Interestingly enough I've never had an octopus ink me while out of the water...however, I have noted that almost every time they are back in the water and "sprint" away they do ink!!! Curious that they save their ink for the most appropriate time to do so...when they're "able" to locomote themselves away from danger and leave the cloud of ink!

Wow so creepy and gross ... and fascinating. How could it have figured out how to unscrew something? That's not something they would encounter naturally. It must have been a challenging environment for it learning how to move in a 2D like area compared the ocean.

krakens are supposed to be more like squid than octopi. they have eight arms and two tentacles like squid, and octopi only have eight arms with no tentacles. so obviously the kraken was based off the idea of the collosal (spelling?) squid.

I was mugged by one of those critters off the Gulf of Mexico while diving. I felt violated because it felt me up and down and even tried removing some of my dive equipment. Clever little buggers. I was looking for Hammerheads but instead was felt up by an octopus, I'd say that was a good day. Thank you for letting him go home by the way :)
