  • There is lots of HEALTHY models that eat!!! and yes there is models that are under weight but people follow there dreams and they make there choices!!!!!!

  • You are obviously clueless as to what high fashion models look like. sure you may find some anorexics, but a large majority of high fashion models are healthy, and look good. its called stereotyping. most of all you people who are bitching about models being anorexic are just fat fucks. face it

  • wtf kind of boss tells you to not eat lmao

  • Im 16 years old and I think I'd like to model. I am 5'10" and 115lbs. I wear a size 00.

My father is very very thin naturally and my mother is curvy. Sometimes kids at school tell me that I need to eat, but I do. Lots! Im just small. It worries me to try and model because I dont want to judged. I'd just like to earn money by for fun stuff.

  • everyone commenting on here are soo skinny :/ i am just...eww. :(

  • im a double 0! ahahah at 6'1

  • you got it wrong lady.

  • @TheHannah175 how can she be wrong wehn she has been through it? have you? if you have quit being a wuss and get on and show your face. tell us how its supposed to be. if you know better, youve been through it, then prooooovee it.

  • Pls help me i realy want to be a model... i have all what it takes to be one. pls email me.

  • i am a model i take what you say seriously and 46 kg which im proud of cause i was 50 kg last year oh and i live in australia

  • That's one reason I didn't go into modeling, and I've noticed the changes too, what was skinny then, is too fat now !

  • guys this is old. it still happens sometime but now most won't take in models who are too skinny (well many still underweight but not frighteningly)

  • @emiilyfights Bollocks.

  • @kiribula

yes, for the biggest companies, but the majority of modelling agencies (which we do not see worldwide) will not accept it. i am too thin too model myself. they dont want to get in trouble for it now there is so much bad press.

  • shut up, my friend is size zero and she eats a large pizza all by herself!

  • I'd love to model; I'm thinking of going to classes at Color Campus. I heard that there were other kinds of modeling; I'm 5'4, so I'm too short to do high fashion modeling, but maybe petite modeling would work. I was just wondering, are there kinds of modeling that don't focus on weight so much? Does it matter which kind, petite, and others like that...do they all focus on weight so much??

    p.s. I love your videos!

  • pianopiano4444 in her blog modeling the dark side she says that some models do eat healthy but some dont. shes not implying ALL models are like this.

  • I know plenty of skinny, and healthy models. Quit saying all models act one way, they dont.

  • @pianopiano4444 Many do.

  • i still want ot be a model,sorry

  • Could not agree with you more. When I started modeling I was 135 lbs (5'8), and ended up at 86 pounds before a year had passed. Lead to a lot of eating disorder behaviors and complications. I also absolutely LOVE that you mentioned mothers talking about dieting/weighing themselves etc in front of their children. That is VERY harmful to a child and plants all sorts of seeds in their head. I know for a fact my mother doing this constantly added to my self esteem issues heavily. GREAT vlog.

  • The model industry favours the skinny look because, for the most part, the skinny look is much more attractive. In that respect it is an honest industry. But being naturally skinny is a rare trait. Some people are lucky. Unfortunately, some girls who are not naturally skinny do aspire to look like models, and so end up starving themselves to compete. The fact that being attractive is aspirational is not really the fault of the model industry, but due to a lack of female role models.

  • I'm gonna be a model but if they tell me to lose weight I'll be like fuck no! xD

    I'm 18 5'7 and 118 pounds. Is 5'7 too short? T_T

  • i wanna be a modell butt a normall onee not like herr

  • I heard they're changing the standards now, by not letting models who are too skinny model.

  • also people that dance cannot get over weight cuz they actually move around unlikeee ... ahem.

  • omg why are you wasting your time seriously your 37 do you have nothing better to do?! i am a model and i have been modeling for a while. i weigh 120 & im 5'7 but my body is curvy and NOOONE ever told me to lose weight in the modeling business. okay. modeling isn't all about being skiny. there is MANY types of models. appearnatly u would not know. so just stop with all this non sense

  • YES YES YES!

  • It's nice to see someone with experience and knowledge of the fashion industry to highligt the not so glamorous side to modelling. The girls leaving some of these comments have alot to learn.Yeah being the right weight is important but an eating disorder is not about getting to a perfect weight, its a much deeper problem than that and I hope this video helps them to see that.

  • Lolz my "ridiculously thin frame" IS natural. I'm 5'8" and 103 lbs, and I eat as much as the average person. I'm happy with my body image and it's really shitty to hear people tell me I'm disgusting or accuse me of being anorexic/bulimic.

