  • And the translations don't do the spoken words justice

  • LOTR?

  • What's so cool about hte winged hussars is that no matter how many you shot or kill, you can't stop their mighty charge! This movie is really cool, just like the PC game " Warband : Fire and Sword"! Winged Hussars will always be the best cavaly in history!

  • Cossacks fucking suck ass. Polish cavalry just sweeps over them like bitches. The Ukrainians never had the balls to step up until a polish guy told them too, pitiful. But, cossacks are just scary cuz of them mothafucking mustaches haha

  • @MrThepolak141 They don't suck ass. They just lack the über equipment that the hussars posses ;)

  • This movie obvious deserves an Oscar for the best mustaches

  • cossacks #1 army ever (in my opinion )

  • Polish power supreme!!!

  • St. Micheal!

  • ıhahaha türkçe konuşuyo tatarlar :D hihihi

  • If I could just find this music! It's so nice!

  • is this Dog Turkish or do the Tatars really speak like this? I am a native Turkish speaker and what those so called Tatars speak, their accentuation and marks of stress, and their "digressions of speech's main plot" basically, really sound funny. As if a new Turkish learner trying to read out his script semi-professionally from a piece of paper. Who were the script editors and voice actors of this movie? I just wanna punch them terribly for voicing/writing for Tatar speaking actors.

  • "allah's will" ... a nice way to avoid the fact that they sucked :P

  • Poland is good country

  • wtf making Turanids as gays. this filim is truely fake........Did Russians make this > ?

  • @Pyxis0 After uprising Ukraina was not polish teritory i there was union of three country Polish, Lithuania and Ukraina (Commonwealth of Three Nation) Res Publica was union of two country Polish Kingdom and Lithuania. Ukraina was conquest

  • @Pyxis0

I did not mean that these things happenned at the same time. I wanted to point out that Cossacs managed to gain their freedom from the vast Lithuanian-Polish Commonwealth. On the other hand Poland was quite arrogant and paid it by getting wiped from European map. It is a very typical thing in history. Asxension, Arrogance, Failure ;)

  • KingPterl, Poland was longer under German rule that Ukraine under polish rule. Cossacs made revolution. Polish did none.

  • @p0nd1ak

WTF?! as for Germany Prussia, country that united Germany was longer under polish rule , than Poland under German rule, and Poles made many uprisings

  • @p0nd1ak What revolution cossacs made?

  • Bez komentarza

  • forward with glory xd

  • How come...entire Europe was so scary from Turkish advances and in every their movies Europeans are victorious hahaha.

  • @timur1lenk

Just some parts of it,the french even allied with the turks.

  • Well...we don't want to see movies about losses xd It's better to se u beaten...well...from our point of view :] anyway, u've lost against us many wars

  • @Vessemir eee i like TRUE HISTORICALY films no fairytales

  • em...films are supposed to entertain, that's their main goal, if u want to see historical films, go watch discovery or something.

anyway...sn what way is "with the fire and sword" historicaly "wrong" ?

  • @Vessemir it basics on a book (SIeniekwicz's trilogy) and his book is not in 100% corrent with history

  • I know but it's not a fantasy as well :]

  • @Vessemir I guess now it time for you to be beaten. Nothing last for ever. These days you Russians dieing from fire and tomorrow who knows what will be reason for your extermination.

  • Em, i'm not russian....

  • Polish WInged Hussar's charge is something really unique and amazing ... : )

  • ukrainians- first suck mongolian dick for 100 years, then polish dick for 400 years then russian for 200 years and now they are fighting in election whose dick they should suck

  • @proudtobeukrainian

Omg. You are so fucking idiot!!! Ukraine never win any war ! "Ukraine" never exist before!! WTF IS THAT UKRAINE? Piece of polish and russian land!

  • Kyiev Rus won many wars. Kiev was the biggest City in Europe in IX - XII after Konstatinopol. If there was no Kiev, mongols will stop on Hamburg or even far away from there.

Cossacks would won War if Chan woudn't betray them. It's a fact.

  • Kyiev Rus is not Ukraine. Do not assign the history of Kievan Russia to the Ukrainian history. It's quite another thing!!!!!!!!!!

  • are you idiot? kievan russ - it's ukraine . kiev - our homeland. Our rule Svyatoslav kicked facking jude ass in khazarian kaganate , we kick facking pechengs ass.

