Besides, we're talking of a game here, and its the work of fantasy; there is no rule as to limiting fantasy to fit history is there? (Not that I've heard of any.) People should be free to just express their imagination as they like, and we're here to enjoy the game. It's an exiting game anyway and I love to play it when I have the time.
Even though I'm Asian, I have no objection that the important people of every place had their own patriotisme, and also some fault of intolerence. It cannot be denied that everyone competes for superiority, and that's how there was war in history; even I would like to go back and re-do the whole history. But we musn't forget what exists today is because of the things that happened.
We just do not try to repeat what had caused everyone trouble long ago and live in peace with the world.
Haha. Even KOEI knows who's right. Yeah. Like someone said already. Try to compare old maps to today's maps. Also this was on News several years ago. Japanese media was interviewing atomic bomb droppers(the pilots of B29) and asked how they felt about dropping A-bomb. The pilot said: (if you didn't attack Pearl Harbor, I wouldn't have dropped it) Enough said. What? Who? When? Who started War between US and Japan again?
No,Most of "Mer de Coree" description was drawn on East coast of Koraen peninsula incruding Broughton bay (today's TongjoseongMan) before La perouse. The map drawn "Mer du Coree like this movie is not majority. Sea of Japan and Sea of Korea is different. that is to say,,, East sea or Korean sea is part of Sea of Japan.
Uhm... I'm american... but Japanese media and Japan are a whole lot obsessed about "crushing" or "being superior" to other Asian Nations, especially that of South Korea (only country currently capable of showing some "better" or "more advanced" things than Japan)... Just saying...
Revisionism? That's exactly what the sea was called at the time. If you want to talk about revisionism, then compare old maps to today's maps and try to think about who's doing the revisionism today.
The Japs are pissed off because Koei chose to use some old French map that happened to list that sea as "Mer de Coree" when there are plenty of other maps that give that sea different names, such as "Sea of Japan." Basically typical territorial squabbles amplified by recent Korean historical revisionism (aka, stupid "East Sea" junk)
It was called many things depending on who was drawing the map. What's wrong is how a Japanese company decided to choose a particular map that listed that sea as "Mer de Coree," when there are other maps that call it "Mer de Japon." Japs can get pretty angry about stuff like that.

Nope, not just the Japanese. As an American I always laugh at how Koreans want to re-write their history. How childish.

Mar de coree = SEA OF KOREA
