@1skullduggery lmao u mean if everyone else has 6 plus beers you sound like waylon .......... karaoke kings crack me up if u can't sing sober u can't sing son
@TheMrdogoman it was a joke, jethro; nobody can sing like ol' waylon did. (mabe hoyt axton) but i've heard em' try at my local watering hole. but no, i would never even attempt to pull it off outside of the confines of my own shower stall...lol.
@low72 well the kid did say he was only 14 ...give the kid a little credit that he likes this kind of music and not the crap of today ...a lot of 14 year old's like today's junk
@low72 He wasn't bragging about it you muppet, he was just giving an example that it's not just really old people that like this music. Shessh, jump down his throat instead of encouraging his refreshing taste in music for his age.
@LanceLange That's pretty pathetic if you think what I said makes me an "ass"...you people are far too sensitive, do you got a set of nuts? Start using 'em and toughen up.
@low72 Too sensitive? You jumped down the poor kids throat for saying his age. You don't get it do you. You probably think you are being badass, but i'm sorry, men who attack kids on the net are anything but. That's all i'm saying about that.
@LanceLange No, I just don't understand what this new fad is of boasting your age. Music is timeless and ageless. It's more of a bragging right just to try and get thumbs up, and I think it's kinda disrespectful
@LanceLange Yes sir it's all good, and while you're at it check out the truth behind the music industry, the truth on john lennons death, michael jackson's death. Time to wake up my friend, time is running out.
We live in a shallow paltry times for art, man. I mean all forms of art too: literature, music, It is all bubble-gum for the mind and only for the moment, now days. provisional horse shit that record magnates can sell to teenage girls and people who dont know what real art and music is. Ask anyone who is between thirty-seven to their mid-sixties about the music of their time, and see what they tell you: Waylon, Jonny cash, Marty Robbins, George Jones, David Allen Coe, Lefty Frizel, etc.
@djAmericantoast178 It is out there man. It just doesnt get the focus and record deals that it should now that everyone is concerned with looks, and a colgate smile, and a good sun tan, instead of damn talent and song writing skills. Who cares anymore if they all sound the same and have no talent and cannot write their own songs, as long as they have that cowboy hat and wear the big hubcap belt-buckel. And to beat it all, they will be from Philidelphia or New Jersey, or somewhere. LoL.
@djAmericantoast178 i wish there was more kids like you in the world man....its sad country music is being portrayed as it is today by ppl like jason aldean, dierks bentley, keith urban,...etc......keep listenin to classic country man....dont let it die
Every Waylon video I find on youtube has a ton of "RIP WAYLON" comments, but I bet Waylon ain't resting at all. I bet him and John Cash are up there playing a string of dates togther right now. Ralph Mooney just joined them, and I bet Waylon already has ol' Moon moaning some steel behind "a couple more years" as we speak! I couldn't imagine a heaven without music!

@coventrygardens There was an episode of the Dukes where Waylon was a guest star and played himself. I own the complete series on DVD. That show was a very significant part of my childhood. I feel sorry kids don't get to grow up with shows like that today. The funny thing is, it was a great show for both kids and adults to watch. Still is...
@baguazhang77 i didn't see the movie versions of dukes of hazzard, that starred the new cast. i came to identify each of the characters with the original actor, and it seems phoney to have another actor playing the part. on the other hand, i think it would be fine to have new actors playing characters who are the younger kinsmen of the original characters. the movie or tv series could be called "dukes of hazzard: the next generation"
@coventrygardens I did see the movie, and was horrified. It was a complete, deliberate mockery of the show and characters. I saw an interview with James Best (Rosco) and he was beside himself with disappointment in the movie, and said the rest of the original cast was too. He/they advised not to see the movie, and I agree. I went into the movie with such nostalgia for the wholesome show I cherished from my childhood, and left in outrage at how they butchered it. That movie was NOT the Dukes.
@baguazhang77 maybe you would have liked the movie if you had been hypnotized to forget that those characters were ever portrayed by the original actors. maybe you're like me in that regard. once i identify a character with a particular actor, i have a hard time seeing someone else play that part. on the other hand, i'm willing to have numerous actors play characters that existed in real life, because those characters have an existence regardless of whether an actor played the part.
@baguazhang77 I totally agree... in the movie with jessica simpson Roscoe is serious... Roscoe was never serious... and Johnny knoxville and the other actor made bo and luke character look like dumbs. and the dukes of hazzard didnt make wrong things they tried to change bad things for good.... And even Ben jones said that it ruined the show... ( Cooter )
@genldoz har!! that's a good point. btw, i was familiar with this song and the fact that jennings was the singer long before i was familiar with jennings's face.
Many people don't know that Jennings was almost on the plane that crashed that killed Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper on "The Day that Music Died." Their tour bus' heater was broken, and they were traveling in the Winter, and they decided to charter a plane. Jennings gave up his seat the the Big Bopper (JP Richardson), who had trouble fitting into the bus seats, due to his stocky frame. There was not enough room in the plane for Jennings, who learned of the crash.
Yep, and on that night, Jennings and Holly were joking around, and Holly told Jennings, when he found out that he wasnt flying with them.. "I hope your bus crashes!" and Waylon replied with "yea well, I hope your plane crashes!" and they were just joking. Close friends say that comment Haunted Waylong for many years after that crash. He and Buddy Holly were really good and close friends.
to hear anyone else play this song sounds like shit
