The signal is on a loop, like an automated distress beacon. When reversed and slowed down, it says "the alien is never alive" (Also near the end you can hear it say "help me, help me")

No, Its not. The Alien blaster is still there, you just need to have Dogmeat get it for you. And even if you dont, when you complete the "Mothership Zeta" its still there.

i played mothership zeta many times and i still got the alien blaster at the end because during the gameplay the aliens bring it back to the mothership and when u get bac to earth the alien and gun and bullets are still there except 4 the ship

You retard. The alien ship in Fallout has NOTHING to do with the story line. No side quest. No dialog. Just a radio signal to help you find it (because the signal gets stronger the closer you are) and all it does is give you a weapon.

It does have to do with the upcoming expansion, mothership zeta. The whole expansion is based on the aliens coming back to earth because they are responding to that distress call.
