I went to these shows! we stayed at stone mt. campgrnd...loaded w/ heads. I had upside down skeletons (shirts) for april fools. I made $600 on4/1/94. my buddy had free tix for all three as he worked in n'orleans atta restaurant jerry loved, so his boss set us up. Incredible time. missed 2 flights home but met a lighting guy in the airport bar&was able to hook up my gal for the miami shows that followed. Capital F fun times!! Thanks for these..........just gotta po'boy 'round xo jed
This was so a great show. Jerry seemed a bit tired though. My sister got her first miracle at this show. Two guys told me if I dressed in all black they would take me to a back door and I could get in free and usher. Dunno why I believed them, I guess I'd do anything to get in huh? So I ran to my car and other family on the lot and collected black clothes, put them on and ran back and they laughed and gave me a miracle!! Then I had to run back to get my skirt on and run back to the Omni!
hit further in philly july 10th show, the HERE COMES SUNSHINE was like this version, and it was rockn! remember rockn version u.s. air arena in landover,md in 1993 ish. this is a cool version, thanx jerry n brennand!
I saw them bust this out for the first time in over 10+ years in Arizona. Followed them from a Blizzard in Co. to a vicious rain storm in Az. Day of the show clouds parted, sun shone brightly, and they played this. Great times...
Back to the country movement (1969- 1974, or so)...remember it well...typical song from that day,...... the day....lived on a sheep farm ..got stoned and listened to wake
This show really was one of the high points of the post Brent era, imo. The solo in this tune is one to play for the folks who just don't get Jerry. It could be perceived as sloppy for the first portion, then you get the little reminder that he's absolutely on top of things. I never knew there was video of this, thanks for sharing.
I was there. Hell of a fun time. I thought this show was pretty good. I guess it all depends on how critical you are. I tried to get as much of Jerry as I could before he died, trying not to be too critical of his "bad" nights. We all saw him struggling on occasion with his drug habits.
he moved accross stage to be near him and the dead took to the next level with him...Jerry was brought the hell back to life via brent...rip Brent and Vince...I got no beef with vince ...but stick with the tubes dude
garcia also said ...and i qoute 'we made a mistake moving so fast we didn't realize how big brents shoes were" ....Vince had to have bummed Jerry out to the max that freaking cheezy little casio shit....his robotic vibe.....Brent was the Smokin hot shit Snake oil that jerry drank of deeply...
I'll be the first to admit that I enjoyed Brent's style more than Vince's, but I find it interesting that so many DeadHeads are critical of Vince, as if he were a no talent hack.. If Vince is so bad, the rest of the band must have no musical ear whatsoever. Don't forget that Jerry and the rest of the band actually SELECTED Vince! You might not like his style, but the guy still had chops!
I'm a Jerry head and i have to say I've recently delved into '94 '95 shows. Jerry's voice got progressively better and better in his last few years. just listen and compare. Amazing. i so wish he could've stuck around. miss you man
@slipyourhips My last show was Giants stadium in 95, and yeah his voice was so sweet. He really didn't play anything all night, just kinda wandered his area and stepped on pedals except during Stella Blue. He played a beautiful solo, but they'd given up by then and just turned him down almost completely in the mix.
@slipyourhips ME TOO. I like his voice in 93, 94, 95. (maybe less coke?) seriously... he was on H yes, but his voice is not as growly as 83, 84, 85 - and it has a sweetness to it. Often just as if not much more moving in the ballads - SOTM, So Many Roads, Days Between- I put those up to anything he ever did. imho. rip jg
I worked for a TV station in Atlanta back then. We were allowed to shoot the first two songs of most concerts for news purposes. This is the raw footage from those shows.
Wow, after the rains in Nassau we were treated to the Sunshine in Atlanta. Jerry's searing solo was just a taste of what was to come that night. Have to give up to Candace, her work speaks for it's self, she was amazing.
i wish i was thier in theory or some thing like that let go let jerry was there and yes I am bragging too peace&love brother&sisters no my Love will not fade away
Thank you Brenard,,,I was here and it reminds me how great things once were. You were there...it was awesome, wasn't it.
Does anyone remember the "balloon monster" before the show? About 100 balloons tied together, it looked like it crawled across the crowd because everyone was pulling on it, and pushing on it? I thought that was so cool
I was at every omni show they did from 87-95!! This was the first sun i had heard them do. I had floor seats by the tappers section, but my wife and i ended up sitting behind the stage in the fattie section. Aside from this show, the 87 show, and the shows with Bruce there are the ones that stick in my mind most. I miss the omni.
I agree w/ 1thinsoul2 the Omni shows by many Deadheads were always under rated. I saw them all from 89-94 and the 94 & 90 shows stick out the best!! Oh to relive those days again :-(
miss jerry! hit furthur july 23rd,they were on n sounded good. so glad bob n phill n fellow deadheads keep vibe rockn.

Saw a bumper sticker awhile back on an old vee dub van, kind of summed it up: "We miss you, Jerry."

@seamones That's how the song goes.....there's a break from the guitar solo w/ keys for a few measures, then back to the guitar solo....
