  • A cabover and a Jake...does it get any better? : ) Gotta love it!

  • Obviously you love your Jake Brake, so tell Jacobs how much and win a racing weekend in Vegas! Just enter "Jacobs Tip to Vegas" in Facebook and tell your Jake Brake Story

  • love erfs never been a better truck especially the sound of that engine my uncle drives a 6 wheel cattle truck i think its a ec10 not sure

  • Nice! I used to drive an 8x4 Foden 4400 artic with a 14 litre Cummins engine and Jake brake - sounds just like this! I used to do some continental work in a Seddy Strato with 380 Cummins and it only gave me trouble once in 3 years - jammed starter motor in Holland! (Fixed in 2 mins!) The 58 plate Volvo 440 I drove was nothing but trouble - adblue probs, electronics and God knows what else! Got a 500 FH now - time will tell! Lol!

  • Thats funny, an idiot buzzer for the turn signals.

  • The sound of the traditional Maltese Cummins. :)

  • ERF - The Truck to Drive. This coming from an American.

  • Awesome! used to go out with my uncle in one of these old bangors. Great fun.

  • erf yuk shit.e old mans truck love my "VOLVO FH 16" it will beat the shit out of any old yuk erf

  • @transitcoffin twat bet you drive a Layland and your FH 16 is a womans truck

  • crap motor and they had to put that bleep bleep indicators noise for the divs that brought these piles of shit..

  • ERF CUMMINS is the dog bollocks beautiful sound

    music to my ears

  • All the time, don't need to "DD" clutch but old habits die hard!

  • How often do you use the Jake brake instead of the brakes. And do you need to double dee-clutch when shifting gears (full and half).

  • #^$^%@

  • Eaton twin splitter...Once mastered your well and trully 'King of the Road'...what a joy to drive!!!

  • nissan diesel v12 850 hp fuck every thing

  • annoying indicaor sound but it's a bloody nice sound in that lorry i tell ya that

  • great trucks of the 90s

i had a one at the tdg at newton aycillffe a e10 320 with a twin eaton

still remember the reg no f462ppp

kids today dont no gear boxes

  • I used to own a strato 14 lit 400 hp cummins, had the stack but alas no jake brake, the sound of which made me go weak at the knees!!!! ee lad that were tut days

  • he'd have been aright whit the old skammal sinkro

  • What is the maximum age limit to drive that thing? Another member stated that there are some trucking companies that are forcing older people to retire. Either the people over 50 are being forced to retire or being laid off for as long as the company wishes. In the U.S., age discrimination is illegal, and there are lots of people who have driven these machines for many, many years.

  • What a fantastic noise, I could listen to that all day hehe. Great video.

  • I used to drive those when they new back in early 90's. also nothing worse trying hold a conversation and forgeting what fookin gear you need next eh lol ! Is it an L10 cummins or N14?

  • @formidable38 M11

  • @eightlegger What do you use cb radio ???

  • Sound better with out chatter in background

  • i want that noise for the ring tone on my phone

  • a cool 1

  • what kind of truck are you driving?

  • @hardtrucks1 ERF.

  • sounds awesome!

  • Sweet comealong sound

  • what the hell kind of an engine is that, it has a nice sound

  • @12v71jimmy It's a Cummins M11!

  • On the firm my Dad worked for years ago (I think I was only 6) he used it on his Volvo FH12 and I asked him what it was and for the next year he had it he said it was a Machine gun, It was only when he got a DAF 75 that he told me.

  • sounds very good..

  • my dad can drive a splitter box lol he says a good truck driver can use a splitter box so i think tht means our a good driver nice vid 10/10

  • I still dont understand the truck gear change system does the drivers skip some gears?

and whats the high and low gear

  • @Kristjan597,

This is a RoadRanger transmission - the lever at the front is the range-change lever! The high/low splitter knob is on the other side of the gear lever beside the driver's knee.... what that does is splits every gear in High range as this is a 13 speed! You don't need to split the 5 gears in Low range - split only the top 4! Hope this helps,

    Joe

  • @huppypuppy thanks:) cant wait to get my truck driving licence

  • Beautiful Sound Man

  • I wish in America should be a signs like this so corectly and clean Roads to.

  • @TheAriRezaku I know! The signs in the U.S. are terrible!

  • This may sound like a bit of a dumb question, but does the Jakebrake have a button to turn it on and off or does it just come on when you let off on the throttle ?

  • This one has a floor mounted, foot operated push button.

  • Ah makes sense now, couldn't understand why it just came on =)

  • @ulster2003 Most old trucks have a floor mounted Jakebrake switch

  • The M11s are good engines! one of the best back in the day....which would have been early '90s, they really dug their heels in on the hills, pulled down to 1000 rpm no bother

  • All racket no torque, L10 or M11 see an hill and then we need a twin splitter

  • L10's sound like hair dryers!

  • l10 sounds WAY better than anyother pure non computerised POWER

  • well i quite like the fact that they sound different than any other diesel engine ive heard, they pull well too .

