Because you just need the salt .. that soaked into radish..but not the ones outside of radish.. which means.. if you rinse the radish.. you get right amount of saltness from the radish..
be honestly i like your video more than mangchi :D i don't know why but i just have more love in your side kekek ^o^ and your is more specific and easy to do :X
Please see the food that I posted but she didn't post yet.. unless I invent new food.. how the food can be different..because she is posting Korean food and I'm doing the same thing. I pick the food by requests i got from people.. I hope you can understand that. thanks
I think that person was just trolling. Love your way and Maangchi's way. You guys are doing awesome buy spreading love of Korean cooking. Hopefully this will encourage more Korean restaurants to pop up around the country. :)
@maplestoryfan818 the food might be the same but people always put a little different ingredients into the meals! i know my mom makes different bulgogi than other people. it is mom's style but it is always good to see what other people are using! it gives me a variety and i can pick the best taste for myself! Thanks aeri!
i love this dish with Bossam :) sometimes when i go to to korean resturant and they serve kimchi with bossam im like T^T i love kimchi but i highly recomend try this dish with bossam and it cuts through the slight oilyness and gelatinous of the boild pork belly and yeah YUMMMY
@aeriskitchen Well, it smells pretty bad :) Btw. how long can you store this radish side-dish in the fridge? Like 2 weeks? Because it's prepared almost like Kimchi which you can store about a month, am I right?
I have a good quantity of this in my fridge, however it was prepared probably months ago. It still looks good and does not smell so would you say it is safe to eat or would you suggest I prepare this banchan fresh every time?
what normal radish do you mean.. ?? the small ball shape red skin radish ?? if it's that.. i don't think it will work.. if it's Japanese radish.. diakon.. it will work.. thanks
Yes, I don't like mixing it without gloves..because it gives smell to my hands.. just I didn't want to make noise for the video from the gloves when I cook... ^^
even tho its quite simple flavors, this is one of my favorite ban chans! aeri, where did you learn to cook all these foods? i love to cook but i dont cook much korean food (yes i am korean ^^) its so hard to find good recipes, but i im lucky i found u! :)
I'm also not that great.. just after got married..I had to cook since my mom can't cook for me Korean food anymore.. lol.. so I'm learning too.. Just I try different recipes from internet and make my own recipes.. some food.. learned from my mom.. thanks !!! happy to meet you tooo
Yes, it's similar..but the shape and taste is slightly different. I think that Japanese radish is thinner than Korean radish. Korean radish has a little stronger flavor than Japanese one. But since it's almost similar, you can use Japanese radish for this recipe also. Thank you !!
I was wondering, I can't take the spicy, so instead of putting chili in, is there something else I can replace that with, or without that, does it taste weird
Oh ~~ I can understand you !! hm.. actually we have another dish with radish.. it's more like pickle.. so it will be sweet and a little sour..but not spicy at all.. so you might like that !! I will try to post it also someday..thanks !!!
ah! the pickle one you mentioned in this comment is the one ive been wondering for a long time.. but had no idea what it was :3 i ate it once at a small korean place, but they never made it again T^T
We use roasted sesame seeds for Korean cooking.. if you have plain sesame seeds.. you can roast it by yourself.. just fry without any oil...just that sesame seeds on medium heat.. until it become light golden brown.. keep stir them.. thanks !!
Haha, if it's orange, you know it's Korean food. This looks really good but since I haven't really eaten Korean food before I'm kind of wondering about the ridiculous amounts of red chili powder used in most of these recipes. Is it some kind of milder chili or is it real pure chili like the one used in Indian cooking? Anything more than a tablespoon in an Indian curry for example would be almost uneatable for most people. Do Koreans walk around with chili burns around their mouths or what? :D
oh, my channel must give you an image of Korean food that it's spicy something like that, actually we eat many kinds of spicy food but there are also no spicy food in our food. I don't know much about chilly in indian cooking, so I can't compare, yes..it's pure chilly powder..since many other country people love spicy Korean food, that proves it's eatable not only for Korean people but others ..hehe
continue.. how about you? Do you eat spicy food? since you haven't try Korean food before, I hope you can try some Korean food someday and can find some you like. :D Thanks for comment.. happy new year !!
I like spicy food, especially Indian. But there's a difference in spicy and SUPER HOT. If food is too hot it takes away the pleasure in eating. If it hurts, I'm not eating it, you know? :P
I've bought cooking ingredients like soy and sesame oil and plan to start trying some Korean dishes very soon. Just need some chili paste and other specialist Korean stuff. I want to expand my food repertoire, going to try Korean/Japanese food first, since I love those two countries. Happy new year to you too!
Wow Aeri, this one looked so deliciou as well. It looks simple enough to make even for me so I shall try one day and let you know how it turned out. I liked how it was all white in contrast in the beginning then as you proceeded, it turned out all red. Haha, that was some serious change of color and it looked really good. Thanks again for your hard work to put up these videos for us to enjoy. We all owe you a lot :) Cheers!!!
How are you ?? hehe..the magic ingredient is as you know.. RED PEPPER POWDER ...ya ~~~~ thanks for comment !! Are you ready for Christmas ?? :D Have a good weekend !!!
Well, as for Xmas, money is kind of tight now since I'm going back to college now, but instead of buying gifts for friends this year I've decided to send a card with some money to someone named "Dong Yun Yoon". I think he will need lots of support from many people for something tragic that has happend to him. I heard about his great loss on the news and it left me in tears. Please pray for him as well. I hope you have a very Merry Xmas and a prosperous and safe new year to come. Cheers!
wow.. that's very sweet. I've watched his interview on youtube. Sometimes we can't understand or explain why bad things happen to good people.. since we are all God's children...but I really believe.. there is always God's will, plan or some reasons that we just can't see and understand well. I hope he and his family can get big comfort from God in this hard time. How amazing our life is.. we can breath every single moments without problem. thanks I will pray for him also.
Hi! I just happened to have all the ingredients so I made it right after watching your video. I ended up with a little too much sauce because my radish was pretty small but it's still yummy! Thanks alot! I will definitely make it again.
I love your videos, but i must say i enjoyed your first videos where you told us what to do with your voice. I have hard time reading subtitles and just like to enjoy listening and watching. And you do it so well. :D
Thank you very much for your good advice. I'm learning English, so I can't speak English naturally while I'm cooking. It will be really great, if I can..because then it will be easier to make a video..hehe..anyway.. so I write down sentences and record the voice part with them. (My husband check my sentences for me) I worried, if other people have problem to understand my speaking. But I also know it's difficult to read subtitles. Yes, I will try to make videos with voices. :)
Hi aeris :D i think your voice and your english is GREAT!!! i understand soooo easily and i love your accent. I actually like the voice record rather than the talking while you actual cook. It seems to proffessional. hehe. Either way your videos are AWESOME :D
I was thinking to make a video for it ...then my recipe is..kind of too complex ...ㅜ.ㅜ My subscribers will hate me because of if,,,hehe,,,joke If you want, I will make it someday..thanks..

Yes, it's similar..but the shape and taste is slightly different. I think that Japanese radish is thinner than Korean radish. Korean radish has a little stronger flavor than Japanese one. But since it's almost similar, you can use Japanese radish for this recipe also. Thank you !!
