@crichton55 Well it wouldn't be rare anymore ;) people would grab thousands of party hats each, people who quite playing (like me) would even come back to do it also. Players wouldn't be able to sell them for more than 100k during at least the 5 subsequent years.
Each and everyone would have them and wear them, and get tired of wearing them, and psychologically, the party hats wouldn't look cool anymore ;)... and I do believe it, sadly... lol

@helper53 I bought it from players who found them on January first 2001. On this very date party hats appeared on the floor all day long... approximately 2-3 per screen and it would reappear once you grabbed one. You could take as many as you wanted...

@LookAVid bots are basically gone, you should have seen how bad it was before,I've played since classic and i can tell you there used to be around 5-10 bots at every yew tree in rs. Now bots are easily detected and rwt is eliminated for the most part so theres no point in botting.

Yes, I think that is what I said in the video, just that it isn't too precisely odered in time. That is just the way I remember it.
The glitch was used to duplicate the purple party hat because it was the most expensive of all... hence it begun dropping in positions as the people learned about the great dupe. Still, when the red was the cheapest and the blue not the most expensive yet, purple (or pink, whatever) was second, and third, then fourth, fifth, until the order we know about today.

ive played since about a week after the release of rsc on and off, even have a warship on one of my banned accounts, rsc was a lot more fun than rs now.. all i do really is get on 5 min a day and ge merch to try and max my cash stack to completely beat the game (one thing i never really did)
jagex instead of banning the accounts back then, removed all the stats and items from the accounts, there's still 1 lvl 3 left that has 9 hp and d slayer done from this glitch, the others are different levels etc.

Yeah, this video seems to look surreal to many of you, but you got to remember that [I'm speaking to all] party hats used to be affordable. I bought mine with the left-over money obtained by questing (more or less), monster killing, and ressource gathering/processing, selling the fully processed stuff (after gaining the xp from it).
In a time where it wasn't common practice to buy raw stuff and process it for fast xp, when you are playing on f2p and you already own the little that you really need (full rune), money was useless and unsellable... it wasn't that hard to buy p hats with it, really.

It is the altar at the "prayer guild", the monastery, that gives that initial +2 bonus.

the glitch at the end you're talking about was actually 5 people (i knew about it but seth wouldnt tell me how)
ive played since about a week after the release of rsc on and off, even have a warship on one of my banned accounts, rsc was a lot more fun than rs now.. all i do really is get on 5 min a day and ge merch to try and max my cash stack to completely beat the game (one thing i never really did)

jagex instead of banning the accounts back then, removed all the stats and items from the accounts, there's still 1 lvl 3 left that has 9 hp and d slayer done from this glitch, the others are different levels etc.

Its sad what happened to Phat Shock, i was a good friend of his... i dont care if you believe me im just telling you. no im not all rich and shit but it was fun to hang out with him he was a cool guy. It was really sad when he quit, and well i hope you never give your pass out so that doesnt happen to you.

I don't think so... at the exact date of january third 2005 I can remember the price of the two cheapests: purple at 7 mil and yellow at 8. (+/- 1). Blue was about 35, and the rest was under between 10 and 20 mil.
In 2003 red p hats were at 500k... Santa hats 150k.

this isnt a private server for a few resons the first one is preety obvious if any of you played a p server there are no snow imps also in dec 2008 there were no 508-525. so stop saying its a private server cause ur jelous

Yeah, merchanting, you know about that too? It was pretty insane what a level 3 with no xp could do... without ever really playing the game itself.
Yeah, this video seems to look surreal to many of you, but you got to remember that [I'm speaking to all] party hats used to be affordable. I bought mine with the left-over money obtained by questing (more or less), monster killing, and ressource gathering/processing, selling the fully processed stuff (after gaining the xp from it).

In a time where it wasn't common practice to buy raw stuff and process it for fast xp, when you are playing on f2p and you already own the little that you really need (full rune), money was useless and unsellable... it wasn't that hard to buy p hats with it, really.
Runescape was pretty simple... linearly fun.
