  • Some demurrals: The WW2 'Black Sheep Squadron' had nothing to do with Kipling or the tables down at Mory's. 'The Whiffenpoof Song' is the signature song of the Whiffenpoofs, but not the theme song of Yale, which would most likely be 'Bright College Years.' And I believe it's 'damned from here to eternity.'

  • That's great, Maestro. I had the pleasure of meeting you in your professional capacity some years ago, and you were a big help and gave us your CD. I was in the Whiffenpoofs myself once, and just heard them sing at Mory's last Monday! Small world, isn't it?

  • A lovely rendition of the song. This video is both touching and quite funny. I'm very impressed with the care and talent that went into this video production.

  • I remember this song being sung on the Ed Sullivan Show back in the 1960s. It was sung by the New York City Police Homicide Division in chorus. I wish I had that clip.

  • i love this song had the orginal recording this video is great

  • The title of the WWII novel "From Here to Eternity" by James Jones is also taken from this song.

  • Probably should be archived in the Library of Congress.

  • Sang this in high school, probably like you guys. Great to hear the words again.
