  • If you were to try to take this on an airline today, the cost would be outrageous, because of the incredible weight and oversize dimensions, especially with the recent price increases. This sory of case is just for display and it makes a nice one at that.

  • any trouble getting these on airlines?"?????

  • great work with the hard wear. Was the leather to worn out to restore?

  • im a buyer i want one

  • que reliquia!

  • fabulOus wOrk (:

  • How do I contact you about 2 Vuitton trunks that I have for sale?

  • how much u want?

  • are they the ones with that stand on their side and have little compartents inside i'v been looking for one for five years please mesage me about how much you're loking for

  • You're thinking of a steamer trunk. They are experiencing a bit of renaissance currently and should be fairly easy to find.

  • how can you contact ME!! i want them!

  • how much?

  • What was Jesse eating?

  • i would wipe it down with a damp rag but never polish it or do that much... thats the beauty ... the grime and grunge of its travels

  • dats awsum!!!

  • omg, why would you clean it! im sure it lost value!!!!!!

  • It depends on the trunk. If it's trashed originally then it needs a clean-up. If you go to the boutiques, and look at the trunks there- they've all had light make-overs. A nice patina is good, but no one wants dirt or grunge. If there's major buildup- or rust, we get rid of that. Plenty of trunks that we sell, we don't touch at all.

  • i would be already half dead carrying this stupid thing

  • In Lenox Square Mall in Buckhead there is one from the 1920s on display. I got one of the people at the store to open it so I could look at it and feel the inside it was really deep and tall a real trunk. According to him Louis Vuitton is trying to purchase these pieces for their museum and they aren't selling them to the public.

  • I agree im not ready to pay 10.000 dollars for it :S

  • thats all?

  • i lvoe the way they make it

but the price is way tooooooooooooooooo high

  • isint this illegal in some parts of the world? haha. its fascinating really.

  • why is it illegal??

  • great restoration

  • And also, if you buy bags like LV you're clearly a "lbael whore" as you put it. The Monogram canvas has been a statement of Louis Vuitton's heritage and their commitment to quality for the past 152 years. It's the counterfeiters who have tried to tarnish their image. Unsucessfully I might add.

  • Idsownz, you clearly don't have Louis Vuitton trunks. I have had 4 for almost 30 years and they have been on well over 100 flights. They have been battered and scuffed and no doubt thrown around yet they still are in beuatiful condition. Don't claim to "know" that Hermes and Goyard are better. Louis Vuitton have been the top in their class ever since they started the Art of Travel. No one is considerably better, you're just making that up.

  • did you ever hear that they found Louis Vuitton trunks in the titanic

  • newsflash!! the bitch sank with it's cargo. I highly doubt anything is still intact. Do your homework.

  • i hope you had someone to carry it with, that big sucker is heavy--and watch out for your feet.

  • Also should say LV is not the absolute best in quality by any means. Hermes and Goyard are both considerably better, and more expensive to boot.

  • The fakes are what caused LVMH to raise the price LV goods by aprox 10%.

Btw I buy brands like LV, because of the great detail and quality that LV puts in all of their bags. I could give a shit less who knows what it is. I also despise their monogram. Having their monogram all over your item is like saying "look at me, I'm a label whore'. Why ANYONE would want a FAKE monogrammed bag is way beyond me.

  • if you knew the history of the monogram and what its about, it would be different.

  • i love louis vuitton!!!!!!!

  • Coffin for the rich !!!!!!!!

  • I wonder why they didn't just giv'em a new one. surely the wood quality would be alittle better when it's not almost a hundred years old.

  • yeah, it's great looking. But I still don't see why the crap cost so damn much. it's just a bag, I don't care what you say...

  • Before the celebrity hype and advertising campaigns, it was probably all about the quality.

But why would a person that spent so much on luggage not maybe take it back to Louis Vuitton to be restored (since one would have to find the person that he or she gave it to trustworthy to be with it)? Or maybe they only make them? :/

  • Its the american to dream to be envied, to feel superior to the person standing next to you and LOUIS VUITTON gives the client exactly what they want.

  • Yes, and it seems even Louis Vuitton's parent company LVMH knows that as there are lots of fakes. One bust caught fakes bags that would have been worth at least a billion dollars had the merchandise been authentic.

  • There are other luggage companies that are as old and are craftsmen like Louis Vuitton without the hype, and probably don't get counterfeited as much. It's not the Jessica Simponsons that are buying Louis Vuitton for their quality (rather than being part of the "in" crowd), but the ones servers have said request custom-made luggage accessories from them.

  • so fuken true. so as japanese ppol. dats y only europeans & others shoud own 1. chinese make fakes but bcoz 4 money, not for showin off. u ask a UK man bout d LV his wearin, he gets all hyped lyk he won a lottery. u ask a frenchman, "who cares" look he gives ya

  • thats what america thinks of louis vuitton... the people who respect the name and label and who are long time collectors dont think of it that way... usually narrow minded americans are the ones that go buy a speedy bag to make them feel like their "special". The brand is about travel life and discovering yourself through lifes journeys with Louis Vuitton by your side. Do some research on it

  • But remember that Fashionphile needs to SELL the trunk after so whatever condition it can get better value in would be more favourable for them. As a collector you would leave it as is but still give it a wipe (unless it's trashed of course).

I do agree that Louis Vuitton is about the journey of life (or at least was until it became omnipresent).

  • The materials. THE CRAFTMANSHIP. The people who make it. It all becomes added cost. plus the profits of the company. IF it werent due to its price tag then that means more people would have it. AND THATS NOT THE POINT. Its purpose is much more than that of travel but of exclusivity. (BRAND NEW AROUND 15 grand.) But how about a $300,000 Rolls. Is a car made only to just take you from a-b?

  • Louis Vuitton is more about hype now. There are probably more fakes then authentic merchandise running around now because women bought fakes in their attempt to be part of the rich crowd.

  • lol yes, youre exactly right. Did you know that about 1% of all the louis vuitton that you see on the street is real?

Ive read that statistic on several fashion magazines, like Harper's Baazar, Vogue, etc.

  • this is product of louis vuitton is original?????

  • Yes! Louis Vuitton has been making trunks for literally over a hundred years. The trunk in the video was made right after the turn of the century! We sell mostly authentic newer small accessories as consigners, but trunks are a really fun part of our business. If you are in the Beverly Hills area, feel free to come by the store in my blog and take a look! Sarah

  • i love you guys! your listings on ebay are truly great!

  • Nice! I'd love to do some train & ship travel with that trunk. Is $125 enough?

  • It is amazing what a Dremel and some simple tools can do in the hands of a true master. By the way what is the name of the song playing in the video?

  • Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams - Situations
