!!!! There...is THAT CORRECT YOU HYPOCRITE!?!?!?

  • it is correct. good to see that your learning and are capable of progress. Next lesson, dont use the term "hypocrite" if you dont know how to properly. there was nothing hypocritical about my statement.

  • "FRANKALANI"!!!!! Actually it WASN'T CORRECT DIPSHIT......"frankkalani" You don't even know your own profile name......HYPOCRITE!!!!

  • ohhh you got me there trickster. big whoop. still arent using hypocrite properly imbecile.

  • frankkalani wrote: "I understood what he meant, i was just messin with it."....UH...That is the blatant definition of "hypocrisy"...."BIG WHOOP"!!!

  • say one thing when you feel a different way about it. dont confuse hypocrisy with messing around. youre thinking on a different level. if youre correct then almost every lie and joke is hypocritical. youre being vaguely literal. hypocisy wouldt not apply to this matter. youre out of line and a moron. grow up infant.

  • @cards79 Not that I am dizzing you or anything, but being a hypocrite means to profess something which you do follow.

Like, if I say "God is great and you should obey him" but I don't believe in God and I walk around with hookers while drinking on 'The Sabbath' or something of sorts, that's being a hypocrite.

  • "thats regret"

thats not regretting. he went on about how he didnt regret being with his wife all that time and in the end he says thats regret. what the hell robbie you just said all that shit about it not being regret then turn around and say it is.

  • @frankkalani i think he was being sarcastic

  • if the red sox wouldve won game 7 of that series i bet he wouldve wished he went

  • That is beautiful.

    It made me cry.

  • OMFG!!!!! I've had soooooo many shit days at work--yet I remember ALL the dayz I worked with Becca and Kristy!!!! Cheers!!!! GB5K

  • "No I didn't rush the fuckin field, I wasn't there..."

  • sometimes i forget how amazing this movie is

  • My friend's dad was at that game.

  • man Between the Bars was just starting to play......................gotta rent this film again.

  • Ladies do that to you. I bought tickets to the biggest rave event of the year 2003. And gave it up and went into town with my lady and just talked. Just like that no questions no thought.

  • god dammit this movie is incredible.

I still can't believe Aflek and Damon wrote it

  • It was Damon who wrote it, everyone knows that! ;)

    Affleck just leeched!

  • "Is there anymore pot?"

  • @Bulldog22031

Affleck couldn't write his own name.

  • @BreakRightIntoHeaven Yea I think it's clear that Damon did the lion's share of the writing.

  • @Bulldog22031

Affleck and Damon only wrote the first draft. It was heavily edited by a professional writer.

  • @houndofzeus Every famous written in the past 60 years is the same thing. Vonnegut, Thompson, Kerouac... the story is theirs and the amazing quotes are theirs. Most likely the editor just helped it get into movie format.

  • @Bulldog22031 Because Damon wrote it alone. Affleck made marks and suggestions. He gave him the credit because he encouraged the finishing of the script after Damon wrote 50 pages for college. He pitched ideas, but he didn't actually write it.

  • @cobybcdude for me that was instinvely an evidence

damon affleck... one was generous with the other

    let you guess who?

  • @ipi223 Not sure what you're saying, but I think you're saying that because Damon got billed first, you immediately drew the conclusion that Affleck didn't write it? I mean, that's the case here, but I don't think that's a good system of basis for most films. Damon wrote most of the film on his own based on his own experiences at Harvard and with his then-girlfriend. Affleck had almost nothing to do with the writing, although this is one of his best roles as an actor.

  • @Bulldog22031 it was originally supposed to be about a guy living in the suburbs with superior intelligence and the government wanting him to become a special agent, but they changed the plot to fit with the time

  • @MrNobodyGivesAFuck Right, that's where "A beautiful Mind" picked up... sort of.

  • @Bulldog22031 Why? They're both brilliant in their own right.

  • @nocashmofucka They have BEEN brilliant before, but Aflek has made some HORRIBLE movies, Damon, on the other hand, is a damn good actor (when he isn't playing the same character over and over again -- see Jason Bourne)

  • @Bulldog22031

Affleck did direct Gone Baby Gone though, which was frigging great!

And now there's The Town, haven't seen it, heard good things, but I'm remaining skeptical.

  • @degree7 Never saw Gone baby gone, and the town looks pretty generic to me.

And like I said, he has done some GREAT stuff, but he also managed to be in one of the worst movies of all time ...Gigli

  • @Bulldog22031

Aw man, do yourself a favour and watch GBG. It's definitely worth it.

  • @Bulldog22031 The Town is actually good, nothing generic about it. Great script, and great directing.

  • @Bulldog22031 Actually, Damon wrote it.. Afflek just sat on the couch smoking weed.

  • @Mike3303 lame family guy reference man.

  • @Bulldog22031 They did...!?

  • sorry guys, but I gotta go see about a girl.

  • great scene.... man i wish i was a love-drunk boston irishman in the 80's.

  • My first girlfriend was a lesbian who used me to "act" like she was straight around her parents. I didn't even know she was gay for the 3 years we "dated" in college. My second girlfriend I ended up marrying. After 6 months I became disabled and she left me for another man and I never saw or heard from her again. Sometimes it is best to do a LOT of searching before you settle with someone. Most women are selfish and if they want to be around you it will be for a very selfish reason.

  • Some but not all, oh my friend not all.

  • i thought another choke was coming at 0:19

  • haha that was a good one.

but he can't do the choke without another "I will endd youuuuu!" line

  • Robin Williams is a brilliant actor.

  • i iz arent.

  • How come it can be so easy ? like yeah this girl is perfect why dont i just go and talk to her...damn sometimes its the hardest thing to do...but still you dont wanna regret XD

  • don't forget that this is a movie...finding a woman that is 'perfect for you' will take trial and error and most of all, time

  • it would've been nice to catch that game tho.

pfft, i didnt know pudge was gonna hit a home run.

    haha

  • True love comes to you in many different but beautiful ways.

  • October 16th 2004 thats when I knew.

  • go on son!

  • LMFAO.

  • im sorry that is wrong

  • This scene was almost entirely done on the fly, just really tells you how good these actors are at what they do

  • i love this scene its so real and the two of them together on screen it couldnt have been any better.

  • ... sorry world, i gotta see about a girl ...

  • I don't know. I would've gone to the game instead.

  • Will need to see a pic of his wife before i make the judgement.

  • He said he looked into her eyes and he knew. He didn't check out her measurements. Sometimes you get superficial and miss depth.

  • sure he did it just would not be that nicel saying it jajaj
