ya but dont hit nearly as hard plus they still maintain good sq while in a ported box. but ur box is to big and ur amp if over rated there not gettin 1000 watts each.
I dont think thats fake. I have 2 type x's and my detector falls off the window. Thats why I have it on the dash. You need to see type x subs in person...they would scare you if there set up correctly.
no...they pick up more lower notes with an enclosure tuned to 30Hz. You don't want a box with high frequences because it will creat a constant moan. The bass won't be as tight at 40Hz compared 30Hz..
o ok i was just woundering cus im bout 2 get a car soon and i love loud music not only loud but clear and clean sounding no distortion u know lol. so my next question is do i start off with cheap subs like xplodes and duals and such than work my way up to the big boyz idk
I just bought two 12" alpine type X, and a 3200w RMS power ackoustic amp. im going to stick them in a ported box turned to about 30 hrtz, i got a 240 amp alternator and a red top for starting and a yellow for deep cycle, also a 100 farad cap. so thats 1600w rms running to each sub, anyone thinks thats to much power or knows its to much power?
dude thats to much not the rms on the subs its the 240amp alt and the red top and the yellow top and a 100 farad cap thats pointless i only have my stock 100amp alt and stock battery and 2 kinetic 1400w and my shit is perfect no light dim at all i have a 1999 camaro but my box is sealed its made just for the camaro ive already crack the back glass and fucked up my rear view mirror
upgrade your amp and u'll increase the bass by like 50%.. type x's can push a hell of a lot harder than this ive got my type x's hooked up to 2 alpine PDX 1.1000's.. expensive but worth it
Iv Got A Single Special Edition XType 12in Wired To A 1.4kw rms amp in one of my cars And Trust Me, The More Power You Can Afford The Better, You Never Regret Buying Alpine High End.
hey man that system is fucking bangin beyond belief, i'm hell envious :( what mids and highs you running? i got two type R's and it probably aint even hitting half as hard as that, but i don't have the cash to pay for dual type X's since i'm only 16 :(
I got my type x's last year when I was 17 =p I total'd my car into a deer and bought them with insurance money though. I have type alpine r's in the doors, alpine type s's in the back deck, and little alpine tweeters up front, all ran by an infinity 4 channel amp.
hmm well i live in australia so i'm guessing i might just have to find the nearest kangaroo to play chicken with :) nice with the mids and highs, i just have all type R mids with PDX4.150
I have a yellowtop under the hood, 2gauge wire back to the trunk where there's another yellowtop, about 3feet of 4 gauge going from the 2nd yellowtop to the amp. I built the box, ported is better than sealed, but you need a bigger ported box to get the deep notes that a smaller sealed box gets. Ported gives better sound IMO, and a lot more of it.
thanks, i was thinking of putting another yellowtop in the trunk, does the alternator have enough juice to power both, the reason why Im asking is that my bass cutts in half after I start the the car, and sometimes when im driving itll go back on.
if im making a 4.13 cubic foot box, for my 2 12s, what size aeroports do i need for 33Hz?

lol at the FAKE movment on the radar. its just tight on the mirror. lol
plus hella port noise.
i dont think ill ever be impressed by type x's
TheEvilOne343 2 years ago
Hella port noise? Lol.
Wasn't aware you could decipher port noise on a camera that can barely pick up the notes the subs are playing.
"Fake" movement, wow. I don't think I'll ever stop being impressed by the stupidity of YouTube members.
Numonewhiteboy 2 years ago
look at it again buddy. its tight on the mirror, thus since the mirror is moving the radar is going to move.
and your right on the port noise but the port looks fairly small and i can hear what sound like turbulance in the port. so yes i say hella port noise.
TheEvilOne343 2 years ago
I agree w you.. at :18-23 you can definately hear port noise. Should've went slot port

4" ports and possibly longer. The box has the space. I prefer 3-4 feet of air and about 25 inches of port surface area.

2 yellowtops should be plenty, an aftermarket high-output alternator isn't made for my car, but my stereo seems to be fine now with 2 yellowtops
