What I like to do is zoom in, and then draw around it that way...

I believe you can also multi select with the magic wand tool (Shift + Click)

Instead of just clicking, when you have the Gradient Tool selected, click and drag in the direction you want. (:

ive managed that, but it dosent turn it from top to bottom the closest i can get is getting it from the top left corner, diagonally to the bottom right corner, any other tips?

thank you for doing this i love this its brilliant well done for using fireworks photo shop is getting to up its self with people making aliens with puppy coming out there eyes but fireworks is for good old grpahics not stupid stuff so thank you.