  • *annoyed*

  • I am 13 an its important to be thine an nice no one wants to see fat rolls walking an sturting there junk on the runway !!!!!!

  • omg, If a clouths company makes clouths to make a fat girl look good, then they will look good,

instead they make stupid unpractitacal clouthing

  • @singlaprety12 *clothes, *clothing

  • errgh i wana b a model but gosh she lookz like she sticks to 1 apple a day wtf durtyness

  • Men get anorexic too..

  • i would love too be model!

but i dont think i would make it as im not like these thin girls you see im not overweight buh im not stick thin, and i think in todays world thats what you have to be to get anywhere is consistantly weight weight weight 27/4!!

Modelling is what i really want to do,i mean my idol is katie price, but i dont want to end up like some of these girls, it makes you sick to look really, how thin they acutally are its unreal. Great video btw :D x

  • Your a beautiful woman...In my world we like those girlz that are thick and real....We call girlz that look like that "sucked~up"....They're either "tweekers" or sick {A.I.D.S. , OR Mental}...I love squeezin' me a meaty healthy woman.. ;}..

  • Thank you very much. My mother is an AMAZING woman...but I dont think she realized that her worrying so much about her weight, affected me. She was a leader in weight watchers.

I "recovered" from 7 years of anorexia Nervosa.

I think if more mothers saw this, the amount of children who develope eating disorders could potentially decrease.

  • Wow, you seem like a really amazing mother/person.

It's great that you daughter said that!

  • i think you should be a model you look really cute

  • ok well i support you and i get what you are saying but not all models are like that. my cousin is a model and a size 2 and she is 16 and healthy.

  • Ok thanks for the advise but you are probably making all the skinny people feel like crap like I do now i am skinny (not that skinny but still) The only reason they look like that is cause they told your to fat but that depends on the modeling place so go get a life and stop doing these videos what if that girls friend looked at this and showed her do you know how bad she would feel?! now you sould go get a life!

  • She's obviously not being mean to thin people. She's not a heavy woman, herself. If you would listen, all she's saying is that you have make sure you're healthy. The girl in those pictures wasn't healthy, no one can be healthy at a weight like that, just like no one can be healthy at 700 pounds. The media is pushing this ultra-thin image in the face of women and saying "this is how you should be" and that's not right. It's not possible and it's causing mental illness and low self-esteem.

  • I Would Love To Be That Skinny ?

  • Ana is not your friend and ashe gunna trick you

  • thank miss but i dont think you shoul go around making skinny girl feel bad so wat if she is skinny if that what her dream is u dont have no right to say anything. And pluse stop because some people want to be a model now you making them feel bad about it

  • I really really enjoy watching your videos.

    This woman's got brains!

    J.

  • who was that model in the pic?

  • I don't think you should go around wanting overweight people in media, either. Obesity is just as unhealthy as underweight.

  • Its true that it is just as unhealthy, but the question is why is being skinny unhealthy okay, or socially acceptable, but being obese unhealthy so bad?

  • Actually, being 100 pounds underweight is more unhealthy than being 100 pounds over-weight.

  • if i was 100 pounds underweight i would be dead, and weigh 10 pounds...

  • Yes, that's what I said. ^_^

  • im size 16 kids still, and im 15, 4'11 i honestly want to look like those girls! they dont look ill, bad... and i dont look disgusting eiherr..

  • im size 0 and i look good probably she is really tall i dont nu but i dont look sick... and im size 0

  • Poor girl.

  • 90 pounds- size 0

  • I just subscribed and this is only the second of your videos that i've watched, so i'll go watch the rest before i go ahead and stick my foot all up in my mouth, but i just wanted to say, as a 5'10 male who weighs btwn 116-120lbs, how hard life can be in a world where eating disorders only happen to women, and the only ppl who need help and support are "mothers and daughters." If you do ever have that son, PLEASE teach him all the same things as your daughter, and scrap society's assumptions.

  • (now that that's out of the way, I rly enjoy your vids and look forward to watching the rest ^.^)

  • First off, modeling is not always the skin and bones that stereo types like you seem to believe. Most of the successful women in modeling are not of that size. Only 15% of models have eating disorders. Most are either born with a natural skinniness or get rid of excess fat naturally and healthily. It is true that some women in modeling are underweight. Also, some agencies may encourage a very skinny body, but most do not. Most models are about a size 4, 2, or possibly 0 depending on their job.

