  • OMG! hahahaha

I've never been candlepin bowling, but, yeah, you will never see that in tenpin. LOL

  • ive seen 5 pins replace 10 pins in 10pin, but not upsidedown

  • thats happend before in bowling

  • its happened to me! i hit an 8 it slid over and took out the 10 and stayed up in its spot before

  • The 5 doesn't flip, but a pin sliding and taking another pin's position has happened to me a few dozen times by now.

I've personally seen the 5 slide that far over.

  • fag 5 pin

  • I actually saw a piece of dead wood get hit and stand back up once in Malden, MA. It was nuts.

  • but it has happened in ten pin.

  • I understand that there were 108 comments before this one, but there's one other thing of note: The 5 pin doesn't only replace the 10, but it flips over before it does it! Sorry if someone else commented on this observation already.

  • the pin got knocked down and got sad and replaced the other

  • ive done this before on the wii thank you , so it is possible its called a domino effect if the pin hits another pin hard enough it will fall

  • @ninendowii2000 I dont think you looked at it hard enough, the pin hit the other pin and replaced it in the same place, hes not talking about the pin that fell and hit the pin down, if he were talking about that then this video would be trolled to death.

  • :24 THATTTTSSSSSSSS FOOOOOOUUUUURRRRRR TOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOO

  • Actually i've seen it done in ten pin, but it was extremely rare to see.

  • The pin was like "Hey move this is my spot!"

  • hahaha wtf?

  • Explaination -> Ninja Swap

  • Every time I watch candlepin bowling. It just bores me...

  • that was great

  • that pisses me off when that happens lol

  • evry1 stop hatin ive been candlepin bowling for 16 years i am now 18 sooooo i agree very hard game alot of bs hahaha but awesome vids wolf

  • that was a perfect shot !!! kkkkkkkk

  • tenpin is better

  • candlepin is too boring..tenpin rules...

  • i have done this in ten pin bowling multiple times where the pin actually replaces it.

  • dietrichos it doesn't matter what the score is candlepin is much harder and the ball is the size of a softball

  • Granada Bowl

  • omg!!

  • I have got to get up to that part of the country and try candlepin bowling, duckpin bowling, too.

  • so did he score a seven or an eight on this?

  • that 5 pin was like "damm, i gotta get away from this ball", so he goes to the ten pin side and goes like "fuck off ten pin, im taking your place" so he pushes him aside, and takes his place.

  • i've uprighted a pin after knockin it down before. grease on the plate, pins slide to much. tryin to get higher scores out of their lane

  • Looks like the poor man's bowling.

  • what do you want us to do now????.,.f8ck

  • Yeah, I've had a six pin slide up all the way to the head pin before. That's one of the worst things I've seen.

  • Whats a perfect game in candlepin?

  • How did they score that, on the show? I disagree with Jekwrestler (that the 5-pin should be scored as down). We've had this discussion on the Voy forum, and most people would score that as a 5-drop, but my reading of the rules is that it is not a "felled pin" until pin action has stopped -- i.e., a pin that flips over or falls, then stands back up is NOT a felled pin. This is one of a number of places where the rulebook is badly written and in need of clarification... Urb

  • i actually saw that happen in regular bowling but it was a 5-7-8 and the 5 hit both the 7-8 knocked them back but the 5 sat on the 7 spot

  • happens all the time in Real bowling

  • @paponin real bowling ? fuck r u talking about ... prob never bowled candlepin b4 so its not real ?

  • did he die?

  • he will never do that again, no matter how much he tries

  • shit ball

  • LOL! that happened to alot of ppl! Even me but it was my 2nd pin In Regular bowling... going to my 7th... also other ppl got that so its not something u will only see there

  • if that happens in 10pin thats a mandatory drug test...

  • lol what is there like a rivalry between ten pin and candlepin?

  • because people are always arguing about how candlepin is harder than ten pin.

  • @OneWingedAngel468 it is if you think about scoring. since the maximum in either game is 300 its easy to say that candlepin is harder cause i dont think anyone in histroy has bowled a 300 in candlepin.

