Santana's first decade of recorded material, 1969-1979, contains a great deal of the best music I've heard in my life: From the classic first three albums, to the 1972-1974 experimental records, to the 1976-1978 soulful Greg Walker period. I guess they raised the song's key here for allowing Greg's voice to shine. Very good video, thanks for uploading.
How come the original musician are not playing and singing it easy in today to use computer imaging to make some one look like theyre playing. Plus I see Carlos has are moving to quick and in the wrong key to be playing. And what happen to women singer that are singing on the album and whats theyre names.
Leon Patillo, who sang the song originally on 'Festival' had left the band before this was recorded along with drummer Gaylord Birch. Otherwise they ARE the original musicians plus guests Tower Of Power. Also, Carlos IS playing. This is live. The Waters Family sang on the album but never toured with Santana.
I saw him back after the before albume was released back in 1976 I just got married and my wife wanted to get into that seen. I never seen any of the people that you mention. I was in the army I was in germany. I do remember working in Los Angeles back in 1973 on an album with Chick Coria and my Ex Patty Long and Jerry Gracia and other on an Album that was similar to Festival. I did some vocals and played guitar. Maybe your histroy is a little skued. that the same people who played on Amigo.
I also remember that person Escabado I think how you spell that playing there I tolk right I recorded that little seen or song that you have but that was back in 1974 and he was telling me that he made the music play by dacning.
Plus the brass section could be tower of power i had a band and that band played on kool and gang album and some tower of power albums. I did a in concert show with them in 1975, and also i played with pink floyd and came out on the movie the wall that me on the Piano. may be that why my name is in all Carlos music, plus my nick name is crow.
You might not like this, people at the studio that I was working at want to give the Santana because my great,, grandfather was Santa Ana that what they told me but I did not want to be call Satin because that Santana means that Carlos Santana was going be my name. Plus I played with tower of power it a high band we did not come from Oakland, I also were cool and gang pick floyd and other bands.
I remember seeing this show on PBS back in 1977. It mesmerized me then and made me go buy the album (LP). I just it dug out of the closet. This was back in the day when they played real music (HORNS) and sang real songs. Searching the Internet for the CD now...

If dats true, I mean if dats Tower of Power in the back, Now it makes since to why I particularly Love this Song, Of course not excluding Greg Walker/Carlos Santana And the Written Lyrics,Muy Linda Musica always in my Repueta Arcives.....Thanx 4 Posting
Talk about Nastalgic this song and its harmony should of taken it to be the the main song of its album, I just couldnt believe the words and its content...Pero en mi casa esta cancion por siempre se toca. Majestic to its tone but thats the way it is! Muy Linda Musica.
And with the great Tower of Power of horn section!!!
