  • I. Must. Get. This.

  • FOLK METAL <3

  • Hello metalheads.

Instead of a Metal rebellion i propose a new plan.

    1. Don't bash other metal artists, we must unite! We cant fight against pop music if we arent even together

    2. Watch more and more metal videos to get it to the top of the youtube vid list

If you like this idea, thumbs it up JUST so people can see it, and spread it around if you like this idea by copying this text into other metal videos.

Lets show that metal kicks ass!

  • @drefnoxa It was good untill "thumbs this up". Fuck you hate people the ruin a good comment by saying that. Even if you wanted it to be thumbs up for got reason still stfu never say it and it might get a thumbs up.

  • @SirGreenGrim thumb this up good sir

  • @taterman02 - You have been thumbed up, my good peer. XD

  • @SirGreenGrim

i bet you expected some thumbs up from that lolol

  • After i translated the chant, i found that it has a very powerful meaning.

  • @gundamorion what is the meaning? I can't find the translated lyrics anywhere :(

  • @Untrostlich Eluveitie didnt post the translation so neither would i, but it is out there... even on google. :)

  • @gundamorion lol totally understandable..thanks! :)

  • now what religion is this?

    wait, im confused.

people were arguing over religion and now idk.

  • @ribbit4naruto

This is not a religion, it's a culture, the celtics..

  • @GrimzClipz The celts. Not celtics.

  • pagan music?

    literally practicing in paganism?

or is it a mere genre of music?

  • @ribbit4naruto Its called Pagan Metal, its Druidic music that sings of mythological Gaulish gods and such.

  • ah, I see.

I'm Christian, but this music is fantastic.

    I guess it shouldn't matter.

Music is music, and it only effects you if you let it. :)

  • @ribbit4naruto I agree. I believe in pure religious tolerance, you still read Mythology right? Its just an interest in folklore, I dont worship the druidic gods xD

  • Ha, same here. x)

  • @AwsomeKwatchy - What's the difference? (A genuine question. lol)

Now that you bring them side by side, I can't help but wonder.

  • @YourDarkAccomplice The difference between what lol, I have posted multiple comments on here.

  • Pretty sure this video wasn't created to introduce a religious debate either. But you know, these mistakes occur.

  • religous debates arn't a mistake.... they are a fucking internet inevitable

  • Pretty certain you spelt that wrong buddy. Now go listen to some music and have fun.

  • why the fuck did u guys bring up religious bull shit..

  • did u read it?

  • does anyone know the english lyrics to this song?? i can't find them anywhere.

  • does anyone have the translated lyrics of this song? i have a hard time translatin gaul :P my favorite song on spirit

  • Why would you say that about a book that has been re-written by the people in power and changed and translated and full of false stories? Clearly it's true that's why I've been smitten so many times. :)

  • Truuuueee!

  • True that!

  • not shit but misinterpretation!

  • what! are you a hater buddy? why don't you ask your friend SATAN to fu*% you very hard! So you can change your actitude, you bastard!

  • I wouldn't say it is.

Even if it isn't completely perfect, it still makes for an interesting philosophical text and can teach us many things.

  • its not gaelic lol its gaulish

  • Lol gaulish. Rome literally owned gaul.

  • And then thanks to Christianity Rome was conquered by barbarians. Stupid religion.

  • Christianity had nothing to do with the fall of rome. It was the mini ice age that caused invasion and over migration. it wouldve fell alot sooner if it wasnt for christianity.

  • You should probably go read a history book before responding, you are wrong thanks. Christianity had everything to do with Rome's fall, and the splitting of it's people. It's why Romanians are the closest genetic link to true Romans currently. Thanks though for trying to say that a religion saved anything :)

  • Do you think that if christianity didnt exist the unites states would be anything close to what it is today? our constitution and our freedoms come staight out of the bible and our freedoms are what makes the U.S. the most powerful country on earth. infact it is athiesm that is ruining the world today. when people dont belive in any morals then they make them for themselves and then you get More crime because nobody belives in god or morals. Nobody is willing to do the right thing without it.

  • Odd, I deal with a TON of criminals (around 1000 a year) and the vast majority of them believe in God. Also, I didn't say anything about belief in God, I said religion, you know, like the reason more people have died then any other cause. Our freedoms are straight out of the bible? Odd since we're allowed to do far more than we would be if that were true. I have a very strict code of morals and ethics with no exterior reason to have them, but I don't break them.

  • read your constitution. ammendmant one freedom of speech is straight from the bible. all men are created equal the reason that we dont have slaves anymore is strictly because of christianity. and there would be 5000 criminals if nobody belived in morals. and what do you mean by religion? belief in god is the 100% exact same thing as religion. if you belive in god then you are religous. There are the 3 monotheistic religions, judaism christianity and islam and then there are polytheistic ones.

