That glassy-eyed look, devoid of emotion, that Harper had throughout this debate, is the look of a liar.....someone who is speaking from premeditated scripting.....and totally devoid of any real humanity. It is absolutely incredible and demoralizing that we could have elected such a corporate puppet.
Raising the corporate taxes is bad. Remember that big businesses employ lots of REGULAR MIDDLE CLASS CITIZENS and with the lower taxes they have the ability to hire more and the ability gets even better as the economy gets better thanks to lower taxes!
What Harper just stated is very true. If you understand economics at all, you would know that imposing higher taxes on corporations during a time of economic instability is a very poor decision.
Higher taxes make it more difficult to do business because it becomes harder to turn a profit. If an organization is not able to make a profit it can not grow. Companies need capital to reinvest.
This basic principal allows for human ingenuity and technological advancement.
@cooll6 Large corporations already have large profit margins, studies show that a lower tax rate is not bringing any new investment to Canada, and that corporations are simply pocketing the extra money not help to create more jobs and enrich society.
the best comment was iggy using an old chinese communist slogan ( let the flowers grow ) Is it warm in here? I think I need a mountain dew. cough cough

Canada Corporate Tax 18%,USA 35%
Go figure.

@cooll6 21% before January 1, 2008
19.5% effective January 1, 2008
19% effective January 1, 2009
18% effective January 1, 2010
16.5% effective January 1, 2011
15% effective January 1, 2012
There's no reason why, post-recession, corporate tax rates cannot move up to the rate before before January 1, 2008.

Harper has to go before his conservative philosophy takes Canada down the same disastrous road that the U.S. is on.
