Can you make a tutorial on one that uses redstone pixels? If so, you'll be one of the first to see why I need one. Don't worry, I have the memory covered and all that nice stuff. But the mod that this secret project uses doesn't like pistons.
I'm working on a secret project in my labarotory test world. I'm not gonna reveal the details, but can you make a tutorial on making a GPU? I've got the memory covered, but I dunno how to use (or build) a GPU with that.
@crafter681 If you can make this, you can make that. But it's nigh impossible none the less- You'd need to create a coding system that runs in minecraft from the ground up, and it'd have to be similar to javascript, which is pretty complex. Plus PLAYING the game would be impossible xD
um... if you can afford a computer that large n minecraft couldnt you just buy a bigger screen? i mean come on for the most advanced computer in the world it looks like HAL9000 put next to GLaDoS
Wow, so this is it, the very limit of what a minecraft computer can do, what's next? A video game in a video game? Omg space invaders, that would be epic XD
That's a Frigging MASS of redstone. Now just imagine if a creeper decides to explode all of a sudden... under 500 tons of wiring... where you cant tell what happened...*creeper trollface*
@nodoubtyamean There are no interrupts. The input goes to a register that can be read by the CPU at anytime. Video may come this weekend, depending on what my course work load is for the weekend.
Awesome work, but like others have said, it is a bit slow. Is it by any chance running Windows in the background, then the word processor you've made?
I saw a video of instant long range transference of redstone current using sticky pistons to transmit power through a block. The result is a clock giving power to 4 "machines" all in a series. Clock powered machine 1, output of machine 1 powered machine 2, output of machine 2 powered machine 3, and output of machine 3 powered machine 4.
All 4 machines were functioning at the exact same time with 0 delay.
Maybe if you implement that feature, you could upgrade your CPU's processing power.
@geramul Dude it allready is... It is the exact same stuff computers/almost all technology is made of. So redstone is a study tool for computer students
@Denneon84 I am guessing you created a decimal seven segment display. Did you go through the Binary > BCD method. If so, did you use the double dapple (value check, if 5 or more add 3 then shift, if 4 or less shift) algorithm method? I am having trouble implementing that in minecraft, although I have done it several times in The Power Toy, which is a similar program, just 2D.
@CronosXIIII I did no Binary -> BCD. Would have been WAY to slow. Instead the each character is encoded in binary like ASCII. Binary 0-9 for numbers and 10-36 for the alphabet. The input from the keyboard is stored in a register that I can reset or access whenever. I send that to a 6->64 decoder and use that to choose the shape of the character and send that to 8 3x5 registers that control pixels. So no seven segment, or BCD. Numbers > 15 (hex) 9 (dec) are best done by the seven segments in hex.
meanwhile in my brain... "okay, big deal, this is a big, slow computer, wait! holy shit i would never be willing to do this, well at least without breaking my brain"