  • @slipknot515666 check out my video of a real l10 cummins! first gen m11 were over encumbered with problems

  • cool

  • Would have been better with a twin splitter.Proper mans gearbox.

  • nice V8 sound

  • its a 6 cylinder

  • sounds awesome!!

  • that actually sounds exactly like my Mack. Isnt that weird check one of mine out from the in cab view

  • Custom made, six inch straight through and minimal silencing.

  • hi mate is that a wassey upright stack you had on that i had one one a scania awsome sound

  • love the sound of an ERF

  • sounds great man.

  • so basic looking and to square design(if tht makes sence) for me its gotta be the scania or volvo on a 4 wheeler

  • yeh i know there crap good enguins in them though

  • It depends on the type of gearbox fitted, on this waggon, it has a Eaton RTSO 16 speed syncro in, then yes, you have to dip the clutch to make the spliter work. On non syncro boxes ie fuller road ranger and twinspliter boxes no clutch is used just a quick back off the throttle.

  • guess its a tipper

  • I Need To Ask A Question.. Do You Have To Use The Clutch To Shift The Splitter.? On Tractors You Don't Which I Drive, But Are Lorries Splits Any Different?

    Cheers

  • The g'box is an RTSO 16 speed synco.

  • As said it's an EC11 with the ZF Eaton 4over 4 16 speed range & split (not twin). Used to drive an Olympic cab, lovely motor. HATE Scannies, tinny over rated plastic junk. Drive an FH Globby CD spec now. Only a 420 but it does the job. Always liked the Vollies.

  • Isn't that the Fuller Roadranger gear box not the eaton twin splitter? I say that because the splitter looks up and and down as opposed to the the side split of the old Eaton. Fuller was a rubbish gearbox my company had one on heavy haulage in an 14 litre E series ERF as Eaton wouldn't guarantee it when pulling over a certain weight.

  • Thats wicked wat motor in it?

  • ERF EC11 With Cummins M11 And Eaton 16 Speeder

  • beast

  • proper truck is a ERF, scannies for fannies

  • what a sound.. must be an eminox pipe

  • Comment removed

  • Great sound

  • Is that Graham P driving Iains motor ??

  • pumbaa19 should ease up before he destroys his balls...

  • Although Scania Is By Far The Best IN MY EYES, This ERF Is Nice, I Love The Shifty Gears..

  • what a f**kin beast!

  • There Is So Much Passion Behind Scania V8's They Will Never Die Out.. And.. People Aren't Interested In Merc. and MAN V8's.. You Don't See Mercedes V8 Truckers Covering There Cabs and Windows With V8 Stickers.. Maybe There Ashamed Of Them..?

All I Can Say Is Truckers Of Every Race and Nationality Are Pround To Drive a Scania V8.. \8/ Forever..

  • nah mate i would have to disagree with that one mate every race and nationality are proud to drive a KENWORTH

  • The UK Don't Big Up The American Brands For Some Reason.. :S

  • They cover the things in stickers cos they are posers. A Topliner is the truck eqivilent of a vauxhall corsa with a body kit. A shit machine made to look "cool". When a wagon comes flying past at 70mph lit up like a christmas tree, you know its a scania running BENT. If they slowed down a bit you,d proberly hear the " BOOM BOOM BOOM" of the latest dance choons blaring out. All flash no cash, giv a kid a scania & he,ll work for peanuts. I had 3 of the things & dont rate them at all.

  • I Like These ERF's Especially When They Are Eminox'd.. But Seeing A ''Tuned'' Scanny V8-580 Lit Up Like A Christmas Tree With A Straight Pipe Is Great.. And They Are King Of The Road With 40 Years Of V8 Experience They Can't Be Far Wrong.. But Everyone Has There Favourite Truck And Mines Scanny V8.

  • Cummins M11 straight six.

  • V8 ?

  • Because They Are One Of The Only Truck Brands That Still Produce V8 Engines To This Day.. That Legendery V8 Engine Of a Scanny Will Never Die Out...

  • the 3408 v8 catterpillar will fucking own a scania and dont say it wont 18 liters of joy the e9 will spank its ass too!

  • Who Care About American Shit.. There Just Big Slab Sided Piles Of Dung.. Even This Rather Nice ERF Has More Styling Than America Itself....

  • fuck you Peterbilt and a Kenworth have more balls than a peice of shit scania

  • hahaha dude ill let you keep your breadboxes on wheels at least we drive REAL trucks!

  • Comment removed

  • well unprofesional or not give me a peterbilt over anything

  • unprofessional is that y i see more american trucks in europe than i see euro rigs in america weait ive NEVER seen a euro truck in america hahah unprofessional gimME A BREAK

  • What about WHITE ? nomore than a volvo FH with a big nose, Frieghtliner (MB) Euro trucks have never really been marketed in the US,Yank truckers know what they like & like what they know, pretty much a closed market. Yank wagons over here are used by specialist hauliers or posers. Converting a yank wagon to EU regs is a fooking nightmare. Ive driven both in the EU & Australia & its all horses for courses. Yanks are good for straightline hauling but shite in citys EU wagons win hands down there.