  • i was once playing candlepin and one of the pins flew up and landed on top of another pin.....welll....not really.

  • WTF

  • I know you probably won't believe me, but I have seen a pin flip through the air in land in another pins spot in 10 pin. The guy was so poed cuz he was working on a 300

  • I do believe you because I saw the same thing happen about 20 years ago.

  • OMG 0:20 holy shit. My dad was actually bowling and he threw it so damn hard that it made the back bin bounce off the back wall and return to it's original position, kinda like that. I WAS LIKE WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lolollolololololo

  • Wow I couldn't believe what I just saw!

  • its happened 2 me in 10 pin

  • me too

  • 160 or 170 easily? My step-father has a plaque from his candlepin league for shooting a 382 triple. My current average in ten pin is 215 and I can barely shoot 85-90 in candlepin, it's not an easy game

  • how did the brodcasters not notice that

  • You ARE joking, right? You don't know this game whatsoever.

  • @Wolfman12395

Challenge him Wolf. Make him prove he can average 160 :-)

  • @Wolfman12395 i dont know wat it is ethier never seen it hurd of it nothing

  • @MBfilmproductions no worries wolfman, he this guy is a "film" major

  • @MBfilmproductions retard

  • @MBfilmproductions

I think candlepins are as lame as the next guy, but that's BS. Put it this way. If you can average 120 in duckpins, you could probably carry a 200 average in tenpins. However, a tenpin bowler averaging 200 could not go to duckpins and average 120. Candlepin is the poor man's duckpin bowling except candlepin has a huge luck factor considering you can cheat and use the deadwood to make otherwise impossible splits. It's not real bowling IMO. Ducks are more fun than tens even.

  • @WonderDrugEchinacea you're just as ignorant as the guy you replied to

  • @chaveznieves

...but still more intelligent than you and your simple minded non-contributions to these video comments. Try posting something that shows you at least have a minute amount of brain cell activity beyond name calling and senseless drivel like, oh I don't know, saying what you disagree with and why for example?

  • @WonderDrugEchinacea you're doing the exact same type of name calling :)

but if you want me to make some points, how about the fact that candlepin balls are tiny and extremely hard to aim. how about the pins are very thin and hard to hit. how about the balls are very light as well and that it takes a lot of power to knock over all the pins. not only that, but 10 pin is a totally different style. you put a pro 10 pin bowler in any other kind of bowling and they will fail miserably. sorry dude

  • @chaveznieves

See, I knew you could do it. BTW, I didn't call you a name :)

That's not necessarily true about a 10 pin bowler failing miserably in other kinds of bowling. I started with duckpins and I still go from time to time and have yet to bowl under 110.

I will agree about the candlepin part, but that is offset by the luck factor. The pin action is low and inconsistent and using the deadwood is ridiculous. To me, who has logged years with ducks and tens, doesn't view it as real bowling.

  • @chaveznieves

I just don't like the idea of making something harder by increasing the luck factor of the sport because then, skill means less. Those balls are hard to aim, but so are duckpin balls. By being able to use deadwood for spare conversions, you are essentially lessening the need for accuracy since those pins are what, a foot tall? I don't really know, but that's a big target when laying on the deck in front of pins a few inches across. I would argue that ducks require more accuracy.

  • naps i saw it in tenpin

    /watch?v=gbIpIQZe8DY&feature=related

  • That's different. This pin literally flipped over, and knocked a pin out and replaced it.

  • Yep, the 5 stood itself back up UPSIDE-DOWN! That would be pretty rare in tenpin, I think. ; )

  • @Wolfman12395 ...how is it different? in the other video the 5 pin falls over, takes out the 7, and stands back up in the 7 pin spot. both random occurrences are awesome, and you would think it's more likely to happen in candlepin than 10 pin (though really rare in either)- but they are both definitely the same thing.

  • @Wolfman12395 Best shot ever thrown.