  • 1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

    2. the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices: a world council of religions.

And FYI, you forgot about Agnostics. Go read a book.

  • Ya even agnostics belive in some kind of god or force they just dont know what. religion is a belief but it is almost always a belief in a god or supernatural force.

  • Odd, because I'm Agnostic and you are wrong again on a definition.

    1. a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience.

    2. a person who denies or doubts the possibility of ultimate knowledge in some area of study.

Religion requires a more than just a belief in a God or supernatural force. People can believe in those without being religious.

  • Lol even Atheism is a religion. But its a religion without religion.

  • Hah, I was going to say I've always categorized Atheism as being without religion...so technically it isn't a religion? Eh, that's what I always say.

  • Its the religion that is without religion lol

  • Really? So agnostics can believe in God, just not have a bunch of rules and crap that are really stupid? I always thought they were just unsure...hmm...interesting.

  • the rules in the bible are only rules that help you become a better person. Your life is shaped by your habits. If you belive in doing good deeds than you will certainly prosper.

  • shut the fuck up and listen to the song. please? xD

  • I seem to remember the commandment that stated "Thou shall be free to speak." strange... You claim the Constitution was made out of Christianity, but that we NO LONGER have slaves because of it as well? Well we did in the first place, so did Rome.

  • We had slaves in the first place because People in the renaissance age didnt understand human rights in the bible. And because they really didnt want to get rid of them because they were a huge part of the economy. And most people back then were illeterate too.

  • there were slaves before the renaissance... and there were slaves after the renaissance

  • Actually the Bible(new testament too!) condones slavery... you really ought to read it sometime.

  • It says all men are created equal wich means nobody is a slave and we are all Born equally. Which means the bible is strictly against slavery.

  • Well the ancinet hebrews certainly had slaves. Maybe they convinced themslevs that men could still be equal yet still ahve to serve another. BTW Where exactly does it say that all men are equal? I don;t think it actually says that.

  • And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;-Acts 17:26. Equality is a biblical princible that is also in the declaration of independance, the gettysburg adress, and the constitution. And in ancient times everybody had slaves but the hebrew slaves were actually treated very well.

  • So you're admitting slavery is in fact condoned by the bible? And how do you know that the Hebrew slaves were treated any better? You're just making that up. You don't have any evidence to support that claim.

  • "When you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve six years: in the seventh year he shall be freed, without payment."-Exodus 21:2 Yes i do have proof they were treated better. Hebrew slaves wernt really slaves more like indentured servants. They only served for several years before being freed again.

  • now thats is a evidence mate!

  • I agree, there are certain principles that humans adhere to for self preservation if nothing else.

Religions have stolen and taken credit for these basic beliefs for their own benefit.

  • @g1arung and mankind i suppos

  • It made rome a great empire just as it makes the U.S. the greatest nation in the world today.

  • Once again read a history book, Rome's down turn came at the hands of Christianity. They were stronger prior to Christianity, and they were still religious, just better. It's simple fact.

  • they were better when they wernt christian....how the hell do you figure that to be a fact? well first you have to understand what a fact is. A fact is something that is and that does not change nomatter how you look at it. Rome fell because they were invaded by like 20 different peoples. just imagine that you have a million dollars and then you get mobbed by everyone. same thing happened to rome. if you can present one fact that is evidence that christianity had helped rome fall plz tell me.

  • Look at the rise of Christianity, and the fall of Rome, there are many dates people use, but how about when they had a barbarian emperor in 235 A.D. during the rise of Christianity, I'd say that's a pretty solid piece of evidence that Rome wasn't strong. Your entire point is about how Rome owned the Gauls. Also, about how Christianity allowed them to, so you are incorrect. Majority of criminals I come into contact with are religious, and America has the most.

  • Constantine was the first christian emporor. He was also one of the only emporors who wasnt a murdurer or was murdered by someone. He didnt kill infants like some of the other pagan emporors. And Rome was extremely powerful at his time. So from that factual evidence i can say that christianity helped save Rome from chaos and immorality. thereby making them stronger. and the barbarian emporer your refering to is maximus flax and He wasnt powerful. He was paranoid and lots of people wanted himdead

  • Constantine was indeed the first christian emperor, but wasn't baptized as such until well into his 40's. He finally established the christian orthodoxy in Rome in order to end the inner turmoil of his people and the violence that had arose between the christian and pagan believers.

I'm not quite sure why this is being argued on a Eluvietie song page. But either way, Eluvietie is a wonderful band.