Not say bull shit here . Cossaks take and exterminate many turkish fortres

Ehh :/

  • It is big history tragedy that we polish and ukrainian didn't get well in each other

  • but wee have a cavalary whyt the longes copys(pikes) longes thean pikcmen POLISCH cavalary have captured the Moscow on bothy do thinks like polisch cavalary learn history stuped

for exampel 3000 vs 120000 battel of The Battle of Kircholm (September 27, 1605

we kill about 8000 and loss 100 and what u think now Polisch army in histroy losse war onle whean enemys was more tha 2 bythys

  • Balls? Buahaha you got balls? I don't think so. Ukraine never win any war so stfu. You are always fucked by us or by russians. So shut up and don't write shit beacuse you have now your poor "Ukraine".

  • Fucking idiot who think that his nation are special heheheh. Always beated by neighbors. I don't think so that some should be proud to be "Ukrainan". This is not nation. It's mix between polish, russian and mongols. This "nation" don't have even own culture.

  • what happens when you mix Polish Russian and Mongol you get Ukrainan

  • @tuskin4 lol

  • i think (i'm a Pole) that we have to restore an Union with our Ukrainian brothers, no more hate, wars and blood, together we can do more than apart! we should bury all those bad things from the past and start real cooperation, there is quite lots of nations in our region to make better union than we have now, which isnt really our union.

    Peace Brothers.

Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria, we should stay together and help each other !

    PEACE !!!

  • lol what's this from? to slaughter!!!

  • The polish hussars and the Hungarian horse archers were the only european cavalery forces the ottomans respected!

    Go Hussars :)

  • Yes we do. Goodbye

  • Kresy Wschodnie nasza ziemia.

  • No i za złotówki można kupować.

  • i think that ukranian and poles have alot in common and are similar people , although we had an incredibly bloody and hatefull history but i think its time leave behind the past and look in it a good future

    ukr/pol 2012 euro !!! :)

  • @iBox87 yes but in past stupidity of polish aristocracy and now polish politics dont let us to be strong & together ... fuck

  • @iBox87 european unnion isint about europe its about the jews in commande of it like why is there 12 stars on the flag hey 12 like the 12 jewish generation right!

  • @iBox87

Cut out that Eurofag nonsense. Us and Poland will never be brothers. I don't give a shit what you new age people say.

  • Zagłoba the best strateg on the world!! :D

  • What I wanted to say is that, years ago, because of few stupid assholes on both sides, we didn't merge into one Commonwealth of three nations-Polish, Lithuanian and Ukrainian. How beautiful it would be-land of three nations which allied in fight for freedom. I believe that we could call Ukrainians brothers, as we called Lithuanians. But when I read comments on this vid, I see that again- most people only want to fight with each other.

  • there were something about 50.000 Cossacks- truely fabulous warriors, brave to the point of disregard of their own lives. Yet eaven their numbers and bravery wasn't enough to win with winged Hussars and the rest of the commonwealth army, neither would be enough to win with Russia. You must remember that some polish nobility from western Poland and Lithuania wanted cossacks to become polish nobles, thesame way Cossacks believed that Polish-Lithuanian king is their Father, and Commonwealth- mother

  • TO ALL WHO WANT TO LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT POLAND AND UKRAINE.

Please, don't pay any attention to sick people, who only want to fight with everyone around on youtube. Some people like " gaastra12 " or "angekirichenko" are just stupid no-life's who seek pissing-off people on the internet. Ukrainians(Rus people-not to be mistaken with Russians), are slightly older nation than Polish are(and much older than Russians). It's also not true that they won with everyone around-at the peak of their power..

  • Did you even see the movie?

  • In your dream. Have you even seen about Batlle of Bersteczko?

  • buahaha nice provocation,

  • theres nothin to suck stupid

  • your stupid fat fcuk lol your just fat and enjoy dick down your throat and choke on it fat boy.

  • haha, stupid idiot, ukraine are just tartars, when poland first was founded, there was no ukraine at all. lmao. ukraine sucks so hard, fucking poor piece of crap FAKE country FAKE identity FAKE nationalism

  • HAHAHAHAHAH this comment is obviously written by a true ukrainian

  • HaHa! Zagloba RULES! :)))

  • Ukrainians are brave people, fought against most Powerfull nation at that time

  • historicly true or fals .... - it´s an lovely film ....:-) - the terminator ain´t true either ....:-)

  • How come Tatars are speaking turkish

  • 06:03

    Polish Sniper!!!

  • Do you want to say something more?! I think no :-|

  • did i offend u my dear polish man? hmm?

  • Poland and lithuania are so great, all european countries that were brothers,im sick of people always talking about western europe like france,Poland,Hungary,Austria, germany, lithuania, and all other small european countries that the americans fdont note are better.

  • Skrzetuski vs Tuhaj-bej - fantastic

  • At 8:00...

Is that supposed to be a German Landscknecht?