  • When ALL countries in the world today advertise using models that are 12-18 years old...the message to the world is,"Hey! This is what beauty is! You should be attracted to this!" Then we run shows like "To Catch a Predator" and arrest guys for being attracted to the very same type of girls we are advertising as "Beautiful". Then we wonder...what is wrong with these guys? Our society is being corrupted by our very own media and we allow them to do this to us.

  • im a size 00 and im huge. seriously.

i dont look anything like these girls. i would like to though. thats what scares the shit out of me. never thin enough.

  • Size zero (that's AMERICAN size 0, Europe size 4) has been banned in many countries. The companies are aware of eating disordered individuals seeking jobs, but don't be quick to judge. There's NATURALLY skinny people in the industry losing work too. The "size 0" epidemic stemmed from the American film industry's obsession with casting stick-thin women like Lara Boyle and Sarah Parker. "Diet more" isn't a mantra to all models. Be more worried that your own child thinks "overweight" is healthy.

  • Thanks for that. I'm size 0 and thats my healthy weight, I could eat all day and not gain anything. People ALWAYS judge me, I could have a hamburger in my mouth and they would still stare at me. Right now I'm only 25, so maybe as I get older I will hopefully gain weight. So my point is I hope people don't judge.

About video. In my house growing up, my mother would not allow fashion magazines in the house. At the time I hated it, but now I understand, and will be doing the same for my daughters.

  • Okay, so you're kind of sickening me.

Stop labelling modelling as such a destructive industry. I AM a fifteen year old model, and i am most certainly not a size zero. It is so stereotypical of you to just label us all as skeletons and shells. It is up to the individual's confidence, for example; if i ever get told i am fat or overweight, i just tell the insecure bitch to go sort out her own insecurities, and to stop placing them on me, because i love myself just the way i am. Period.

  • good for you hun

  • if you really think about it size zero is basicly nothing, nada ITS NOT A SIZE!!!!! ITS LIKE GETTING A DRESS AND THERE LIKE WAT SIZE WOULD YOU LIKE AND YOUR LIKE SIZE NOTHING!!!

  • this video is helping people to understand thankyou :) all they need to do is be good in the modeling biusness..x

  • yeah i understand what shes saying too be a model its a competition and its really big idustry all they do is brag and bother about there looks

  • Also, its not just hard for women and girls in america...

  • 1. Why do you do your vids in the car? Thats weird.

    2. Who cares? Seriously, your videos seems so... apathetic.

  • this was a great video! Im so glad you made this point! Im getting into modeling myself, but im completely aware of this. its not to further my career really (altho if i made it big that would be cool) i want to help change the image among models.

  • man watever!!!!!!!

  • No one is naturally a skeleton.

  • aw. lol. im a guy and i watched your video. and i think its true. america is in love with skiny people. but girls, you have to understand, skiny, does not mean, showing your ribs. you want to be normal, if your a size 0 and your trying to maintain that, dont, its not healthy and your body is suffering from it.

    great video.

    it was very intresting =]

  • aw that was sweet

  • Why is she so anti model I am a model and if your daughter or someone wants to be a model let them but, let them know more about the fashion industry.:)

  • I don't believe Mama is anti model. But i agree with her that the fashion industry is exploiting not only young girls who are models or anorexic and unhealthy but that they are setting the parameters of beauty in a way that exploits us all. The size0 models are the inspiration of pro-ana, and our obsession with thin is out of control. the fashion industry is not being responsible as a culture that defines and expresses our identity. its time for change.

  • Dude, why are so anti-model?

    Waste time on something else.

  • God, I wish my mom was like you.

She thinks it's okay to call me fat, I need to excercise, I need to go on a diet. Oh, and she always gives me dirty looks, up and down, particularly if i'm wearing shorts or a tight shirt.

    I'M 5FT 4 AND 105 LBS

and she ALWAYS talks about her weight, dieting, and weighing herself like everyday.

she's ther reason why i think about losing weight all the time, and ther reason why i cry myself to sleep every other night.

she pressures me to model too.

  • My mother is the same way. I have a pot belly because of a GI condition and I have a lot of bone and muscle mass. I wasn't built to be thin. Granted, I love to be active, but was never athletic or a fan of team or competitive sports, or sports in general. There are other ways to be fit!

My sister is naturally thin, and athletic, and treats me the same way.

    Fuck them both.

