@JMtheCONQUERER its ok thanks for replyinig!!! to be honest this is the best tutorial that actually shows how to do it!!! added this to my favs :D thanks!!!
When creating UV Maps, I strongly recommend you initially let Blender create the new image with the "UV Test Grid" option enabled. This will allow you to see if your unwrap produces odd seams, stretching or shrinking in various areas. It is a delicate balance between creating a good UV Map and one that a texture artist can work with.
I agree, my tutorials are kind of old now. So theres a lot more thats been added to blender since then that makes things a lot more convenient for 3D workflow.
hey im looking into graphics design and all that video game stuff, i am a freshman so anybody have any tips to for me to get ready for college, what college should i look into goin to, and what should i major in?
ok, it might be a 2.46 thing, but when i go into file, there is no "pack data" but could it possibly be "external data" > pack into blend? thanks in advance

Excellent tutorial, thanks for taking the time to explain this in detail. It really made all the difference for me in understanding unwrapping.

Ye, but unfortunately computers cannot understand art and shape. You have to guide it to make any logic out of something we take for granted.
