  • soooooo cute :D

  • Hope you gave it a good meal after the molt. That is usually when they are ready to chow down.

  • OMG she looks like mine. She just started molting and I wanted to see how it looked like if i missed it :)

  • You know Tarantulas aren't spiders, right? They're megalomorphs. They're actually closer to crabs.

  • She molted very nicely!

  • is it in pain during this process?

  • guys if i buy a spider and it starts to moult, how do i know ?????? and if it doesnt move shall i leave it alone because ill be worried and wont know what to do with it :*(

  • that's incredible,

spiders are still scary as hell though

  • that's just. creepy. lol

  • What if you disrupt there molting process?

  • my grammostola rosea molt right now

    :D nice video

  • for a rose hair to successfuly molt what humidity do you need it to be?

  • Guess can somebody tell me what to do when spider molting I think iam bad at this he. He big scar on his bottom and he didnt make web.

  • the music lol

  • THAT IS FREAKING DISGUSTING. I DONT LIKE SPIDERS EEEEEEEW THEY GIVE ME THE HEEBE GEEBEES.

  • I wonder if it's painful.

  • Awesome!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • What program did you use to edit?

  • my goodness, 8 hours? I never knew they took that long to molt!

  • sheet sheet i woikje up 2 hours ago and she is still on her back doing nothing no movemnt legs still straight not curled i saw he twitch once im worried she is to big to split/get out she still just upside down she could been like that all night

  • how long do they stay on back still before they actually start doing something i think i royaly screwed her

  • @DigiBullet23

wait a bit, tarantulas will have a long period of "rest" after they shed, it's natural.

  • I don't understand that how it comes outta those freaking holes in it's old body, its just soo weird

  • I wonder how that's even possible. It's like a spider inside a spider. The skin gives me the heebie jeebies...

  • You should have really taken the cricket out of the tank, you are very fortunate your Rosea didn't get killed by the cricket. When a Tarantula is moulting it don't focus on anything else apart form it's moult, the cricket loves things that are tender and has allot of liquid. The tarantulas eyes are perfect, for a snack, the cricket would happily eat the tarantulas eyes. Crickets are not dumb.

  • Those thumbs down must have changed to four thumbs up :).

Yes I discovered the crickets devious plans when my Goliath bird eater had it's eyes eaten! I raised her from a little cheep spider ling that you buy for £3.

I got her to full size, but after her last moult I popped a cricket in her tank because i thought she needed food to regain her strength. Logical idea?

    Everyone learns from their mistakes.

  • so did she die after the cricket ate her eyes? or did she live on?

  • She lived, for a short while. But I could not get no where near her, because she was really aggressive. Maybe because of her wounds, they have to keep their guard up obviously because of predators. So she would not let me try and sooth the pain for her. So she eventually died.

  • lol crickets own

  • lol, yeah they do xD

  • yeah that was stupid. but somebody maybe should have told you that they molt.

  • well i knew they molted, i just didnt know how, he was in the early stages where was very still, he didnt start to pull out yet

  • are you sure, that your scorpion was living at the moment, maybe it was dead already, like you thought before. infect or something like it.

  • i dont know, i looked at a video of a scorpian molting and he was in the same position as the scorpian molting

  • Oh good, I was quite worried my dear little tarantula was dead!

I guess I'll just have to keep checking over the next few hours to make sure he is actually molting.

Does anyone know how long you should wait after a molt to handle a spider again?

  • who has ever eaten a spider? in cambodia THEY EAT SPIDERS

  • i hear it tastes like chicken lol

  • haha

  • great video. the only thing i didnt like is that theres a cricket in there.

  • I know. What if the cricket interrupted or injured the poor tarantula while he's molting. That would be awful. Lol.

Amasing video mate. This was a very interesting thing to watch, as I've never seen a spider molting his old skin. Very educational.

  • somehow this song sounds appropriate

  • What a cutie!

