These people are the guardians of a proud American culture, the handling of serpants is really no more odd then the rituals of other religion that have danger. snakes are used to represent evil & in that likeness of snakes, the evil of "people". We walk daily in the midst of evil "snakelike" folks who'd do us harm, physically, & spiritually. God does tell people to put themselves in harms way. For example, soldiers and police officers stand in harms way to protect mankind. Some are called by God to die for a cause.
