  • He's absolutely right about a lot of things, especially the 'woodland in the square' concept. Naturalizing the city for example, Beaver Hills Park (Downtown Edmonton) = condoms, sex, drugs etc. and therefore the wrong transect zone.

  • He is GREAT !!!

  • This talk has made me understand why I love where I live so much.

  • If you live somewhere, you must see this. Duany is superb in making the obvious clear and understandable, with juxtapostional demonstration. Superb!

  • at 1:03:30 He says very skillfull architects squander their talent on one building instead of making their plans available for the different transects of the city. The idea of coding each architects many styles and drawings with a little number in a plan book...genius. Also he says the place and the time of the architecture matters and I agree. Andres Duany should be given a new title as US head architect and allowed to implement his New Urbanism ideas nationwide to corral all these planners.

  • @bobby38001 I agree - Duany is my new hero!

  • Omg 51:34

  • "architecture should be of his time or of his place?"

    falacious question, ofc is BOTH.

cant construct like XIX century OLD construction system in XXI and wont do stupid kitsh things..

XXI architecture has the best techonologies and milions possibilities that permit construct buildings that perfectly fits. Is not that all architecture of XXI century is "Hight-tech" or "ghery/zaha hadid"(deconstrutivism)...go see some Siza architecture ;)
