fantastic album.....i'm glad LP presented this..It's a nice Album containing amazing songs to listen..evry song has a meaning of it's own..must listen to every song of this album
I agree with many.... this album didn't blow my hair back initially... at least not like previous albums.... I've owned it since day one, but put it aside as I wasn't feeling it... I'm just now starting to really listen to it... and I now like it... I also notice more to each song than initially....
Now if they would quite with all the garbage in front and between each song(outtakes..etc), and just get down to the music, we'll be doing just fine.
When I first heard the songs from this album, I wasn't impressed. But then I gave them a chance; I sat down, closed my eyes and listened. And it wasn't the songs' beat that I held on from that moment onwards, it was the songs' message, lyrics, meaning. If you fail to see that, it's only to be expected you won't like the song. Even so, don't bash them for experimenting, and in my opinion, succeeding doing so, provide a constructive critique, a reason why you dislike, and we'll all get along.

I agree, I enjoyed hybrid theory, meteora, collision course, and even some of minutes to midnight, more than I enjoyed anything on this album, but you have to hand the respect out to these guys.
@DerBossLUEKU The other songs don't sound like music? This album actually HAS meaning to it, which is what mainstream doesn't have these days. This IS music, it's just expressed in a different way. Linkin Park couldn't stay on the SAME EXACT STYLE for 12 years so they experimented. At first I didn't like it, but you really have to hear the songs by heart to truly understand them, which is why I believe this album to be the most complex of LP.

As someone who isn't a complete hater of their latest album; it does have some good tracks, I like them for what they are... I certainly don't like them because it's Linkin Park. Because it's not. That's all there is to it. Other than Chester and Mike's vocals, it doesn't sound like LP.
I love to death every song out of their first two albums. Minutes to Midnight, about half of the songs; THAT one was changing a "TINY bit". A Thousand Suns, probably about a fourth. blar

I do miss the old Linkin Park, but they didn't sell-out they are just trying something new and if you compare this album to all the crap that is on the radio nowadays you will know that "A thousand suns" is a good album.

@9winters5 No, just listen to the interludes with the song before it. Like Empty Spaces with When they Come for me, Wisdom Justice and Love with Iridescent or Fallout with The Catalyst. It really adds to the effect of the songs and makes them alot cooler.

I first streamed A Thousand Suns online through their myspace page and I was still as excited as the other albums! Just got tickets to see them in February, can't wait! People critisize that LP is a bunch of "sell-outs" but what or who are they selling out to? Just because they make their music the way they want to and try new things for the fans makes them sell-outs? Ridiculous. LP is still making great tunes and putting on great shows!

Big fan LP, however I noticed with each album it takes me a little longer to get used to their new style. I do miss their old style, but I understand that you gotta change up a bit to be current and relevant in order to stand out and not sound like everyone else while everyone is trying to sound like LP. A true test to the phrase: "If it's not broke, don't fix it."

LMAO. ATS is concept album. every song is related to another song. ATS needs to be judge has a single chapter. the words are powerful, the vocal are impressive only thing that ATS lack is band's originality. Rest is just beautiful.

i just got done listening to A Thousand Suns and it was okay i guess (it wasn't bad). The big problem I had with this Album is that it had no replay value. There were no songs that stood out in my opinion (even with all that synthesizer crap).
I understand craving that nu-metal/ hip-hop linkin park that got most of us into this band, and I can even understand how most people enjoy their old stuff better, but I just can't understand how a lot of people wouldn't like this album at all.
I mean yeah, at first it was different and unique, but this album definitely grew on me as I listened to it more and more.

@jtyrone what u refer as to bubblegum pop music is the arrangement of a more complex musical theme than as to what they used to be...im talking about the traditional ditortioned guitar , deep bass , the rapping and the screaming...people just have to be more open minded about what the band is trying to create

Nu-metal was never deep, so I doubt this shit is deep either. They were better at guitar riffing songs like 'with you' or 'faint'.

@9winters5 No, just listen to the interludes with the song before it. Like Empty Spaces with When they Come for me, Wisdom Justice and Love with Iridescent or Fallout with The Catalyst. It really adds to the effect of the songs and makes them alot cooler.

I first streamed A Thousand Suns online through their myspace page and I was still as excited as the other albums! Just got tickets to see them in February, can't wait! People critisize that LP is a bunch of "sell-outs" but what or who are they selling out to? Just because they make their music the way they want to and try new things for the fans makes them sell-outs? Ridiculous. LP is still making great tunes and putting on great shows!

@LSUXLIV In Feb where are you seeing LP at?. LP has some good songs on the new album The Messenger is not that bad, Waiting For The End is good to. But Wretches And Kings sounds to me anyway that their is something missing in that song. I'm a fan of the band do not get me wrong! I like how they tried new stuff in this new album. Every band has to change there sound eventually so they do not get boring. But i find their new music goes together really well with their old music at the live shows.

Big fan LP, however I noticed with each album it takes me a little longer to get used to their new style. I do miss their old style, but I understand that you gotta change up a bit to be current and relevant in order to stand out and not sound like everyone else while everyone is trying to sound like LP. A true test to the phrase: "If it's not broke, don't fix it."
I blew the album off the first time I heard it. Now, I can't stop listening to wretches and kings, go fig.

fuck jim farber. he is a music editor who has narrow knowledge in music field. he lacks diversity. he gave Linkin park's A TOUSAND SUN (ATS) 1/10 cause he thinks the album has many song which are just fragment. he is editor who judge album by the length of song. LMAO. ATS is concept album. every song is related to another song. ATS needs to be judge has a single chapter. the words are powerful, the vocal are impressive only thing that ATS lack is band's originality. Rest is just beautiful.

i just got done listening to A Thousand Suns and it was okay i guess (it wasn't bad). The big problem I had with this Album is that it had no replay value. There were no songs that stood out in my opinion (even with all that synthesizer crap).

I understand craving that nu-metal/ hip-hop linkin park that got most of us into this band, and I can even understand how most people enjoy their old stuff better, but I just can't understand how a lot of people wouldn't like this album at all.
I mean yeah, at first it was different and unique, but this album definitely grew on me as I listened to it more and more.

Their hypocrites, they said a while back that they hate nu-metal, when it was nu-metal that made them who they were. that was like a bitchslap to their previous fans while selling themselves for mtv airplay and being on tween girl's "really deep rock bands". Nu-metal was never deep, so I doubt this shit is deep either. They were better at guitar riffing songs like 'with you' or 'faint'.

it wasn't till around 08 that they were intolerable, bitching about everything, treating fans in showss like shit. I was at a show in '07 before their MTM album, they finished with "One step closer" and everyone was cheering for an encore, but all they did was have faces that meant fuck this and ignored a very big crowd. I thought bands lived for the fan cheers.
