@foongabasthor Warraq bring up some interesting points. I think many if not most translations of the Qur'an have been manipulated by Wahhabi-like manipulations. When he mentions that the word virgin has been mistranslated and actually means maiden, I don't doubt that. With this I don't doubt that the story of the virgin birth of Jesus may also have been a hoax.

Hey budduy, have you read your holy book? If you had looked closely, maybe you'll realise the idea of pre-destination is rife in the scriptures. It seems God actually pre-ordained who is to be a beleiver and who isn't, despite the occasional contradictory lapse, such as the one you quoted. So I guess, the merciful and compassionate, actually pre-plans people going to hell. What a wonderful being!

I'm a Muslim and I'm a reader of Ibn Warraq. I don't agree with all he says but he makes good points. I'm pro reformation. Prosperity for the Muslims happened when we were pro diversity, critical thinking, and science. Muslims should get rid of the corrupt clerics who are against criticism, science and critical thinking. Thanks for uploading this vid.

In Muslim history, since the death of the Prophet there has been no united Caliphate, it is a romantic myth. If the Islamic world actually grew up and started to leave past its ignorant and fearful, faith-based theocracies and autocracies, maybe it would be able to be as successful as the 'West' and may I add, China and India. Malcolm X was a great man who made the error of fleeting one ignorant, oppressive religion (Christianity) for a more oppressive and barbarous one (Islam). Had Malcolm escaped assassination by Elijah Muhammad's goons, this insightful leader might have outgrown and discarded Islam, as he did the Nation of Islam and its narrow anti-White ideology.

I just watched Ibn Warraq. I think it is great that he is providing criticism of the Qur`an that others won't provide. Those who disagree with his discourse or research should refute him by writing journals or books. Not ad hominem or personal attacks in academic settings!
