@destructicon500 His tone is meant not to cut through the mix, but rather to make the rhythm section even more pounding. Tuning that low and such a role for the bassist is usual for that style.

@sirobelec47 Look. I listen to a lot of metal bands that use all sorts of tunings. I've seen Meshuggah live. The bass tone was not nearly as gross sounding as this. But I do have to say that when I did see Slipknot live, you couldn't really hear the bass at all separately from the rhythm section... so if that was indeed their goal, then they have accomplished it. But as a bassist, I think it's a bit of a shame.

@drumgd41 They don't? That's pretty shitty. I have a Paul Gray right handed 4 string, but i don't recall seeing any left handed models. Someone should email ibanez and suggest it, because your correct...he was a left handed bassist

@beaudry94 Are you talking about his signature basses? Because they do have left handed models. They're called PGB1L (I have one, seeing as how I'm left handed, haha). But if you mean the tribute models, then yeah, they should bring out left handed versions.