  • But there is a difference to saying your christain and actually being one. From what I heard, Rome persecuted the christains and killed many of them. It was quite common for a Roman dinner party to have christains burning alive in the background.

It was in a dream that the emperor saw his armies marching to victory with the cross on their shields that he decided to convert Rome. That dosen't mean he and the majority of the Romans became Jesus following, do unto other christains. They abused it

  • But the true Christians was the gnostics right? or not? I am confused!

  • I do not think so. Gnosticism seems to be more of a philosophy that existed before Christ which attempted to find a sense of unity between the religions of their area. When I read about it, the belief seemed to centre on an imperfect god that created the world. It also said that humans are souls trapped in our body that desire to be free.

This does not seem to relate to the Christain faith at all seeing as God is perfect and we were placed on this world, not trapped here.

  • Mate Jesus the Christ tought gnosticism wich was the love of wisdowm. Actualy Jusus teaching ware all misinterpreted by the people, because, the romans changed its true meaning.

Yes you are right, we are not trapted here, we are here to expand our consciousness, and to discuver our true porpuse in this life!

  • I always read that the main things that Jesus taught revolved around loving God and loving your neighbour. While he did promote wisdom as something worth having and seeking out, this was a concept that had been taught since Solomen ( as seen in the book of Proverbs). One of the things that set him apart as a teacher was his primary concern with spreading his knowledge of forgivness.

How can you know if Jesus's teachings were changed? Some are translated straight from ancient Hebrew(like NIV)

  • shut up....lol

  • Here's a guy who is giving a definition of the word fact and yet turning around and spewing Bible quotes as if they were a credible source. The irony of it...

  • what language is that?

  • gaelic

  • actually its Gaulish

  • The greatest swiss metal band !,,!

  • Words can't describe how much I love this track + band.

  • same here

  • brendykriva

    Co dodat??? Krasa :)

    Eluveitie 4 EVER !!!

  • Comment removed

  • WOW Fckin greaattt,epic!!

  • krása :)

  • One of the best intros ever. All hail Eluveitie!

  • I try to get into all metal, I love most of it, but there are some bands.. like dying fetus, cannibal corpse, that I just cant get into.. when you block out the musicianship and guitar playing with guttural vocals its just too much..

  • yeah .. i feel like that too ... Eluvietie is the only band that i like considering this kinda singing ... folk metal is cool :P ... i'm really not into black, death, pagan and this kinda styles ... anyways ... ELUVIETIE RULLZ

  • oh cannible corpse is terrible! I get where your comming from, I personly like death metal and stuff like that, but I also love stuff like this.

  • wads this song abt?

  • j'adore c'est trop beau^^

    vive Eluveitie!=)

  • It's celtic

  • im sure you gonna die earlier for your acting and behaving, no im sure about it - but prolly in real life you are just a guy who do use penis as holder for your coat ...

  • Its music, fuck genre. It is pure amazing strong music whats the point of trying to give somthing so amazing a label?

  • I must disagree. For me, some metal is awesome, like Eluveitie, but once I listen to Death Metal, I just have to turn my media player off. There is a lot of metal I love, but truly there is a reason for the classification. Basically, metal can be hardcore or softcore (lol almost like sex), and I personally hate the most hardcore though I listen to almost everything. Others, conversely, prefer the hardcore over the softer metal.

  • Its the best style for me and i guess many people do like metal songs aswell and they dont know about it. Metal uses all instruments in their songs, ofc not every style, but for example Metallica do and many others and Eluveitie aswell. Can you say this about any other genre ? Disco ? Rap ? I hardly think so. Well but anyway, why do you even came here to say something like that ? I guess its just a must for you, to be a "rebel" which truly you are not and if you are, who cares then - here noone

  • what genre is this? something like medieval or viking metal right? correct me if im wrong

  • I'm not a huge metalhead or anything but I beleive it is called folk metal.

  • yup and its fucking great

  • wonderful music

  • so good, so short

  • Geil!!! Die beste Folk-Metal-Band überhaupt...kein Zweifel !! (:

  • love them x

  • That brilliant piece of work was far too short.

  • Agreed.

  • Sometimes one song can show you more then 1000000 views, tell you more then 1000000 words......

  • and this is only a small piece of Eluveitie´s great job

  • oh my fuck... i just got huge load of inspiration... this song is so kick ass!!!

  • you need inspiration? search Your Gaulish War by Eluveitie

  • that was actually the first eluveitie song i heard, the vocals in that song are out of this world

  • Gaulish War is one of my favorites! But this song is awesome too.

  • OMG *adds to favorites* This was really good... Thanks for upload.

  • perfect...