  • It takes me about that long to get changed too :P

  • Very cool! My rosea just molted last night and I stayed up from 7AM to 12PM waiting, lol. I finally passed out from not sleeping all night, but set my video to record. It recorded 2 hours, and THEN she molted before I woke up at 5. I was so frustrated, lol. My first molt and I missed it!

I imagine it looked something like yours though :]

  • cool and disgusting

  • i cant believe i watched this....its like watching frogs fuck.....

  • haha now you can throw the molt at people and freak them out

  • I do sometimes! lol

  • @spiderbaby65 ...What... the... fuck.

  • Wow, well filmed....how long does it take to molt and what does the spider do with molt afterworth?

It's beautiful too watch the proccess, it's amazing....

  • This one about 8hrs. the spider just leaves the molt

  • @spiderbaby65 I actually hate spiders...please don't take this as an offense :/ but I just wanted to say I find this "molting" process so amazing :o and I was just wondering...do spiders/tarantulas/wtv feel any pain during this process?

  • Ah kill it with fire.

  • Are you kidding? Molting would be AWESOME! Voicemail to my manager: "Hey man, I gotta shed this...seriously, I think I can keep it all in one piece this time. If you want I'll call you and you can come over and see it when I'm done. See ya."

  • oh yeah that would get you a girlfriend really quick yeah;)

  • can you imagine if the human body required us to do that!!

we lay in bed tantrically for hours, wiggling and rolling around to classical music, out of our old skin.

    how sick

  • yea, i'd prolly want to do it to daft punk or whatever

  • It kills time

  • im sure we would find a easier way to do it lol

  • @biglarry345

    Yes, zippers.

  • @ihosvany actually, we do! we just do it in little microscopic bits, as opposes to all at once

  • @ihosvany and then evolve to be more than human once a year...sounds amazing and evolutionary to me

  • FAscinating. My spider is about to molt again, hope I get to see it this time.

  • I don't see any reason why people would be afraid of tarantulas, they seem like the teddy bears of spiders to me

  • im just terrified of spiders but i mean i have a snake thats a pythonn (only like 2 feet) and i wrap it around my neck and i know im safe i mean i can touch it's head and it won't bite. my friends had a pet tarantula pretty small but im scared of it

  • If you wanna get over a fear of spiders, work with tarantulas, they don't run fast and they are fuzzy

  • i hate bugs in general and fuzzy bugs are even scarier D:

it's one of those things that i don't think i will ever overcome

  • I hate cockroaches, if one is within 3 feet of me I freak out

  • oooooh shit!!!! MY teacher name's Molt xD Oh my Got xD

  • At what age does a tarantula like Rosea molt at? Plus how do you know when they are going to molt?

  • Sweet now you have two spiders :P haha

  • Sounds so interesting.. And weird and soo many emotions..

  • i just accidentally witness a brown recluse spider molting this afternoon. my 1st time to see a spider molting live in person. it was amazing.

  • then you should have killed it a recluse dont get bit by one of those so kill them

  • yes but this breed is very docile.

  • I had the same species once, it only flicked hairs at me once because I kept poking it to get into a container...otherwise, I'd take it out and he'd crawl over my Boba Fett action figure lol

  • i would surely shit my pants off if one of these came in to my house

  • ahh i hate spiders but this video look so interesting :P

  • my sisters tarantula just molted yesterday... we stayed up all night watching it I just had to see anotherone molt!!

  • As an arachnophobic this video was really cool to watch! Seeing stuff like this helps me through this, and the music isn't so bad either (btw; who is this song by?). Thanks for posting.

  • Wow, awesome footage. My Tarantula is molting now. Somethings wrong..Charlotte is spilling fluid out her knees, it's been 9 hours, shes tiring, how can I help her. We've been so lucky all these years shes 19 yo am afraid shes dying. How can I help her?

  • This does not sound good, and if she's that old....hope all goes well.

