  • @TrillianS8 yes Bianca is left, Sierra is right

  • @misslostinthoughts its about the women in middle east countries get acid thrown on them when they "misbehave"

  • That cover has fulfilled my Johnny Depp as a woman dressed up as Johnny Depp playing a pirate fetish. Thank you!

  • Thank you god, for this fine, fine girls .)

  • beyond what we can conceive?

    not quite

i will admit this song is pretty cool.

    but i'm conceiving it all

    haha

now if you listen to dan deacon...well....you wont be able to conceive his music.

    you wont.

    he's a genius

  • uhm

well i think someone somewhere said that this music was beyond what we can conceive.

but i think dan deacon is much more inconceivable than this guy

    ahaha

  • @dandyrandy88

I have listened to it. Its like trying to listen to dillenger escape plan. in my oppinion too chaotic. Still i respect him for his music and obvious diferences.

  • wht`s genere of music is?.....

    example: ambient, rock, etcc.

    thank's

  • @erfo is Freak folk, a very strange genere, cocorosie has a very unique music, they use kid toys, arps, exotic sounds, beatbox...

  • @erfo experimental, folk, progressive, weird pop elements, electronic bases, folk instruments ...its a mix that for some people is dificult to eat (im spanish and i dont know the translation)

:) i like it but not all the songs

  • Trip hop is live !!!

  • I adore

  • wow dis song is making me do lots of crazy activity!

  • lovely music, it makes you think

  • i think i came a little when i found out they made a fourth album. I cant wait till they blow the top off and we can find them anywhere. As it is its like you have to special order the shit from Paris.

  • @FoxyRoxies do you mean special order their albums? Go onto legalsounds [dot] com to find their stuff

  • yes. Here you can't just go into a music store and find them, you always have to order them.

  • 0:20 "dige ashki nadaram" = "now I haven't got a tear left"

  • this is my favorite album so far. very tranquil.

  • so what language is that in the background and at the beginning? sounds nordic, but i could be wrong. Love, love this song, I saw them in LA and they're awesome live, Sierra did this breakdance/raindance thing to techno music =D

  • @sairahola its farsi

  • @huckleberrynods haha, I was so off! Nadaram is a familiar word, I used to work with Persians, but I totally didn't catch it in the song

  • I'm split on CocoRosie, I like some songs by them but others I just can't listen to. They're definitely an acquired taste. It's pretentious to assume anyone only listens to them to be "different" though, more pretentious than the people some of you assume are the fanbase for the band. Then again, our culture teaches people that their opinion is the only one that ever matters so haters gone hate.

  • @thesuckmynuts69 Good points. I would tend to disagree if this music had a degree of originality, but it does not. There are bands that have done it much better. See: Mum, Mirah, etc. Angelic aesthetics to not mingle well with lackadaisical and shitty execution (although, there is a legitimate place for both musical approaches) I may be an indiefuck myself, but I hate regurgitated scenester bullshit.

  • ok i like the song but what the fuck is that picture?

  • @BOLAAND How could you compare Justin Bieber to CocoRosie?

  • i love cocorosie <3

  • This was the opening song of the Rome concert (18-7-10), obviuosly I was there.

Lights went down, Sierra started singing this song, with a kind of symphonic arrangement, and with a "thicker" voice, and for the following five minutes I felt in heaven.

This song is beautiful, and the live version maybe is even better. I sure hope Cocorosie sooner or later will release a "live" album.

I would be so proud in saying "I was there!" :-)

  • CocoRosie its one of the most GENUINE bands in the world... it isn't manny people who can get a project like CocoRosie to become known... Im from tiny tiny Norway, and i have been on one of there Conserts!!

    Lovely!!!

  • goosebumps for hours... beauiful

  • And also the lyrics go: "Acid burned face clowny tear smile" and considering the songs title: R.I.P. Burn Face, I would say that this song's about how in some cultures, women get burned in the face by acid being thrown at them, this has several causes, it may be not following cultural or traditional rules, like having sex before marriage, being gay etc. I would say it's about suppressed women, in countries like dictatorship Iran but also in the rest of the world. conclusion; It's about women.

  • So I don't know if you guys captured it but the women talking here and there in another language is talking Persian, in the first few seconds she says something like: "when you laugh, I want to cry" I can't really hear because of the background music, and then at 1:38 she says: "I think to myself, that from now on I will never see my family again" and at 2:43 she says something about killing herself, I can't really hear. Those are the three lines that are repeated.

  • @n0nameee great reading into this song. would have never thought to draw those conclusions from it. brings me a whole new understanding of the song. thanks, really.

  • @n0nameee actually in the beginning she says "If we laugh, it's because this laughter has come from crying" and then "I have no more tears" just before Sierra starts singing. The stuff around 2:43 is harder to decipher. It made me so happy that they use such diverse cultural elements in their music. Ecclectic CocoRosie as always.

  • @n0nameee

    farsi not persian.

  • @cyrusmohrdar Farsi and Persian are the same, no?

  • @iminthedark1221 yes they're the same

  • such a great album! one of my favorites off of grey oceans

  • This song is one of my favourites however I fail to grasp the full meaning. Would someone care to decontsruct it for me? In other words, what is it about?

  • can anyone tell me what the sound at 3.03 is?

probably electronic, yet could not be

next youtube would like me to listen to Chopin,Nocturne, opus 27#2, piano solo. sounds like a good follow-up

  • this album is a return to form after the spotty "adventures of..." album

  • 1:22!

  • Oh shit those wacky sisters are up to hijinx again!

    Awesome!

  • Absolutely beautiful. This is the most lovely thing CocoRosie has done, and that is saying something.

  • Me want more

  • @raezen completely agree with u. that version was absolutely beautiful and i do like it a bit more but that's only because the live versions of their songs are on another level

  • I feel like a vengful angel of the spamers right now. I'dlike to know who did this to you, I'd spam it's ass to oblivion! Thanks for this info raezen. Some don't know how to research, hence the stupidity. O8KqDz1emDQ I think that's the one.
