I get really pissed at people who say this is 'fake' or that they can 'debunk' his work. He's a magician, of course its all trickery that's the point. The fact he can put on amazing illusions enables the audience to gaze in wonder and ask themselves how the heck he did it.

This is all a load of made up crap. Live audience... That's a lie. They probably pay them to tell everyone it is live and they just set things up. You can't really control the nation. My boyfriend did this three times, and it worked, in fact, worked too well as he didn't respond to the commands that were played after the video and i ended up having to talk to him and tell him to relax etc. So creepy... we were all pretty drunk at the time and we were just saying nonsense at him and he was convinced he managed to talk back but all he was doing was clicking his teeth at us, he didn't even blink his eyes....

He definetly does not "read minds" but rather puts suggestions into peoples minds.
Example:
He asked a women to draw something on a page "just let a few ideas SAIL into your mind" low and behold she drew a boat and derren guessed correctly.

I never claimed i could do anything, i was just demonstrating to someone that derrens techniques aren't necessarily as sophisticated as he makes them out to be on his show. Derren even admits this himself, im not saying it to debunk his work. The program was once under the science section on the c4 listings, and derren had it removed and put under entertainment. I'm actually a big fan of derren, i have his books and his DVD's, so your attempt at insulting me was really infutille and unecessary.

A magic trick? Care to explain what you mean by that? Anyway, if you watch, you can see people's eyelashes flicker, he probably checks there eye lashes and how much they flicker and determines from that. I don't know, it's just an educated guess.

Ifyou knew really how he did those things you would be really disappointed, because most of it is just well known magic trcks.

No, as in emotions. Example: Thinking of a fierce Tiger or Lion then there will be loads of flickering, thinking of a cute bunny rabbit or kitty then less flickering. That was my educated guess, anyway, how do you except how he 'reads peoples minds', Sherlock?
