I just saw this documentary on reggae in england and i was surprised that these guys don't get recognized as much because they have revolutionized the music some of the most famous band from england started or were influence by reggae.

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE LOVERS ROCK ARTIST'S FROM BACK IN THE DAY, HIS VOICE IS SO BEAUTIFUL...I COULD LISTEN TO HIM ALL DAY LONG NEVER GET TIRED OR BORED OF HEARING HIM...LOVE HIM ALWAY'S :D
@margaretfrost98 I totally agree!! I live in the states and would not know of UK Lover's rock if wasn't for a friend of mine from the UK who makes Lover's Rock mixes.I take every opportunity to share the music with local reggae artists and listeners here and they love it! UK has some of the best reggae and soul artists! Hopefully one day I will have the pleasure of visiting. :)
What a production! peter sang on my a level recording work and when i say he smashed it he killed it! the song was a remake of ken boothe - silver words. Peter upmost respect goes out 2 u, best wishes.
none of our british singers have received the gobal support that they really deserve..... JA and USA dont recognize them for thier efforts, and none of the big sounds voice dubpltates from them, only the UK based sounds, and if it wasnt for the Mighty Trevor Saxon, the legendary Sir Lloyd Coxson or the infamous Wooligan form Birmingham's Live Wire sound system/studio then many of our british talents wouldnt've got the chance to voice.. and thats the truth......
The reason why none of them have received recognition is plain and simple lack of support. Some where along the way we forgot that all the talent our race holds we are in need of nurturing, spiritual feeding and truth and honesty. We did not need to change anything as we went down the road of illusion and delusion. Spent the last 30 mins listening to these old tunes they are ripe for today. We sadly did not have patience and lacked self belief. Got robbed by get quick rich record labels.
yeah i second that Homemaker48... them tunes are well ripe.... they have the power to tear down the place.... look at what tonor saw and nitty gritty did for uk reggae.... its a travesty to the other uk artists who have worked equaly hard but yet have been squeezed out of the world reggae market.. am glad my comment has inspired you to speak out from the heart..
Thanks for your reply tjdappa. My spiel is that if the hearts of those artists are able to come up with lyrics that put life in context why are we not able to put that talent into postive actions. 70's - 80's was kicking for all who remember then. The artists should of used monies earned to build the community and those in it. I believe that we lost that sense of reality and purpose and some how believed the hype of who we were and where we came from. Look up Timbuctou and here what I mean.
Tune..........Had the pleasure of working with Peter in May 08 of this year a true Gentleman and flawless vocals on the night..Big up a true Lover rock singer....