  • @Wolfman12395 you are right the pin flipped upside down, hit the wall and replaced the back one

  • WOW and the funny thing is, that pin coudnt be more on spot even if the machine set it there. great catch for sure

  • Up until now i had never even heard of candlepin bowling, happy days

  • "Something that you will ONLY see in Candlepin and NEVER in Ten Pin" I thought it was going to be a guy winning a Championship with a score of 117.

  • bull this has happened in ten pin bowling

  • No it hasn't. Have you ever seen a pin flip upside down, and replace another pin entirely?

  • @Wolfman12395 that's not the point fyah is making, pins have replaced each other in 10 pin bowling... whether it flips upside down or not is irrelevant considering candlepin pins are symmetrical on every axis... its harder to do in 10 pin... try scooting a 5 to a 7 pin spot intentionally and tell me how possible that can be...

  • @honkindonkey semantics =b

  • @Wolfman12395 I've seen both happen individually, not both at the same time (not upside down, but flipping 360 degrees around and landing back up)... no reason to think it couldn't happen.

  • @Wolfman12395 dude this does happen in 10pin look it up.... happens everyday at the alley even as far as getting hit into the next lane and standing up perfectly... shit happens..

  • @Wolfman12395 yes i have lol, i work at a bowling center and ive seen it on the 4,7,10 split. the guy (left handed) chopped the 4 bounced it off the curtain hit it again with the ball came back up on the deck spinning and replaced the 10......not totally on spot but very close. it was very very crazy looking lol. but yes it can happen.

  • @Wolfman12395 i've seen a pin slide over and take anothers place.lol

  • exactly. and tenpins fuckin dumb anyway

  • @IIFyahII

    Really? Seriously?

One pin bumping away another, while scooting in to replace it while BALANCING ON IT'S HEAD?

    In tenpin.

    Seriously.

Well OK, maybe. Show me the video.

  • Haha, nice :D

  • that was krazy sheeeeit lol

  • lol

  • wow. similar things happen in ten pin bowling, but because the pins in candlepin are so much skinnier, it's hard to believe that stayed up.

  • When you travel to new england, you have to try this kind of bowling. 100 is considered a good score. The top bowlers average around 125

  • thats funny. :P

  • This happens all the time in five pin bowling

  • ive only seen that in actual bowling. and even then its hard to believe that would happen

  • high-larious

  • I didn't think that was even possible...

  • ahh yes.. the mythical force that is the center of gravity

  • Utterly fascinating! I'm in the Midwest where we don't have this sort of bowling (that I am aware of). Shame. This is way more interesting than ten pin!

  • Very rare to see pins stand back up, the rules say once the pin is down, its counted as a downed pin, if it stands up doesnt mean anything, pin is still down.

Those T.V. pins dont got the little green thing anymore lol. One of them has a chip in the cap and it fell over today like 5 times when me and Nick Norcross were setting up for tomorrows taping. I had to clean these pins by hand, SO NOT FUN lol. Filthy (covered in new silicon material)

  • what if it just flips(frontflip/backflip type flipand stands back up

  • pin is counted as downed. Once the top (cap tahts not touching the deck) gows half way like a strait line ___ like that, its down.

  • very subtle

  • did anyone really notice that in the audience.... sounds like someone had a reaction, but there wasn't much of one.

  • I appreciate you posting all the candlepin bowling that you do but i was wondering if there are still any candlepin bowling shows left on TV?

  • Yes, 11am on Saturdays on Comcast SportsNet

  • haha thats crazy! ive seen i pin stand back up in ten pin, but in candlepin thats crazy! but never those two pins! lol

  • This counted as an 8 box. It was mentioned later on that once a pin goes to the sidewall and comes back like that it is counted as down even if it remains standing. A pin that completely flips over and stands back up would also be counted as down and can be used as deadwood for the rest of the box.

  • 8 box. What did they give him? a 7?

  • holy shit

  • may be never happen again! thx!

  • How about that. Speaking of which, Wolf, what happened to the 1995 show? Seriously, do you still have it?

  • Yes, I'll get to that within the next couple of days.

  • OK, just checking

  • woah