  • Awesome...I just watched mine molt....pretty nasty but very awesome...I fell asleep when she kicked off ther exoskeleten ... im glad though i prob would have been sick....lol...rock on

  • at 4:01 the old ''spider'' looks like it signs in a hilariously funny way!!!hahahaha look at it, pause at 4:01!!!

  • ... what?

  • nothing, ignore it, it's just, l-o-l my english isn't the best, i'm not from america or england, lol i just meant that if you pause the video at 4:01 the tarantula looks like it does ummm like it signs to u if you look right it's like there are eyes and they are SOOO funny and like there's a tongue too, and like the spider does a hillarious sign to the camera! l-o-l, whatever... =P

  • haha... Ok, I wasn't sure if I was reading that correctly. [though, I still don't see it: x]

  • pause the vid at 4:01 and pay attention to the !molt!, it looks like it has its tongue out and it yells at you, and its eyes are like confused! xD it's hilarious!!!

  • thats pretty impressive D:

  • fuck u! wat do u know bout spider?

  • I have to say I was impressed... and I have Arachnophobia, I never knew a spider could molt. or Tarantula for this occasion ^^

  • u have a very beautiful spider

  • she is very pretty after the molt i want to get a tarantula do they make good pets?

  • I find if you have a ground spider they are easy, tree spiders are harder. The ones from the desert are easiest because you don't don't have to worry so much about the humidity. Other than that very easy. They are not messy they don't make noise. Keeping the crickets to feed them is the hardest part.

  • wow great video :). That looks awesome. *****

I also have spiders and other animals. If you are interessted so please check out my channel :)

please approve my video response. I know it has nothing to do with spiders, but also with moulting :)

    greetings sebi

  • thanks it looks pretty cool how big does it get

  • I think this breed only gets a little bit bigger than this, so about 5 to 6 inch diameter.

  • what kind of tarantula is that

  • Its a Rose Hair. They are from Chili.

  • wow, i hate spiders but thats pretty interesting, ive never seen that before. Mozart, nice music choice, it fits well :D

  • looks kinda lazy :S

  • I do pet it with my hands, it lives in a cage so no one steps on it. After a tarantula molts it is very fragile, that is why you don't see me touching it. Do your research before making a comment.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I hate tarantulas with a passion but I am very glad to see that she molted without losing a leg :)

  • did anyone notice the fact that there was a cicket sitting under the web??

  • yes, I saw the cricket, and so have many others, I know its bad but there was no way to get it out.

  • me i'd be like " OMG!!!! GET ME OUT OF HERE!! ( high pitch scream ) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It lives! >=D

  • saves having a bath lolz

humm i am dirty takes of skin rofl

  • OH MY GOD I WILL BE MAD AFTER THIS VIDEO!

  • cool stuff indeed

  • wow she's a beauty. i love how she looks when she's done. i would hop up and get one because i hear they are gentel and nice, but if mine escaped then they would be dead. i wanted to know what she was doing at the end, was she cleaning herself? and btw...do you have the poisen taken out, lol sorry but does she bite at all and when she does...does it hurt? i don't mean to be nosey but i really want one and i can't so i'm asking the only person who has one...

  • At the end, I think she's just kind of stretching and relaxing after her molt. No you can not take the poison out, it would kill the tarantula because you would have to break the exo-skeleton or pull out the fangs which they need to eat. I have never been bitten and this breed (Chilean Rose Hair) is very docile. I have had other breeds and they were much more aggressive. I have heard a tarantula bite is like a really bad be sting. If you have any more questions feel free to msg me.

  • This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen...

  • I always do that ;)

  • It would have been almost the same, there were a lot of parts where she was not moving or just wiggling her legs, not much more than what you see here.

  • Yes all spiders molt just like snakes loose there skin and birds molt their feathers.

  • Great vid. I have a phoneutria nigriventer he has molted 4 times and she is an adult so she doesn't molt anymore. also is that a cricket on 03:07?

  • Yes, I know its bad, but there was no way I could get it out without disturbing Rosea.

