Violence is a product of slavery. America is still owned by the same slavers. They change the game as they need to keep control of the masses. Humanity is inherently over substance. @AmericanBadass44@ShadowGKCP 1) What percentage do you think are in prison for low-level, nonviolent offenses? What makes you think they're dangerous? 2) Do you think that everyone who gets convicted of anything at all should get a life sentence without parole? If not, how do you propose ensuring that those who get out are less likely to commit more crimes?
@thelavabrothers I'm not talking about pot smokers and petty criminals. I'm talking about murderers, sex criminals and career criminals. Not only do the tax payers not want their money wasted trying to rehabilitated those kinds of trash, but we can't afford it in this economy. The needs of upstanding citizens must come before the needs of law breakers. You left-wingers are such wusses.
Basically you choose the choices that he is going to do. 1.jump into a private lake or 2.jump off a apartment, they need subs,so they can earn money for bigger stunts. Check them out @ "YouChooseFoo" I hope they are better than YouChoose2011
to be fair the 500,000 more inmates than china stat probably isn't too fair, life time cost of food and accommodation for one inmate, they solve it with one 7.62 x 39, and in all fairness, it is a lot cheaper.
plus what's this obsession with freedom anyway, can someone explain to me what freedom means? i honestly haven't a clue.
@ThePureFocus Is it good policing or good business? I think a high prison rate would be acceptable if our streets were safer but we still have extremely high crime and murder rates in some areas. If jails were full because of good policing, shouldn't our country be more safe than it is now?
@MikolashG good policing? yes and no. The problem goes even further downwe tah road. Why do you think people do what they do that gets them in prison in the first place? What ever those reasons are is the problem with the country and not helping the needs of it's own people.
@MikolashG You're right, but I could say then they are not doing enough to deter other criminals. Which would mean they need to increase sentences for most offences. Now good made another video a while back saying how the US prosecutes small crimes more then other countries and I also don't agree with that. But that should also mean that the US is safer then if another countries laws took it's place. Higher prison rate means safer streets, unless you mean they put innocent people to jail?
Norway has one of/or the most free prison systems in the world. Prisoners actually get help to get better, and maximum time a prisoner can be put in is 21 years. Norway has the lowest crime rate in the world except small states like Monaco.
The prison system IS criminal. It's obviously criminal. There are very few people in prison who did something worse to another human being than kidnapping them and throwing them in a cage that is famous for being a place where they will be beaten and raped, a significant percentage of which are there because they carried the wrong plant.
Anyone who supports the prison system in the united states needs psychiatric help. This system is criminally insane.
Stop arresting for non-violent crimes, make marijuana laws more lenient, actually work to rehabilitate inmates instead of merely locking them up to interact with people worse than they are and expecting them to come out better.
Great video but it doesn't talk about the mandatory minimums that give a much more harsh punishment for crack than for cocaine. The US is systematically locking up poor people (and usually African Americans) and using them for labor. It's 21st century American slavery and it must be stopped.
Probably the best policy would be to repeal the war on drugs. We are locking up non-violent offenders and turning them into hardened criminals by criminalizing the possession and distribution of all drugs.
But what to do specifically regarding prisons? I really don't know. These are places full of violent criminals always on edge and looking over their shoulder. How do you solve a problem like that?
@graphattic Starters? That should be the headline.
Jail for fraud, evasion of financial responsibilities, even substance abuse isn't good enough for the same form of penalty murderers & sexual offenders share.
@Efferts Thats what I mean bro... just for starters cause even certain violent crimes, especially underanged offenders, could have different options of rehab than jail too... And even more good ideas could occur, I am not here to put a lid on them. Just setting the very bottom line here...
This is one of the only view points I agree with that the left makes, here in Holland, you go to prison, and youll have to be a total idiot to go back again.
WATCH OUT FOR THE CONTINUED PRIVATIZATION OF PRISIONS. CLEAR CONFLICT OF INTEREST. IF I GET PAID BASED ON THE NUMBER OF INMATES, WHO DOESNT GET PAID IF WE REHABILITATE?
@Zblj1987 "the most free country" also has one of the best police systems in the world. You can't honestly criticize a country for putting criminals in jail. If third world nations or countries with a larger population could catch all their criminals there would be much more then the US. But this was still a great video.
@ThePureFocus what are your criteria for that statement? in norway, where i live, there is no armed police, yet our crime rates are a fourth of america's.
@apehodet Are you saying norway is a third world country or bigger then the US? I can guarantee you, it's not. The original comment stated how sad it was that the US had the most people in jail, so I wanted to reply that it is a result of good policing because they catch the most criminals. The crime rate is irrelevant to this argument.
@ThePureFocus BEST POLICE SYSTEMS?!?! They may be more vigilant but why do you think that's so? BECAUSE THE COUNTRY NEEDS IT! Do the Scandinavian countries need an american police system? No! It's not about catching criminals at all. The USA creates criminals of which it catches.
@finnsia lol When did this become about scandinavian countries? My favourite places on earth are denmark and netherlands, and I can say they are better then the US in every way. Once again, my original point was not against this video, but about the comment by Zblj1987. The amount of people in prisons does not make a democratic country less free. You have to look at the size of the US compared to scandinavian countries and understand that they just can't help everyone like norway could.
@ThePureFocus USA might have more people but on a ratio they would still undoublty have more crime. Along with that, they also have worse health, education, less satisfied with life etc etc
see a trend now? Maybe there is a reason for all that crime after all. And you're right about the amount of prisons doesn't make a democratic country less free.
@finnsia Yeah but the US has the 3rd largest population in the world and because of that, it is much harder to educate that many, provide healthcare to that many and keep them happy. If any scandinavian was that big we would see the exact same problems. A socialist system would be so much better then a capitalist, but sadly it just cant work for the US.
Which leads to this video, I don't think the US can afford to rehabilitate people, when it can't even help people who never did anything wrong.
@finnsia lol yeah, about 543 billion dollars. Their second highest amount of spending! So funding isn't the issue, it's the fact that they just have too many people to look after. That number would actually make them have one of the biggest school systems in the world! Of course they're gonna have a hard time controlling it. PS. I'm not American, Im Canadian. I just don't like it when people argue against a system when they wouldn't do any better in their place.
@ThePureFocus What you are is irrelevant, as long as patriotism doesn't get in the way of facts. Sooner or later, I'll show you the facts and how little USA spends on it's people.
