Hi Rich, sorry to see you're going through a hard time. We all have those days. You mentioned you needed a change, and as someone who have also dealt with social anxiety (in college and in life), I'd suggest majoring in art (drawing & painting, illustration, etc.). When working in the studio, it's pretty easy-going, and all artists whom I've met are friendly and approachable. I would say that it takes an artist to understand a "psycho," as you put it.
@shadowsonthehills continue...I notice that art majors tend to "get" and know what isolation/loneliness is like because I see it in their art all the time. They express through their paintings/drawings. Also if you can't afford the money to go to school, you can always apply for financial aid or get student loans. Although it sucks to pay back money after you graduate, you know that you can stand tall knowing earned a degree. Remember, the will to create is greater than the will to destroy.
I have an interview tomorrow and I'm a nervous wreck.
