  • @lukejohnspencer No doubt about both points, my hair was way too long...this video is old as anything...yeah, I was very thin, back then I was a rower at the national level, it keeps you thin but so do my genetics, I have very thin parents.

  • i haven't seen shaytard's video on weight loss - but from what little i've seen they have deplorable eating habits - nutrition is queen and exercise is king...

  • @simplicitykitty I was a big fan as SC a while back, I subbed to the new shaytards channel, but admittedly, I have become disinterested in daily vlogs...this video is old as hell, if you want some actual entertainment and not a jackass (me) just talking about nothing, check out my newer videos. But I do agree, in principle nutrition and exercise are the most important. Genes play a factor but Shay was thin and ran track once. You must be correct :D

    But with that said, I will admit that I am on the smallish side, but I would be much smaller if I didn't work out but if I was larger it at the time of this recording I wouldn't have been able to do what I did, I was a rower at the national level, size slows you down on the water.

    But there is no way you could have known that, not your fault.

  • awesome thanks, I just want to gain a little bit just so I'm at a slightly healthier weight, because I know from the marfans syndrome that I'm always going to be a little underweight, but I'm getting sick and tired of people asking me, if I'm anerexic just because I'm so skinny!

  • let's put it this way, I eat 5 full meals a day and 10 snacks. and yeah I am young (18) and I actually do have a health condition that makes my metabolism faster then it already should be... I'm 5'6" 98 lbs... if you want to know what the health problem is, it's Marfans Syndrome

  • Frequency of eating also effects the weight you can gain as well, 3 massive meals a day with no snacks is what I reccomend for people trying to put on weight. I also reccomend no snacks, but you can be leinient on that one. I will do some research, if you ask me again in a few days, I'll see what I can do to help you put together something with results.

  • That's probably it right there, a lot of working out can burn the calories off and thus prevent the growth of muscle and fat. So, you need to either consume more calories or reduce the amount of time or types of workouts that burn calories.

    Also, if you are fairly young it can be a while before you gain weight, metabolism and all that good stuff.

    Before I get into what I want to ask you, I just wanted to kind of introduce myself. I'm pretty new to youtube and I'm really shy so I usually just watch videos and don't really comment too much. I found you through one of your replies to sxephil and thought you had some interesting things to say which is why I subscribed. I would love your suggestion on a cardio routine for me. I'm a mother of 4 and don't have alot of time and I haven't exercised in hmmm a really long time. Help!!

  • The great thing about cardio is that over 15 minutes of it is enough. A wise thing to do though is to plan your meals after a work out. Your raised metabolism will continue burning the calories, which in turn will help you lose weight.

  • Push-ups are a good general definition workout and the faster the more the fat burn. Sit ups are good too. After a long jog try to do some jump squats. All of these work well when done after a run. Try doing them in sequence for 40 seconds, one after another and then take a 2 minute break and then repeat two more times.