  • No, that is Longinus Podbipięta ,a Lithuanian noble

  • Okay thanks.

The dress and the sword seemed that of a German mercenary.

  • teutonic sword

  • IT IS LITHUANIAN nobelmen who in a book is some kind of Hercules, very strong so he carries a teuthonic sword from 1410 when his ancestor Stoweyko cut three heads of german knights in a row, that's why he became a nobelman... Longinus promissed God the same(* to cut three muslim heads in a row), did it and died soon after trying to sneak out of Zbaraz to tell the king how bad the situation is.

Killeb by Tatars, they had to use bows to do that.

  • Okay, thank you for the info.

I have not seen this series yet until just yesterday. I know the history behind it, but I do find the film very good.

It was quite a pointless fight.

  • I`ll only add that there really existed Longinus Podbipięta and a family with the coat of arms "Zerwikaptur" (hood snatcher), on which are three goat heads.

Actually most of the characters in the books of Sienkiewicz existed and all the storyies are connected to the real history.

  • Very interesting. Thank you.

  • Still is only fantasy you know, book is cool, it says in generall that the Cossack-Polish war was stupid fight among brothers

  • must really suck not having guns...

  • great post men xD "szablą rozjebie łeb"

  • this movie has nothing to do with a novel.hoffman has "sacrificed" it in the name of polish-ukrainian relationship.another politicly correct bastard.

  • What? It seemed exactly like the book, except that a few battles were cut out to save time. Plus, the Ukrainians acted like drunken idiots 2-3 times while the Poles only did one ass joke.

  • you have no fuckin idea what you're talking about."few battles were cut out to save the time"?what the fuck?you'd better read the book.

  • Please tell me where the book portrays the Ukrainians in an unpleasent fashion that is not in the film.

  • you missed my point.

  • Then please be straightforeward and tell me exactly what's wrong.

  • ,,Panie Michale! Kochany panie Michale!

-Gdzie jesteś waść?, -Ratuj mnie, kochany panie Michale!"

Ogniem i mieczem is the best polish movie EVER!

  • no, the "Potop" is in English "The Deluge"

"Ogniem i Mieczem" nie dorasta do piet

  • Poland

  • Who won the war in the end?

  • Poland

  • I'm not sure

  • It was home war. Nobody won. But true is, that Poland share Ukraine with Russia. Russian toke Kiev for 2 years. Never returned:)

  • Ukraine has Kyiv back now! :o)

  • ukraine and poland are brothers , that is that what is very good.

i wish i woud be in poland. people nice and very frendly

    and vodka^^

    5 p

  • Very good quality vodka. Some of the best in the world.

  • How can Poland share ukraine with Russia when ukraine were Polish lands and there was nothing like UKRAINE AS A COUNTRY. It was a region belonging to Poland.

  • Doesnt every sovereign nation begin as a region, territory or piece of another land? If the Ukrainians decided that they were a people unto themselves in a land that was their own, then it was so. Poland has a right to deny that claim, but Ukrainians can still believe as they wish. It is war that decides such disputes, temporarily, but when a people feel in their hearts they are not of a parent nation then they are not, war never changes that. Ukraine became free when they believed in it.

  • No they didn't decide that they want freedom and free country - they wanted only full 3 nations union Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainians - in the place of 2 nations union like before Polish-Lithuanian. They fought for this - to change this union no to make free, independent country. But Polish and Lithuanians treat Ukrainians like mans without any laws - servants.

  • @KingPeterI In XVII century Ukraine was region belonging to Rzeczpospolita. Poland in that time also was REGION of Rzeczpospolita.

And it wasn't war Poland against Ukraine or something.

  • @Prakokon

    +1

  • @Prakokon So it is very strange region, because King of Rzeczpospolita, was King of Poland.

  • @kaczypawlak The first time there was used name "Rzeczpospolita" (Res Publica in Latin) was about XIVc, during the reign of Casimir the Great. Republic is not a name for a country, but a regime. Poland was Kingdom, Lithuania a Grand Duchy and also Samogitia, Prussia and Courland were duchyies.

  • @KingPeterI

    This is so wrong!!!!

  • @KingPeterI The American 13 colonies were once just a region of Great Britain until the war for independence established the United States of America. Khmelnytsky's wars established Cossack Ukraine as an independent nation free of the Rzeczpospolita, the arrogant szlachta monopoly and the Jesuit Roman Catholic Church. Every newly born country has a beginning at some point in time. Ukraine is an independent state that does not need to be shared between Poland or Russia.

  • @MiddletownDreamz After Chmielnicki rising, Ukraine was between Poland and Russia. When Ukraine was freedom?