  • hay i dont want to b a model bu have suffred wit bulimia since i was seventeen diagnosed 1 year ago n goin 2 counsellin im from ireland wld love to b a model bu wld b 2 fat im a size 8 i hate it feel massive bu "healthy" neway jus watched ur blog made me fee strng evan jus 4 a day thanx ali x

  • i agree with you on the fact that models want to be smaller. but there are some people who are just naturally small. i'm 5'7 (2006 was the last time i checked), and i've never weighed over 110 the most i've ever weighed was 105.5 and i have a shpely figure, i'm NOT scrawny or sick looking, and i eat more than most teenage boys. so i would encourage you to remind people that there are two sides... thanks, r

  • ...oh, and i am a size 0 - 3 depending on the brand and threads. and i am extremly healthy.

  • Wow!! this was brilliant.. im 19 years old and i feel old!! omg is the true... i want to be a model.. but really i dont know how.. to start..and you are so right.. size 2? come on?.. thanks for this vid so cool.. and good luck with ur daugher.!

  • I would not ask my daughter any question involving the words "fat" or "overweight". If the topic comes up by itself I would let her ask and give answers of course but in NO way would I give her the impression this is something I am thinking about. If you read serious anorexic's blogs, a single remark at the age of 6 can trigger these things. "Fat" should come up in terms of "unhealthy" and not "looks" in mother-daughter conversations in my opinion.

  • the thing yo said to you daughter is sort of what my grandma said to me when i was so young and it encuraged me to loose every lil pound i could so people would love me, but of course they were always on me to be skinny, just be careful as to how she hears you.

  • The vomiting and feeling worse, not having the energy to push urself off the floor when falling, fainting down the stairs etc. Im glad im out of it but i also do have the occassions where i wish i was a size "0". Because ppl still boast on how u should be freaken 98 pounds or something, sometimes it makes me annoyed. Sorry for all the posts LOL was expressing my views.

  • what is 95 pounds in kg? kilogram? Thanx for the video!

  • sorry i dont know i never use kg for weighting

  • you just divide pounds by 2, so it's ca 47,2 kg. and also: 1 foot = 30,6 cm and 1 inch = 2,5 cm (i think... don't really remember, but it was about 2, something).

  • Im not skinny but average but being pushed to the side because this stick walks by or ur relatives praise a person on how slim they are. It hurts because i went through a extreme eating disorder when 15/16 i remember the stomach pains and couldnt even get up without struggling, fainting etc I was never happy and although im better i still have the thoughts of not being satisfied. I use to cry everynight to myself because i couldnt stare at myself in the mirror

  • I guess the media over stress, that being as skinny as u can, is the way to beauty and acceptance. Its not just modelling its everything. Activity clubs and people, tend to always favor the skinnist and the ones that have a bit of fat are always called lazy or ugly when their healthy.

  • I appreciate you making these videos

  • I commend you on how honest and REAL you are; very insightful. I, myself, have struggled with an eating disorder since I was 17. It's a shame that striving so hard to obtain something that isnt realistic has become an epidemic. I look forward to reading your posts in the future.

  • ok well im a model and there is so not my case u know but ya i keep all this in mined when im at a foto shoot a runway watever u know so thank you for ur words they realy do help!!

  • this was really really good!!well spoken!!

  • Very, very well spoken! Your honesty is intoxicating.

  • Thank you AnselAdam. Sometimes being so honest is a bit scary, but I think the cause is worth the risk.

    Take care!

  • This is a great topic. I can so relate to many of your points.

  • im signed in on my brothers thingy, but i just wanted to say that i am 5'9 and weight 115, im fine, i eat perfectly, healthy, junk sometimes, actually a lot haha, im 18 years old, i have a glowing face, im probably the happiest person u will ever meet

  • Think about this- if you think you are short and fat, would you prefer the alternative- look at those pictures of that model. She is literally a walking skeleton. And I can tell you from experience, she is unhappy and totally lacks self esteem. When I was 5'9, 120 pounds, I was miserable, I looked at my body and saw fat. Good news is, I've now had 2 kids, and I am a healthy weight, I can look at my butt in he mirror and like it! Lumps, bumps and all!! Take care!

  • she's exactly right.

  • i used to want to be a model but not anymore. I'm just way too short and fat. But i totally agree with what you're saying though...it's a really scary world we're living in.

  • How is anyone that dangerously thin attractive? I think its at least half our fault - the guys - that encourage that as attractive...I guess I just don't get it. Thanks for the post - I hope it helps somebody.

  • Thanks for the comment. In a natural way guys do promote this...but isn't it natural? I think guys calling girls "fat" is an issue because they don't realize how that starts girls down a scary path. I hope this helps too. What is interesting is that on both my blog and YouTube, I get a lot of views...buy minimal comments...so I know they are at least reading and listening. This makes me think my thoughts are worth something. Have a good one!