  • yea i agree id want a euro for city but over the road scanias just dnt compete with american rigs

  • Yank wagons win hands down on living space & ride (especially a conventional). Power wise theres not much in it. All EU trucks are (SUPPOSED) to be limited to 85kmh.The top power motors unlimited will keep up with the best of em. Power means jack shit here now tho. My 480hp gets up a hill on the limiter at 44T just as quick as a scanny 580. .. Note to boss... I WANT MY FUCKING ERF BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hmm wonder whats powering tht truck a american cummins we dress our trucks too those scanias ARE UGLE only the t580 would be what i drive

  • Yank trucks are shit to drive crap cabs i have driven them thought i had jumped back in time when i first had a go

  • Comment removed

  • no a cummins kta-19 19 liter 900hp with a 20speed eaton wil outpull damn near anything

  • ya ur a retarad volvo has the most powerful and dafs are the best cos they are made by paccar which make peterbilts and kenworths 2 so reli ur a dumb shit

  • sounds great mate, erfs and fodens rule weve just got a fm volvo 8wheeler, what a pile of shite would sooner have my c12 450 cat 8wheeler any day

  • Comment removed

  • Sound tuffaz, love tha shit!!!!

  • m8 my wna tell ya drivin m8s this but if ya use ya engine brake to much it naks the heads it happend to medad and the tippers and loggers al the time they hav to change the hes very like 6 months ot summit

  • i bet you run up and down a14 all day with a name like that any twat could do that i bet you drive a scania or a volvo aswell you sad fuck

  • Not Trying To Start An Arguement But Scania's Are Swedish Perfection.. :/

  • Who`s reading your wife a bedtime story,

while you`re "up the road all week", earning shite money ?.

I bet she`s glad to see the back of you !

  • Lovely sound from what sounds like an Eminox stack exhaust!

  • oscarfish38, Youre the man !!!!!

  • Well said Sir; there's not many of us flag wavers left!

  • I had an EC14 with "the mans" gearbox (eaton twin) only? 410 horses but it used to cream all the scandinavian pretty boys on the trunk from Kent to stoke every night. People who slag em have never driven one, Best truck ever. 100 times better than the poxy FH480 wanky auto box heap of Elk shite I got now. The EC range were the LAST of proper Brit wagons :(((

  • ERF best lorry ever made in the UNIVERSE

  • My uncle used to drive one of these in New zealand years ago an 8x4 with quad axle trailer carting stock.amazing truck and still going sumwhere in new zealand

    nice video

  • sounds the bollocks m8

  • ERF FOREVER !

i need to know one thing,if scainias are great, why has to broken down on the road beside our house?,and my dads ERF's that he's had havent ever broken down... ?

  • Great sound

  • mathewrichard, 10, is that your age ?

  • ha ha ha how funny are you? you cock!

  • thats your opinion, fair enough if u dont like erfs thats up 2 you. but erfs are certently not crap trucks! ther what a lorry should be......good strong and most of all RELIABLE! stick to your volvos mate, the cab will rot away long before this motor goes in2 retirment!

  • look at you all pulling your tails over this crap truck give me an old 143 v8 scania or a volvo f16 globe trotter any day over this shit thing

  • "Volvo F16 Globetrotter or Scania 143,"

very capable vehicles I`m sure, but I don`t think I have ever seen either in 8x4 tipper form (in this country anyway).

Are you speaking from experience, or out of ignorance ?

  • I'm With You!

  • good old ERF, i own a foden and the ERF's and Fodens are the best. I see u got the old buzzer on the indicators, I use 2 drive a 8 wheel leyland daf 340 ATI tipper with a buzzer on the indicator. They had to put a new valve on handbrake and after that the handbrake was as loud as a leyland constructor's handbrake. cant beat the old trucks.

  • matthewrichard10 is an asshole...

wish you could put up more pics of your truck. i dunno how many times i've seen this vid just to hear that m11 growling.

  • prick

  • ERF trucks are shit cheap and nasty

  • never even drove one did you? ERF trucks are the best

  • Yeahh! True!

  • i used to drive an eightlegger ec10 bulk blower and i loved the gearbox as long as i did'nt think about it, if i did i'd make cock ups, thanks.

  • i find that box hard work, specialy in traffic and islands ect. ect.

  • That sounds amazing!

Nice to see old British kit still working hard. I will miss that Cummins sound when they have all gone.

(Yes I know, but they were in lots of British lorries.)

Any Rolls Royce Eagles still working?

  • sounds absolutley lovley! wud hear u coming from 2 miles away! shame it isnt a twinspliter tho

  • wow theres one hell of a truck gotta get some more vids man

  • Exhaust stack is a custom made 6" all stainless, straight through; it dose have some silencing though....but not much!

  • sounds great, has it got an eminox stack? I don't remember my standard EC11 sounding quite that rorty

  • what motor??

  • ERF EC11 8x4;Cummins M11 engine with Jake brake fitted.

  • The gearbox is the standard fitment Eaton 16 speed syncro'.
