I've learned to do crochet, knitting, painting, music, math, science...etc...through YouTube. And, thank you to you and others who had taken time to share your special skill and talent, making our lives so much richer. Thank you very much.
thanx for your demonstrations..i would like to make a jumper for my daughter 9 months..can i use this pattern for the jumper. Any suggestions are welcome.Thanx
hi i love all your videos you taught me how to do so many wonderful stitches was wondering if you have any crochet cable videos, im trying to crochet a sweater
Hi, i like this pattern, i just ordered soft and chunky yarn and now i'm not sure i want to use a new pattern i learned, i'm making an afghan for my daughter, would this yard work and what hook, and do you thing this would be of for an afghan or more for baby blankets, thank you Diane
Does ribbing fits on the scarf? I am just starting to learn to crochet, but Im not good with ideas. Im tryiing to look for ways to make a scarf. I dont know which one will be best to make a scarf for a friend? Thank you.
i teach alot of women going thru drug and alcohol recovery and domestic violence. they often dont want to learn but you have taught me patience. even tho i am not an expert i teach them your way so they learn correctly. thank you very much for your videos. you are an excellent teacher.
@tippersmami Thank you for the very touching comment! I have been putting a lot of thought in to volunteering in to my local community in some way. You have given me a great idea!
This tutorial was so helpful! Thanks!! I have been trying to figure out how to do the ribbing for quite some time and just reading about it is barely helpful at all. Again, thank you so much!
what a beautiful stitch! as always you are an inspiration to me, and my entire crochet group, KNOTTY GIRLS, from northeast Texas. Keep up the great tutorials, Teresa!!! And thanks again! :)
I'm watching e video, but isn't the thing you keepcaling a back loop the ridge in front of the stitch? you don' look like you're going through the actual BL.
I've watched this twice and I still can't figure it out. Shame really because I wanted to make something for a friend; I suppose I'll just have to learn how to sew, this looks too complicated for me and I don't have one of those awesome crochet-hook-needle-things.
I am crocheting a baby sweater and the stitch I am caught up on is on the sleeves-
(Work a further 3 rows even in hdc. Rep last 4 rows 2 (3-4-4) times more. 33 (37-39-41, 43) sts. Repeat last 4 rows 4 rimes more. 39 st.) there is only 29 sts. pls help.
Teresa... You are an inspiration to women of all ages. I thought I knew how to crochet, lol, but you bring a whole new meaning to the art. I have learned so much. Thank you a million times for your wonderful, extremely easy to follow video's. All my family are now fans of yours, and I have a large family. :)
ya i agree with savetheplanetfromyou!if you're trying to teach, you need some slow motion action or somethin! you just go into your own little world and seem to forget that we have no clue what you're doing or talking about. at least move your thumb every now and then so i can see what you're doing... i'm really not trying to be nasty or anything, but i just want to learn so bad and your videos can be a little frustrating,,,sorry
@jelly1245 Slow motion starts at time code 2:08 and lasts through time code 3:21. Watch the video the next time before you try to critique something you have not watched. If you are a beginner, you will need to learn the basic stitches.
You should be grateful to Teresa, that she is trying to teach everybody and you don't even have to pay for it. She is a generous and talented lady and I learned from her so much as the only thing I could do were chains or borders. I just love her videos and thank them so much. There are not enough words to thank her.
@mariat299 Agree with you so very much. Teresa is such a generous and wonderful person. To give of her time, effort, and talent to help teach us all for free is so awesome. Without her excellent instructions and help I would NEVER have been able to create most of the things that I have made for my family. She teaches and shows in a way that I can finally understand how to do the beautiful stitches. Thank you with ALL of my heart Teresa... you're an Angel!!
I can't offer you enough compliments on your video tutorials. You have made SUCH a difference for SO many people! Kudos to you! (c; Please add the last segment of this video "joining ribbing edges to form a cuff or band" to your list of tips. I remembered this segment when I learned the ribbing stitch and was happy to find it again today! I think the explanation is perfect and it helps us visualize where to place the needle when joining ends. A perfect addition to your tips page!
thanks for sharing this tutorial vid! so easy to follow! i am beginner in this whole crochet thing. and your vids are very helpful. i am looking forward to see more easy and fun projects! keep it up! ^_^
You are welcome. There are a lot to choose from. Let me know if you need help finding something. I do have a lot of them organized in playlists on my main channel page. Click on playlists to see the rest of them.
G'day, No mater what stitch I'm looking for I can always come to your videos & find what I'm wanting to learn... thank you so much for being there & putting your skills out there for us to access so easily. Your generosity is most appreciated... B
Cool stitch. But I wanted to thank you. I have done very simple crochet over the years and never knew anything except maybe a scarf. Then got burned out and left it for years. Since I have found your video's I have made so much and I am so into it. I feel like with the life I have crochet has somewhat saved my sanity and I wanted to tell you that you are a major part of that. Thank you so much and God Bless. VB
at first i wasnt sure if i was doing it right but this video really helped thank you so much you are an excellent teacher. i think im ready to get started on the ipod sock. =) thank you again
When you complete the first side of ribbing, you would just crochet in the top of the stitches, like you regularly crochet so you won't be creating the ribbing effect.
I refer all of my peeps to your YouTube videos - they are very easy to understand and accessible from just about anywhere - even my BlackBerry! If I forget how to do something, I'll check your channel first before I go to "The Google." Great example of ribbing and how to join the ends :-)
I've learned to do crochet, knitting, painting, music, math, science...etc...through YouTube. And, thank you to you and others who had taken time to share your special skill and talent, making our lives so much richer. Thank you very much.

can you do ribbing with any kind of stitch? i'd want to try it w/ this double crochet.
monkichirmon 3 years ago
You can do this with double crochet. I have a tutorial for Half Double crochet. It would be the same only using a double crochet instead.
tjw1963 3 years ago
how can you make a hat using ribbing? do you have videos on this?
lovelee245336 3 years ago
I'd like to apply this ribbing stich to a beanie, is that possible? Like the ribbing going vertically on the beanie.
tlwlvr 3 years ago
You can do it. There are two ways you can do it.
1.You can make the ribbing by attaching it to the beanie as you go along. You will have the weight of the hat at an awkward angle.
2.I prefer to make the ribbing separate and attaching upon completion. This method is quicker and looks nicer when finished.
tjw1963 3 years ago
Thank you for showing the video, But how would you do the ribbing on the same side constantly?
6479691 3 years ago
When you complete the first side of ribbing, you would just crochet in the top of the stitches, like you regularly crochet so you won't be creating the ribbing effect.

never mind. i went further into the video and i realize that it creates the ribbing design.

Not only can you use it for the ribbing on a sweater but you could make a headband if that is something you would use.