  • That's a fascinating video. Thanks for sharing. Rosea is very pretty. Although I'm scared to death of spiders, it was very interesting to see.

  • Spiders are arthopods; they molt to grow.

  • very nice vid. after all she looks beautiful:) my N. chromatus female is gonna molt soon, i can`t wait to see her:)))

  • wounder if it hurts

  • Great vid! My tarantula is going through his/her first molt (well, since we've had it) as we speak. I hope (s)he's ok. I know that yours took 8 hours, is that normal? Or do they take longer/less time?

    Great vid! PSG xxx

  • My first tarantula only took 20min the time I caught it molting. The rest of the time they have always been hiding so I'm not sure.

  • I got over my fear by getting a female chilean rose hair.

Who possibly getting ready to mold as she's place a silk bed thicker than the silk she does on pray and now has a tiny dark spot like a triangle shape and a bald spot, that was there when i got her flicking i think. Will have to wait an see.

  • The thick silk bed is the cue I use. Mine looks like its getting the bald spots but then nothing happens.

  • Thank you so much for providing this video. Our Chilean molted over Christmas, but we did not get to see it. I love everything this little creature has taught our family, a wonderful edition to anyone that is willing to face their fears while respecting the animal.

  • What are those hole things at 5:30

Is that from the top or the bottom, what was there?

  • Picture the inside of a glove. The 'new' legs came out of the old ones. The holes are the evacuated spaces the legs occupied in the old skin.

  • Well...i think its safe to say my spider fear if officially worse lol.

    Cool video though, nice filming.

  • this is a nice time for the mice to get their revenge

  • Funny, I love spiders, but I can't stand the molting part. I've heard too many horror stories about how they can get hurt. It looks really cool though lol.

  • lol i own a pink toed taranchula and a wolf spider and im not afriad of them and im 12 XD

  • I had a pink toed before, they are beautiful!

  • My B.Vagans Molted today!! Yay for me!!.. Nice vid btw you captured the whole thing on video!!

  • Does the spider feel pain when it gets out of its old layer? Does it feel anything?

  • I have no clue? I guess not really because this is natural for them. When my Iguana sheds its skin it is not in pain, a little itchy though!

  • holy shit...someone needs to lay off the chocolate bars 8-)

  • nice :)

  • Wow, what an interesting video! Thanks for sharing ^.^

I have a gecko who sheds, but I rarely have the fortune to see the sheddings because she eats them rather quickly >.>

  • Thanx!

  • thats rly rly nice :D but im kinda afraid of spiders tho =P even tho i live in norway, thay are still kinda creepy, but thay are amazing creaturs ;)

    great movie mate.

  • Thank you!

  • ^^ np

  • that is a beautiful spider

  • You watched the vid by your choice not mine! Hater has nothing better to do then try to get under people's skin!

  • I got a Rose Haired tarantula spider but I don't know the sex for it

  • Its tricky to tell, the females tend to have a bigger butt. lol its true. Its easy to tell if its a male when it hits maturity. The pedipalps "feelers" get what looks like boxing gloves on the ends. and the front legs get what looks like hooks on it, used to hold back the female when mating. If you do have a male it will only survive until it's next molt.

  • There is a very easy way to tell if your T is a male or female. It's explained in detail in "The Tarantula Keepers Guide".

  • I have that book. It does not help much if the spider has not reached maturity yet.

  • True, but I don't think there is any other way to tell, is there?

  • dude, how big is that thing?

  • About 4 inches across maybe a little more.

  • good video

  • cute sider ;) ,munes cuter though :P

  • I wouldn't live with a monster for a pet even for a million euros - you heard me! I liked the music though. What was it?

  • I don't have a monster for a pet, I have a spider. The music was a loop that came with the editing software.

  • at my highschool we have a pet spider and she molted too, it was soo cool!

  • they must be vulnerable after they shed their skin, you could scare a lot of people leaving the skin around places haha

  • I do!!
