When this was aired back in 2005 (I was 8) I decided to watch this. Then my mum turned it off and I had no idea why.

I don't think the cute CGI animals and the slogan "from the creators of Shrek" help. I mean, when you are young it does give you the impression that it's a kid's show. xD

@MissBarghest lol. I used to watch this all the time but my mom never turned the tv off. I dont think she knew it was tv-14 either. Its just one of those shows that after watching a few epiodes you get a deja vu feeling and remember it.

Haha well... I was allowed to watch South Park with my brother, sister and dad when I was like... 2 or 3. Obviously I just thought it was another harmless cartoon. But then I started repeating things like "oh for f**k sake" or "OMG they killed Kenny! You bastard!" so I was stopped.

But yeah... When you are 8 you start to repeat things more or question things. So that was probably the reason my mum didn't let me watch this.

I used to love this show when I was a kid and for a while I thought it got canceled because it was too expensive. Then I went back and watched a few episodes and discovered that so many of the episodes are PAINFULLY unfunny! Most of it sounds like it was written by 13 year olds who just discovered swear words. I guess that's what you get for putting all your money into animation and advertising, you end up having to get cheep writers.

Siegfried and Roy were funny as hell, tho!

He he. It's not so much sex references that makes my day but the casual ways they are pulled off. This episode is still not that great IMO because it's a little bit "We make a sex joke every other minute *giggle*" under the surface, and that's annoying.

The real reason why this show got canceled was because Jeffery Katzenberg said that each episode cost 1.6 million to and nine months to make. And Dreamworks didn't want to spend all their time working on just one show when the have a annual goal of release two new movies every year.

After Roy got attacked he was afraid he would have been seen as insensitive. But the Real Siegfried and Roy actually said to him that they see laughter as the best medicine and they actually liked the show.

I seem to remember a japanese cartoon that was 'americanized' and broadcast during the 70s. In spite of the edits, that show took a mature approach to storytelling. (ie crew members died and we *all* knew that wasn't 'spring water')

If shows like Star Blazers, Daria, Downtown and Batman: TAS are considered 'adult' then I say, 'Bring it on!!'

While I don't mind the occasional bit of mindless drivel, shows like Family Guy and the (current) Simpsons have taken it **WAY** too far.
