@9ONE0NE The Japs tactics were developed to fight other Asian countries with older weapons like bolt action rifles so the charge intimidated and frightened and overran them. It did not work as they hoped against a western power with auto and semi-auto weaponry, who just stood their ground and fired until they fought hand to hand if necessary.

@9ONE0NE if the japs had had attacked pearl harbor properly and destroyed the US oil tanks and submarines there the US navy would be totally inactive within half a year or less... there was 10 months of oil supply for the entire navy on pearl harbor buth the japs only attacked the war ships out there... even though the submarines were a far bigger threat than ships they didn't attack submarines, this mistake has turned the entire naval campaign for japan.

@AmersfoortTristan I agree. thousand of fully armed Japs waved white flag after 2 nights of fighting the selected few of 57th Infantry Philippine Scouts who are guarding the U.S. Base Abucay line in Mabatang prior to the fall of Bataan. There is only 50+ of elite well trained marksman and snipers that never missed a target. When they run out of fire arms, they battle it out with bare hands yet they still won over Japs. Unfortunately months later, Bataan still fell due to lack of supplies.

@TheJ13j The big bulky barrel one is an old M1917 Browning, most likely an A1 varient which had a higher rate of fire. The other one is the M1919 Machine gun. Both fires the famed .30-06 round which would have been plentiful in the Philippines as they were still using the Springfield when the Japanese invaded in Dec 1941, literally immediately after Pearl Habour.

@rock123191 The one they show firing first wasn't a M1919 but an earlier version Browning and it was watercooled, the M1919 is air cooled, both are deadly but one can sustain fire longer than the other M1919 heated up faster for as the other one not as much, but yeah, doing a charge into a wall of lead isn't smart.

@christopherlng753 the .223 or 5.56x45mm was not designed to kill on the first shot, it's pretty much a .22 but a smige bigger than it, making it bounce around inside the body like a mad bumble bee trapped inside a glass jar, it can go in through your leg and out through your shoulder, but it doesn't really matter the size of the round really, hit someone in the heart or head, they drop regardless, but i can see where your coming from though ^^
