Take it as a lesson next time you watch any news station that the majority of newscasters and commentators are near-sighted idiots. The unemployment occurs because

1) businesses don't want to drop their prices and wages down to "realistic" levels, which everyone admits where too high.

2) As customers shift their preferences, entrepreneurs follow, and efficient, profit making employment can continue. But if Govt interferes to prevent the shift, then the jobs can't be created, and unemployment continues
