bro, im new to this and got everything working but 1 problem of mines is when i play the keyboard part, when i hold it down it doesn't record the full length on how long i hold it. but it works in the laptop or desk top when i hold it down.......i use mpk25
@KDUB184 well you have to be good at it, and then its about £200 for the MIDI controller, £300-£500 for the thing under the laptop, however much your laptop/new laptop costs, and then the software, which is around £300 unless you torrent it like me
okay, so why do you bring out the gear and only show the keys primarily, I want to see a few variations within the banks for the beat pads and you never even touched the tuning knobs. maybe some beats made without a metronome would have been better.
@alberteifican Apc will help you control a bit better. It doesn't have effects but does have a hands on device section that allows you to control effects in a more intuitive way.
i know these are stupid questions but how do you get the pads to be more sensative to the touch and how do you get it to keep playing back and fourth? im new to the mpc world and new with the ableton program
Great hands-on video man! Question though. How does this compare with M-audio oxygen 25 in terms of build quality and overall control of ableton? Thanks and happy holidays!
nice vid bro! question, what are you using in Ableton to program the drum pads? and do you program them on a seperate channel than your synth? thanks a bunch man. peace.
Whats The Ableton softwear you get with the mpk25 like. im just waiting on my 2 arrive from hard 2 find. as wel as a rane ttm 57 and video sl. whats sort of laptop would u say i should get 2 run all this. apart from a mac pro. thanks man
@alex927 Dont buy M Audio anything! they fucking suck! I bought a fast track pro from them only to find out that the driver does not even work in xp and they plan on doing nothing about it!
by the way the other "thing" is an Akai apc40 if you like ableton and dont have one of these, look up some vids itll blow your mind. . . changed my world
Nice vid i have the same set up except i use a dell, all the tools you need to make studio quality music from your living room, unlimited potential in such a small package and together cost less than $600 plus the computer
Please can you tell me if the mpk 25 works properly with the abelton live 8 ?just bought it and trying to find a software for it ,can suggest any. Thanks
@GirlnamedBobby, yea I agree. It wouldn't be for everyone but I wouldn't mind a smaller version with smaller keys and smaller pads to carry around anywhere
i got the same problem - ive heard you can get a microsoft windows for mac and then you can use the fruity - or just learn logic - but i dont like logic!
yea i got logic to but i dont really like it either, i just copped the mpk25 and it comes with ableton live so i think ima just learn how to use that and go from there... there is a way you can get windows on your mac and everytime you start up your mac it will ask you if you wanna run on windows or OSX... but i dont think ima take that route... lol
yes u can. I am not using an interface on that video actually. just ghetto rigged to stereo. In studio, I use Alesis io26. Your call on it pretty much
@ lighter334 -- Thanks for the info. I am hoping that it is a plug and play set up with Logic, just trying to see which controller works best with Logic 8. Good to hear that pads feel better (",)
I cannot decide between MPK25 and M-AUDIO Axiom 25. Is MPK25 worth the extra buck and is it better than Axiom? I am running Logic Pro 8. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
@fxp04 do you need a certain kind of speakers for a laptop to work an mpk25 or can u use any speaker u jus need a certain cable. and my mpk 25 came with abelton, but which is better, the fl studio of abelton..
Do you have to have the apc to get this thing to have decent sounds to control? I have the mpk but all I can get it to control are the lame midi sounds that come with abelton. I feel like I'm missing something
APC is just a controller. It does not do anything to the actual sound quality. what ableton instruments are u using? Ableton is usually top notch. are you sure u are accessing all of the ones u have available. You can also buy instrument packs
@KinslayerKyle It is a midi controller so in theory, YES. However, the lay out is design after Ableton's workflow and the triggers light up as you load clips on ableton. Meaning, it will not look as fancy and pretty and it will require midi mapping
Turn those hats down boyy...man your lucky I'm getting n mpd24 nd planing on getting this...then I'll uprade them in a few years....how much did the mpk25 cost
@KanyeisBest815 Right now, It's 250 at guitar center, which is the lowest I've seen it in a while other than used ones on Ebay. Usually GC is super mad overpriced, but I could actually afford this one. I will say now: This controller is AWESOME!
I'm a bass player myself and rarely record pieces when I use the full keyboard. There is an octave selector. However, if you wanna play with both hands on, you might wanna check the bigger versions like the 49, 61 or 88
Hello i have also Apple . I want to get into the mixing bits:) i don t have much knowledge about it but i can play piano and i have a good ear for the beats.