  • @ Cossack Ukraine or the Hetmanate was partitioned between Muscovy and the Rzeczpospolita along the Dnipro. Zaporizhia continued to maintain its independent existence. It was the ruin following Khmelnytsky's death that precipitated the division which by the way was not approved by the Cossack administration. An analogy to modern Poland would be the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact of 1939

  • @MiddletownDreamz chmielnicki traited Commowealth(cossacs were part of Commonwealth and fought on both sides on this inside war as well as later when chmielnicki asked about help Commonwealth enemies) and after failed of his rebel,he asked moscov about protection, then hurted Commonwealth prefered to allow on this consensus to keep breath...he wanted it so about what kind of analogy you're talking?:)

  • @MiddletownDreamz Not a good analogy.. USA was a colony, where people moved to be free from all the crap in Europe.. anyway, Ukarine is it's own country now - all present day borders are diffrenet from the past. We should embrace our Slavic botherhood and not fight about the past.

  • @KingPeterI hahahaha Ukraine was Kievan Rus which was first conquered by the grand duchy of Lithuania later by mongols and then by Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth (:

  • I will preface my question with a factual statement: I am neither Ukranian nor Polish. Curious question: Did anyone ask the people whom the region belonged to? Did the people say they were Poles or Ukrainians? Just curious. Not that it mattered in those times, when the stronger took what he wanted. Just curious.

  • @Sssmoken

Actually, there were no literally Poland at this time. There was federal state called "Rzeczpospolita" (Republic, or, literally, Commonwealth), composed of Crown of Poland and Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Nobility, only class with full citizen and political rights who governed country (king's position was similiar to those in UK), called themselves "Poles", or identified themselves with region they were living in- Lithuania, Podolia etc. (...)

  • Tonwspeople identified themselves with their cities, Jews were paying tax and didn't really care, and serfs were too busy to think about things like identity. Sometimes they were taking their lord's surnames, i.e. "Radziwiłłowski"= "Radziwiłł's Own", so they could feel connection with them. As for Ukraine, here matters become more complicated- there were no Ukrainian people at this time. "Ukraina" mens something like "borderland"- borderland, of course, of Poland...

  • @HasharinPL I heard that name "Ukraine" came from word "borderland” of Russia, but not from Pol yet.

If you interested to learn history of Ukraine I recommend a documentary by JERZY HOFFMAN, "UKRAINE-THE BIRTH OF THE NATION." Youtube (2008) Materials in this film - he collected personally.

There Jerzy Hoffman says that Cossacks fought for autonomy of Ukraine. He also says that because Poland failed to find an agreement with Ukrainians during its history it was divided 4 times and got communism

  • @HasharinPL

I also read a comment written by Pol. He wrote that if Polish nobility gave the same rights and freedom to Ukrainians they gave Lithuania in 17 century, the fate of our 3 nations would be different now.

I couldn't agree more. How said that some Pols still didn't learn the lesson, what happens if they deny existence of Ukraine.

  • @Sssmoken

So, Khmelnytsky's uprising, portrayed in this movie, wasn't national uprising. It was uprising of Ruthenian peasants and Cossacks (who of course weren't a nation, but a multi-cultural semi-military community but with predominance of Ruthenians) against feudal oppression. Although religious (Cossacks and Ukrainian serfs were Orthodox, when Poles mostly Catholic) and cultural differences were very important in that war (so important that Russia decided to intervene)...

  • @Sssmoken

... as well as the legend of Zaporozhian Cossacks played key role in forming of Ukrainian national identity during 19th century.

  • The Poles defeated Hmelinski's army, but in the sequel, he comes back and becomes a real thorn once again.

  • where can i get this movie?

  • amazon

  • HUSARIA

  • where l can find music at 2:11?

  • well I don't hear any music at 2:11 but if you mean this one at 8:11 it's "Husaria ginie" composed by Krzesimir Dębski. You can find it at soundtrack of "Ogniem i mieczem" movie or "With Fire and Sword" in english.

  • whrong traduction : inshallah is not praised to allah but as allah will. alhamdolilah is praised to allah ;)

  • Chmielnicki's uprising was not just an internal conflict not only because of Russian intervention - also because of Crimean Khanate which became Chmielnicki's ally.

  • And Chmielnicki uprising which started in 1648 - despite being the most famous one - was not the last one.

The last Cossack uprising took place between 1702 - 1704.

    Reason?

Final liquidation of the Registery Cossack forces - so the reason was again the same as for previous uprisings.

  • "The last Cossack uprising took place between 1702 - 1704."

During the Great Northern War? Are u reffering to Mazepa?
